I'm surprised at the price, that's kinda decent compared to Hercules.

Feeling the same way. Now all I have to do is wait for the green version.

Yeah, and the price cranks down their individual value to what we've allowed in scouts before. I loved the Trailer and hope Maketoys comes through on this.

At about $60 per fig, these are pretty reasonable. That's less than Warbot and the same price as Sonicron. (and they HAVE to be better quality than Sonicron!!)
I gotta wonder if the green set will be cheaper, though. Since the yellow has those extra accessories. Although, knowing online stores, it'll be more pricey since it's more desired...

And screw it, I'm getting the yellow version since everyone else wants to wait for the inevitable green one. I like the uniqueness of the C.A.T. type scheme they got going on, and besides they remind me of Tonka trucks...only they transform!

If you want a more G1 aesthetic (with a G2 Color I know I know!!) than Herc these molds are the ones to choose.
Just wish there wasn't so much 3RD Party goodness coming all at once - what with IGear Not-Ironhide/Ratchet, PE Arcee x2 and the re-issue Warbot to pick up it's a good job Hasbro doesn't want my money at present - I have none spare to give.

I was going to buy at least one set of these ones to try the quality out, but I've got a Battle Tanker on the way, so I'll take that as a guide to how good or otherwise the Maketoys stuff is. I do like these yellow ones for their vehicle modes though. A lot.

Motorthing wrote:I've had Bulldozer and Excavator (the names need work.....) since Saturday and they are fantastic - thank you Kapow - and I'll be getting the next two sets from them but the BBTS price is a lot more reasonable than I was expecting and if shipping didn't kill it for me I'd use them. Glad they have it up because now Giant will get enough support to make it to the all important Green.......we hope.
An email the staff got from BBTS says that the green one is on its way and will be announced "soon" so it's coming, but probably not until the yellow ones are out in the wild.

I don't know, I just know that initial reports said the yellow one had some extra accessories the green one won't have.

I wish I could remember where I heard it from, but we did get an announcement that the two-packs will a). be limited edition, b). come out BEFORE the green set, and c). have something extra (maybe the extra paint/sticker apps). All 3 factors peaked my interest, and I'm glad that Hercules is out the way before having to pay for these guys. Did a little bit more 'net search, couldn't find pictures or descriptions of any extras coming with the two-packs, even though the 1st is out. Maybe MakeToys forgot about it?

Okay so maybe you didn't get Hercules for what ever the reason just be nice and accept this awesome looking combiner in all it's piss yellow glory! What if the next repaint is actually the Diaclone homage? What then with all you pissing and wishing for green?

Sorry, I haven't opened them. I'm too busy playing with FE Bulkhead. I like to spread out my openings so I have things to look forward to for rainy days. Ask Motorthing, he has opened his.

I'll stop saying I want a green one when people stop using "gundam" as a synonym for "god damn". It's really awkward and doesn't work that well.

I must have missed something somewhere, cause I'd love the hell out of a Hercules colored like an RX-78.

Also What is the chance of this company going "belly up" before the green ones are released?
I need those green bots for the low price of 119 a set.

What'd be the benefit of BBTS letting people know this if it wasn't true? They're only talking themselves out of sales of the yellow set for those people who would prefer a green set.
Personally I really like the looks of this set. I'm tempted to get it as I'd like to customise it into the RiD Build Team, but I don't trust my skills on a set this expensive.
My only real concern is a serious lack of posability in the shoulders.

I think I poorly explained. By "green set" I meant that 6 green repaints of the Giant figures would be sold. Whether or not they were all sold together or seperatly in groups has yet to be stated clearly.

Wow, I'm sorry then. I've been spouting off about it being all 6 in green in one box. This has been the noise that's been happening for a long while now. I'd assumed it had been officially revealed somewhere. Did we just internet rumour the hell out of it?

I don't believe that ever came from Maketoys in any official capacity...that may have been their intent at one point, but the latest musings I've heard is that they'd be released in pairs again.

originaljk555 wrote:Encline designs did a quick prototype reveal/review and the shoulders have plenty of articulation. The joints extend out and allow you to move them more or you can leave them in for a more hefty chunky look.
Do you mean the video he made in a hotel room after one of the toy shows? I don't remember that showing any significant mobility in the shoulders. The worries I'm having is that Giant won't be able to raise his arms out to his sides. Bulldozer's and Excavator's treads will impact on Hook before it gets anywhere near and I don't think the shoulder connectors are long enough to allow the arms to come out far enough to bypass that issue.
On the topic of the supposed extra accessories that were meant to be left out of the green version, I reckon MakeToys were just making noise. Aren't the only accessories that come with the yellow figures weapons and Giant's forearms? Imagine the backlash if they were absent on the green figures.

The way the arm is set up does look like it's going to allow for more posability in the shoulders than Hercules, granted I do not have Herc or Crane and Dumptruck so I can't actually compare or confirm that just yet. The figures themselves sit almost like a shoulderpad and are jointed seperately so you can position it to allow more "arms-out-to-the-side" poses.
I plan on posting some pictures tomorrow evening, once I take a look at what I'm allowed to do on this site, and I'd be happy to answer anybody's questions about the figures.
A couple right off the bat, that I'd seen on other posts about these figures;
The MTC.co markings on the sides of the figures are NOT stickers, so anyone who didn't like them, you can't just peel them off. They're only coming off with some chemicals and care. They way they've been applied is kind of hard to explain, as they are not paint per say, nor are they decals. All of the "paint" details on them are done this way and they are quite durable. So if you really hate them, you may want to paint over them.
Scale wise, they are a little taller than most of the deluxes I've sized them up to. They measure almsot exactly 6 inches tall, and don't seem as tiny as the Chinese language review we saw made them seem when he compared them to Sunstreaker. While Hercs figures look alot beefier, these don't seem to be way smaller.
And lastly for now, the quality of them is quite fantastic. They actually feel alot sturdier than some of the official Hasbro stuff. Compared to Fansproject's stuff that I have, they are right on par. They don't feel brittle or cheap, they are put together really well. I've been playing around witht hem quite heavily since Feb 3rd and nothing seems to have gone floppy or loose. The ratchets are all clicking beautifully and the ball joints are nice and stiff, but not too stiff.
So ya, if anyone has any specific questions, I'd be happy to answer. These things are fantastic and I cannot wait til it's all done.
Sorry that my first post is so big, I'm just really excited about them.
