I dunno man, he's basically snotting out his teeth and nose.

So what is the means of offering for the gold shield. ?

I don't own the 1st edition Prime - but I do wonder if they'd have been better served to include the other deco of the shield as a promo item with it's expended shield mode.

Or even make a brand new mould of it in it's folded up arm cover mode (where it's just a panel that sits on his arm with a circle on it and the gun barrels retracted and the force shield element not deployed.

It is a bit of an oversight to not offer the 3rd form of the shield.

Though doesn't it also have a "Ground mode" where he can take it off and shove it in the ground too ?

That Megatron face mask gimmick is rather spiffy actually. I like it.

Courtesy of yours truly, we have some Japanese sightings for Takara Tomy's edition of the Transformers: The Last Knight, found in Gobo's Joshin store (with the movie only hitting in August)! The wave is the first, with Deluxes (20 USD) and Voyagers (32 USD), and One-Steps (8 USD) on display, to the backdrop of an animated commercial for the latter figures. Also, the toys are indeed the same, with the TLK sticker over the Hasbro packaging logos.

American decos with Japanese stickers slapped on the package lol. Well no wonder they selling at American prices ! Would have loved to see the chug section prices in the same store...

Via the official Takara Tomy Transformers website, we have news of a Transformers: The Last Knight exclusive to accompany your Optimus Prime figure: a gold chrome and blue version of the Age of Extinction Optimus Prime leader class toy! It'll be exclusive to certain stores, and in limited numbers, as of July 15. Check it out below!

Courtesy of the official Toys'R'Us Japan channel on YouTube, we have a new commercial for the exclusive toyline that will be hitting the retailer alongside Transformers: The Last Knight (King, as it's known in the localised release) - some of whom are specific exclusives for the store, such as the two Voyager and Leader Megatrons. The clip uses stop motion animation and voice-over narration, and features the likes of Bumblebee, Sqweeks, Hound, Optimus Prime, Drift and more - leading into the TLK line, the One-Steps, and the Movie Masterpiece figures. As the US has Valvoline and Valvotron, Takara Tomy Transformers in Japan has also partnered up with a garage chain - Idemitsu - in order to bring a lottery for its users (Japan only)! It's the shield that's being shown off. It's a campaign item that comes by itself.

Well, if it's held by a 5mm peg (I don't know that it is or not), any size class could hold it.

From toy blogger Alfes2010 and Taiwan-based fan Yu Ting An, we have some new in-hand images of Takara Tomy Transformers' The Last Knight (TLK-15) Calibur Optimus Prime - their pumped up leader class figure for the Autobot commander! Included in the images below, we get to see the accessories, robot and vehicle mode, and comparisons with Age of Extinction's (Lost Age, technically) AD-31 Armor Knight Optimus Prime. That mod for the backpack shield is rather impressive. I do wish the flames where that darker red though... Looks like an amazing figure, and the best-of-the-best in every way. I really don't know how Hasbro hasn't gotten this one or the previous version out of Japan.

It's nice (particularly the paintjob) but I still hate those shoulder pads and how you can't put flames on them cos they form the top of the truck.

That's a good point. Flames on those shoulders would look badass... Maybe if they could rotate around? But then you'd expose the ball-socket.

The whole backpack comes of and forms a riot shield.

So basically, the horrid backpack can detatch? Well, partsforming is a solution, but it's not the best one.

I'm actually quite impressed it can still clip on the back in "standard" configuration. I like that the shield passes the accessory test at first glance.... really have to catch it at an angle/side to notice the kibble.

That's pretty damn cool. Not accurate at all but hey, it looks awesome. I'm loving that shield and the axe.

That can't be helped, really. It's a TakaraTomy-original idea like the Armor Knight retool, with no involvement from Hasbro whatsoever, so they have to wait until TakaraTomy is done with it before even attempting to release it.

Whatever the logistics reason, it's still stupid. Hasbro would rather rush out something already made in hopes of a quick buck than work out a deal with Takara in the huge amount of time they had between films.

Soooo.... anyone wanting to buy it but would be willing to part with the axe?

In this issue, the focus is on Takara's take on Hot Rod, Infernocus, the Toys "R" Us exclusives Cybertron, Deluxe Megatron, and Skullitron, Movie Masterpiece Bumblebee, and Calibur Optimus Prime! The images of the issue has been mirrored below for one's viewing convenience.

I really hope I can get the Optimus two pack, the Leader Optimus, and Deluxe Bumblebee 3 pack soon and in good prices/availability. Hasbro's announcements tend to get inconsistent.

I rather like the idea of this mould decorated in the 2007 deco - as then the flames on the roof would add a bit of needed detail to the robot shoulders and add some visual interest and it would be a nice change from the default deco - also the orange weapons would match the orange paint accents on the hood then too.
