According to GrendelKahn from Clantsu.org, Michael Bay told the press at the Koren Press Conference for the World Premier Pictures, that if Transformers 1, 2 and 3 are a succes, they would do a fourth and fifth movie as well!
Note that this is a fairly new source and therefor we have listed this as a rumor for now.

Also I have to agree with a previous comment on the characters. Adding only a few characters at a time would be best to avoid the character development problems G1 had.

No, no, no hell no. No TV show. Sci-fi TV shows are where decent (or mediocre) Sci-fi movie franchises go to get drunk & strongly remind everybody within shouting distance of how they used to be a contender. I say make their movies & then have the movie franchise go the way of Elvis or Kobain & END IT.Megatron_Wolf wrote:I'd dont think that there should be 5. Keep it at 3 or 4 than make a TV show. Otherwise its going to be the next Star Wars or Aliens. The first 3 were great but the ones after were just OK. Hell for all we know there might not even be a third movie. And what if Bay gets kicked and a new director is used? Its never a good idea to look that far ahead without know what the begining holds instore.

And Bond just came out of nowhere. You'd only have known about James before the movies had you read the books.
Transformers has just slightly less name recognition, from the past 23 years.

I doubt more than 3 will be made without a "reboot" of some kind, Spidey 3 and PotC3 were both very weak, and even Shrek 3 was not as good as its predecessors (but still pretty damn good). It seems the third movie is the one where storylines falter, and plotholes as big as the Pacific ocean appear

Agreed - I think they're jumping the gun just a bit...

I'm not really a Bond fan(besides the videogames), but i totally see what you mean. We should all remember Godzilla as well, there are quite a few of those films as well, and they are all good, in one capacity or another(besides the U.S. made one, but i'd imagine that could go without saying). But maybe this could be Hollywoods "Godzilla series". There was enough interest to make hundreds of tv epidodes so far, a few movies, and things like that. With technology getting better all the time, i would think in a few years time, the effects wouldn't be so costly, and with good writing, they could continue for decades. If the designs rock it could get better all the time, and to have somthing like that with us most of the time, life would really kick even more ass!!!

but if you all think this will be some kind of movie cash juggernaut....im sad to say you will all be hit with a sharp reality check when the second week numbers come out.

Lets see 200 million domestic isnt really that hard to do. 150 million at minimum in theaters is easy given the attention this is getting. And that is 150 mil. over the entire theater run, I think it will do more. And then 50 mil. in DVD sales which is very easy once again given the fan base. Superman Returns wasnt the hit that the WB thought it would be but it still broke 300 mil in theaters before hitting DVD. It will make money, maybe not spidey or pirates money but it will make money.
Oh yeah don't forget Hasbro is splitting profits on movie toys with the studio as well so 100 mil in toys sales worldwide = 50 mil to dreamworks.

That wouldn't necessarily be bad. Hell, the way they make movies, they could kill him off in one & bring him back in the next without missing a beat & still make it a worthwhile story point.EXODUS PRIME wrote:im ok with as long as they dont kill prime
*spoiler warning*
Hell, they plan to kill Megatron at the end of this one....which he would obviously have to be brought back in the next.....so why not Prime, too?

The powers that be (Dreamworks/Paramount/Hasbro/Anyone else attached to the movie) will keep on cranking out TF movies until the franchise is no longer profitable.. Besides, modern movies make more money off merchendise (as made obvious with Spiderman 3, which made more money in merch than both 1&2 combined in the box office before #3 even opened! Which makes that movie a success money wise)... This TF movie will be no different..
Its still just a long commercial for the toys (and all the other crap with a TF logo on it), only diff now is its a 2+hr commercial that has a real thought out plot that should be intertaining in itself....
Most modern bussiness run sales models like this now.. Do you think its an accident that most of the vehicles in the movie will be GM (just like bad boys 2)?? or on the old tv show roseanne, the beer bottles were budweiser, but said "BEER" instead of "BUDWEISER".. TV shows and movies are more like commercials with product placement and the like than commercials are anymore!!
sorry for the long rant... but I do kinda hope that it is a long francise, as I mostly perfer the westren storylines over the eastren ones and hopefully with a movie franchise, the cartoon will keep being produced over here..
Killing off Megatron would allow them to bring Galavatron in the next one.. That should be obvious, isnt it?!?

Me too...we must be cautios other uwe boll might turn up. that man must stayb away!
Bay if perfect for the job. If you can name a list of directors who could shoot a film with 12 set piece mega action sequences with photo realistic giant effing robots transforming at 80 mph in mid air ending in one kick ass adrenaline fulled summer block buster movie then let me know ok?

They haven't even had Megs in an Earth-based alt mode...he's basically supposed to wake up, blow sh*t up, & then die....I'd say let him be Megs a bit longer before they make him Galvy.....possibly keep Galvy tied in with Unicron...

I'm waiting to see the film to make a final call, but as of right now I'd prefer this to be the only one made by this team. I'd rather not see my namesake, or Grimlock, or Arcee (see movie version for the ugliest Transformer ever made) get the Bay-former treatment.
