Fellow Seibertronian Gotbot made a video and in that video he shares new listings he found. JT Prime 17 was able to cross reference some and give us more detailed listings along with just more listings in general. For the Movie/SS side of things we have the news that there will be a voyager assortment in the Rise of the Beasts mainline along with the Studio Series line. So not only will there be 2 different deluxes for the same characters, but there will be 2 different voyagers for the same characters too, like Rhinox. Also, while Cheetor will be a voyager price point in the SS line, he will be a deluxe release in the mainline. And while Optimus Primal will be a leader price point in the SS line, he will be released as a voyager in the ROTB mainline.

There was also a severe lack of Optimus Prime in the SS movie line. Well now we see that there will be a voyager Optimus in the ROTB mainline. Plus, there will be a multipack in the Buzzworthy line. For now, here is all the new info we have:

Buzzworthy:
Tra BB TF7 Jungle mission escape Pack
SS 86 2pack
SS leader reissue

Studio series:

I'm not the least bit surprised there are far fewer Optimus Prime toys here than for any previous live action film. It's a sound marketing decision on Hasbro's part, because the average casual fan simply doesn't understand that Optimus Prime and Optimus Primal are not the same character, and still won't get it even after seeing the two of them interact on the big screen.

I know I sound like an irredeemably snobbish "TRUE FAN" s#itting on others, since this is basic logic and common sense to every Seibertronian, but seriously, I learned this from my 14 years working at Toys'R'Us, even if I can't quite explain the psychology behind it. Please hear me out.

My first evidence of this came shortly before the first BayFormers came out, during a conversation with a coworker, a few years my junior, who seemed to be a big fan of the G1 toon, and whose older brother was a collector. When I mentioned Beast Wars, she immediately responded, "You can't make Optimus Prime no monkey!" So I naturally explained that Primal wasn't the same character, but before I could explain how they found the Ark in The Agenda, she just started laughing her ass off at me. "What's so funny? That's just the basic premise of Beast W--" She found this so funny that she couldn't stop laughing for at least half a minute. I certainly wasn't offended or anything, just confused. At least it happened before I bored her to death with my views on where Earth Force splintered off from the rest of Marvel continuity.

At the risk of getting off track, maybe "casual" isn't the right word here, because Transformers DID indeed mean a lot to her, as I learned the first time we spoke AFTER that first Bay film. Sweet Primus To put this in perspective, I forced myself to watch all of Beast Machines that I might judge fairly its worthiness as a sequel to the series that saved the TF franchise in its darkest hour, and it felt like 2 seasons of watching half my favorite BW characters get brutally raped until their minds broke. I'm sorry that's offensive, and if I ever find a better analogy that more accurately describes how I felt watching it, I'll edit this post. I will never soften on that, BUT, I also never got half as pissed at BM as my coworker was at that first live action film. She was so mad that she couldn't articulate more than one sentence, just seething, like Bay had murdered her childhood pet and the cops had just laughed at her like she laughed about Primal. GEEZ. Never talked to her about TF again...well, until Combiner Wars.

Sorry, I just needed to provide context.

While I never met anyone that pissed about Transformers again, at least that incident was technically understandable, more than I can say for what happened after Dark of the Moon came out, which was just plain weird. IDR if this was opening weekend or the Saturday after because I don't rush to see movies opening day, something I still regret not doing for DotM, since being the store's resident TF expert, I was charged with manning an event table near the entrance where I was demonstrating a few Cyberverse toys, mostly Megatron with full trailer. Two little boys, genuinely concerned about the events of the film, came up and asked me: "Why did Optimus Prime turn evil?!?" In the rare moment when the youngest, most impressionable fans desperately needed my authoritative knowledge on TF, I had no idea what to tell them, couldn't even hazard a guess, and felt unworthy of my post for the rest of the day.

(Again this was DotM, not TLK)

Hours later, a different coworker than the one 4 years prior who'd also seen DotM verified what the boys had said by mentioning, "Y'know, it's funny, I had a dream once when I was a kid where it was the reverse, and I was running away from Optimus and trying to get to Megatron." I certainly didn't want spoilers, so I didn't ask her to elaborate, but went into the theater a few days later, looking forward to having all this confusion cleared up.

But as everyone reading this knows by now, it never will be. And I will forever kick myself for dragging my feet to see Bay's third #!&*ing masterpiece, and not being able to ask them exactly what they meant.

Now, as Shockwave would doubtlessly have told me if he'd had more dialogue, logically, all three of these people must have thought that Sentinel Prime was...also Optimus Prime. That being two Primes who turned into largely red trucks meant they were both the same character, somehow.

I wonder what will happen if a DCCU movie has Superman fight Captain Marvel/SHAZAM: will filmgoers see them as both being Superman, despite all the character development the Big Red Cheese will have from two movies centered around him?

Maybe it's also the sheer number of toys Op has gotten over the years. Next to each other on store shelves, displayed in someone's collection, or on the floor as kids are playing with them, they are indeed different Optimus Primes coexisting, usually without the rationale of a Multiverse or clones that fiction should necessitate, so that gets one used to there simply being more than one Optimus Prime without any logical explanation. Hasbro's probably assuming most shoppers will see all the RotB Optimus Primal toys as just more toys of Optimus Prime, and be too overwhelmed and confused if there are very many toys that are actually RotB Optimus Prime. There'll be other Ops from other sublines next to them to boot, so they have no choice but to largely hold off on O.P. toys until after the movie's come and gone, ironic as it is.

Of course, I could be wrong, because it's still illogical in a way that I probably couldn't explain even if I had a masters in psychology.

Yet similarly, I've found most people who aren't fans of giant robot franchises don't understand the difference between giant sentient robots and piloted mechs. The distinction is surely common sense to everyone here, but apparently understanding something so simple makes you a total geek in the wider world...outside of Japan.

Perhaps what haunts me the most is knowing for a fact that of all the employees who came and went from the Westland Toys'R'Us, I'm not the one most likely to snap and make and attempt on Michael Bay's life, so maybe I never was the most obsessive TFan there.

Sorry this became an epic rant, but I really, really miss that job this time of year. And my theory surely seems strange enough that most Seibertronians wouldn't buy it without citing the aforementioned incidents. But yeah, even after the Beasts have risen and fallen, the majority of moviegoers are still going to consider the two Optimi, Prime and Primal, the same character, so they can't both have all the toys they deserve out at the same time.

Looking foward to see what will be the differences between the ROTB and SS toys of the same characters and class, and which are better. I already know that the Airaizor to get is the ROTB one, but what will it be for the rest?
It's wait and see. :-?

That class part is the interesting bit since this news here tells us that some characters like Cheetor and Primal will be in a different class in the mainline. Optimus Primal will be a voyager, instead of a leader and since we can all assume that they will be the same size, the mainline option would become a "budget" version while maybe being as complex.

Or they will be the exact same things but with "extra stuff" for the "larger" class.
Wait n see. Wait n see...

The Rise of the Beasts toyline is being distributed now, with our first proof of that coming from Turkey where a collector shop got the first wave of 3 step Smash Changer figures. We had already gotten Smash and Change Optimus Prime through the Cyberverse line and it seems Hasbro chose to release the rest of the Smash and Change figures through the ROTB mainline rather than Cyberverse. The figure we can see in the image below is 3 step Smash Changer Optimus Primal, and the photo is from that shop in Turkey.

I am glad there will be a mainline outside of SS. I'll look forward to some RotB guys together in SS on the main movie shelf, while the mainline toys might end up with the non-SS toys. Hoping they look good alongside the likes of Evasion mode Prime, TLK Crosshairs, etc.

So, just like Airazor's Studio Series figure, it heavily borrows from the engineering of the Kingdom figure.

Doesnt have pipes for shoulders nor spatula arms, looks a good improvement tbf. Though the scale with the cars... did they really just go with, well thats how big the toy is next to a toy car, might as well make him that size in the movie....but then again I forget baynus is adverse to shrink chips whilst having made up shrinking allspark :(

Which makes me wonder if we are looking at ss voyager
Cheetor rather than the mainline deluxe

That might explain why it comes with the gun that Kingdom Tigatron had but Kingdom Cheetor didn't.

Vicegripx on Instagram posted several images of a Rise of the Beasts Cheetor toy. This is the deluxe class toy that will come out in the mainline and now the Studio Series toy. Interesting to see that he has a gun stored in his gut, which will make fans happy. While not a retool of the Kingdom Cheetor toy, some fans find them to share design cues with one another. Let us know what you think and enjoy the new pics!

The Gut Gun has storage as well. It still befuddles the mind they couldn't have come up with something to work with Kingdom Cheetor. I still think its fantastic

It might share some transformation cues with the kingdom mold, but there are only so many ways to have feline altmode transform into a botmode within a define transformation scheme.
Considering the differences in the beast legs on the bot shins (Kingdom's just sit on top of the shin, the RotB's actually tuck inside from the back) I'm inclined not to lump this as a Kingdom re-use/variant.

I agree. One must be totally blind to see this as a Kingdom retool. There is absolutely ZERO reused parts anywhere, unlike SS Airaizor who is a clear and simple repaint of the Kingdom.

It still remain unclear if that Cheetor is the SS "voyager" though.

It's the deluxe, we know that now. Looking at him in the trailer, he doesn't have the cheetah legs in his back so the SS will probably look more like his beast machines self than his original beast wars self, which this one emulates.
And good thing I didn't call it a retool since it isn't that. One thing about Airazor though, her SS toy shares no parts with the Kingdom figure either.

Why is the cat wearing pants? On that note, I kinda wish that the toy had more of a single color pallet, like either go full on the yellow with some copper paint for robot mode or vice-versa.

Side note, I appreciate how the cheetah legs go forward, back, then forward again, looks much better than the kingdom’s that goes back, forward, then forward again.

It's what we like to call "shared engineering". Same transformation but no parts in common.

No, the Airazor that shared engineering with Kingdom Airazor appears to be the SS one, whereas the Cheetor that shares engineering with the Kingdom cheetor appears to be RotB mainline

Does anyone else miss the good ol days where there was only one line and we didn't get confused?

Also, does anyone else remember getting out of bed to EAT Rice Krispies rather than getting out of bed SOUNDING like Rice Krispies?
If you sound like Rice Krispies when getting out of bed, consult your doctor or other medical authority right away.

Or get a new mattress. :P

I AM a medical authority!
Perfect!

I do miss not sounding like Rice Krispies getting out of bed.

But to be fair to the movie figures, the RotB toyline with these specific figures in it were supposed to be released last year, with the SS figures this year. There was supposed to be a year's difference, not side-by-side releases.

Wheeljack is by far the most talked about design of the film. Not only because of how different it is to the G1 design but how different it is to the one we saw in the Bumblebee film, which shows more disregard to continuity (for those still clinging onto that within the live action Transformers films). Well we have more images of it below coming from both Reddit and kentan99 and we can see that the giant glasses can be removed. They are clear plastic though, so they did break in half in one instance, as we see in the images (may have been intentional, rather than accidental, we do not know yet). We also have a shot from PrimevsPrime showing what it may look like with the suspenders part properly transformed. As of now, no one has the instructions, so the accurate look/transformation is not 100% certain.

Let us know if this sways you into probably picking it up if you see him.

I LOVE every single aspects of that Wheeljack. And if people just can't accept him as "Wheeljack" just call him "Larry" or "Bob." No matter the name, it doesn't change the fact that the bot is a brilliant design with a very groovy vehicle mode.

I think it's a neat figure as well. The only two things that bother me are

1) The duck mouth. He doesn't need to have the G1 grill/mask. I get it; they want to use mouths to emote. But that particular design is off-putting to me.
2) I wish they had made the highlight color green instead of tan, as a reference to the G1 Wheeljack. A vintage army-ish green would look great on a camper van.

This is one of the dumbest things I’ve seen. Removable glasses on a robot. Gotta show people he’s the smart robot, we’ll make him a nerd, by giving him glasses. This is such 1980s frat boy thinking it’s ridiculous.

I don't see these as glasses now. The way they are designed, they are more like safety goggles and are similar to the kinds that scientists wear in the laboratory. That kind of adds to that "mad scientist" vibe. I'm curious to see the SS version compared to this one.

Removable glasses? Great now we can recreate all our favorite scenes from the movie, like this one:

We should probably wait until we see how he looks in the movie, I doubt the toy could do proper removable glasses without them being big and chunky on a non-SS figure. That's assuming they were meant to be removed in the first place.

Hey this is a bit of false advertising, This guy has a giant square peg hole in his forehead, the photo showing him with no hole is photoshopped by half screen mirroring the image making it look like he has a full face under the glasses
