This obviously isn't aimed at you guys, so why are ya'll bothering to even click on this news page, look at it, and post on it, if it doesn't pertain to you?

Yeah, in addition to the creepy flatness, those "details" on Screamers grey parts conjure up ugly memories of Pat Lee, and after Dreamwave was destroyed just when its TF continuity was actually getting interesting, I'd sooner buy a TF/Ponies ongoing monthly than see any shades of his influence again.Shelf Space wrote:don't get me wrong here, I ain't hatin' I actually really dug last year's Pinky Pie and Optimus... but the art on this one looks like wet ball sack ugh

I wonder why...
Have you tried this new fancy site? I think it's called Gugul, or something.

As for everyone else:
Criticism of the contructive kind, positive or negative, is fine (see Shelfspace and Bumblevivisector, for example, above). Comments that borderline abusive language or behaviour are not. Thank you.

You know, you sound exactly like hardcore geewunners who only post in Movie Bayformers threads just to hate and complain, right?
Posted by Dead Metal on April 18th, 2014 @ 2:21pm CDT
But I gotta say, the art on this is kinda bad, that Starscream reminds me too much of a bad Starscream X Megatron X fangirl avatar pic I saw once on DA
It's not as pleasant looking as last year's Optimus Prime one.

Nope, just tired of this fad.
I don't hate it, I'm merely annoyed by it.

This "fad" is now it's own sub-culture that's been going on for FOUR YEARS now. It's still going strong and is going even stronger.
The Harlem Shake, Gamnam Style, This is SPARTA! were all fads. They came, and went. The 4th MLP gen that created bronies is now as big as Trekkies and Star-Wars sub-cultures and even bigger than Transformers. Did you know that just because of MLP, Hasbro keep itself in the black? "Girls" toys have been outselling "boys" toys for a while now.
Also, you can`'t just ignore all the fan content. Arts, fanfics, customs, professional animations and musics. Even home made plushies that sell for hundreds or even THOUSANDS of dollars on Ebay!
Also, all those huge conventions where official artists and voice actors come to, the SDCC collectors items and so on.
Sure, it was a "fad" in the first few months.
It's been years now.
MLP FiM is now a solid community. A subculture that have a bright and strong future ahead.
I will not try to "convert" you. But at least, acknowledge that MLP FIM is not an obscure weird thing anymore.

Nonsense. Everyone knows Hitler is a Brony. It's all over YouTube.Rated X wrote:Im sure if some artist drew a picture of hitler holding pinky, all the jabronies would be furious.
People are fine with him being a Brony cuz it makes him go bananas and look silly (since he's a psycho Brony that no one, not even sane Bronies, takes seriously). It's everything else Hitler did that people don't like about him.
Nah, that's why he's smiling so nervously. He's scared stiff to do anything bad because she's right there on his shoulder, watching him.-Kanrabat- wrote:I'm glad Rainbow Dash and Starscream made up after that terrible fight they had a while ago!

Technically that cover's more of a reference to the 1987 Justice League #1 issue cover (which MTMTE #1's cover also referenced):Va'al wrote:They also reference Transformers every now and then..

And Justice League, too, it seems. Of course, who HASN'T done a riff on that cover by now..?
Posted by Bubbah on April 19th, 2014 @ 1:45am CDT
But on topic, Katie Cook happened to be at WonderCon today, so I asked her about this book and if she knew which Con it was for and she said that neither IDW nor her, know. She was approached by Hasbro to do a cover for an IDW book, and was told which characters needed to be on it, but that was all.

Was that really a comparison of Nazis to Bronies?
I just don't get the hate. It's not like we as Transformers fans are exactly warmly embraced into mainstream society, so why attempt to do the same with something that is basically more accepted than us in the first place? I'm not a fan of MLP, but this is absurd. It's a cover, not TF:MLP: The Animated Series. Once that comes, then you can have a valid reason to complain, since it's more than a meaningless cover.
Granted, compared to Optimus/Rainbow Dash one, this one is horrid looking.
P.S.
Who's behind me on my petition to stop the G.I Joe crossovers? Do we raid Joe conventions? Oh, wait, there are none, are there? I'm just sick of the constant disgraces these G.I. Joe crossovers are to Transformers fans. So really, who's with me?

Lol, I see what you did there!
Off topic but it's a sad time for any JI-Joe fan. I'm not one, but there's only a few movies figure wherever I go. No vehicles, just tumbleweeds. JI-Joe really need a new animated series. Like the very, very good Renegades.

Remember when Hasbro revealed that the Transformers brand was so big that made them reinvent themselves as a media company to make even more TF money?
Who was responsible for that? Was it the female TF fans who suddenly flocked to the brand?
Maybe, just maybe the girl's toys branch is improving because they're making more toys that actually appeal to girls as opposed to just making utter crap that's supposed to be so "girly"?

Dead Metal wrote:Lol that article is stupid. So their girl's toys have been improving since 2010, and the ones responsible are supposed to be the bronies? And somehow this is supposed to be propping up the entire company?

Sure, the article is FAR from perfect. It make a point that not partucular demographics is clearly represented.
Still, girls DO play more with toys and boys are lately more into video games. Maybe that's why Hasbro is trying so hard to please the little kids with the new AoE movie line. They kinda have to do this to secure future fans.
Also, in our modern society, it's became more and more redundant/ridiculous to put a sex on toys. "This is a boy toy, this is a girl toy". Those term are slowly and surely becoming a thing of the past.
TrU is making a campaing right now under "let toys be toys" by no longer reffering to any of it's toys as a "girl toy" or a "boy toy". Mc Donald is doing the same thing with it's Happy Meals.
There's two purpose to this. First, MONEY. If a boy or man have the cash to buy some dolls, if he's he's not ashamed to do it, he will spend his money. The Mc Donald cashier will no longer say "will you take a boy toy or girl toy" but rather "Will you take a TRANSFORMERS™ or a MY LITTLE PONY™".
$Catshing!$
Also, as a bonus, a little going forward for our society.

Also, fad? MLP's been around in one form or another since the early 80's. I think it even predates Transformers itself.
Posted by Mindmaster on April 26th, 2014 @ 5:52pm CDT
Other than that, I could care less what else was on the cover. It's officially licensed Transformers shenanigans that'll only pop up on comic book covers, not fiction. Hell, I wouldn't even mind if they did a one-time deal like they did with Mars Attacks: The Transformers.
Seriously, quit with the apocalyptic complaining. It's more work for us to clean up the place. >:oP
