Or at least make it less intrusive.

They can? That's awesome; if you can get a picture, I can amend the news post ;)

I don't personally have hands on a sample, but no doubt more images will follow from those that do.

Looking nice, although someone forgot Windsweeper's gun. (EDIT: No they didn't, it's on his back, my bad.) Looking forward to if/when they round it out with a picture of Impactor's production sample.

Or those who could demonstrate using Optimus Exprime's swords and Onslaught.

They both have they're guns, one's under a wing and the other is on top of the jet mode

The limb-bots look awesome. Bludgeon, however, looks kinda meh. For one thing, Bludgeon really needs to be a tank, or at least some kind of tracked vehicle. For another, Thunderwing's head is plainly just pokin' out the top of the vehicle mode. I know it's like that on Bruticus too but at least that sort of blended in a bit. Also, why on Cybertron is the combiner head Thunderwing? Wouldn't Bludgeon's Pretender head make more sense? The Swords from GO! Prime are neat though.

That said, I reckon you could make an almost convincing tank out of this with Shapeways magic- make some gubbins to make the turret into a proper tank cannon assembly (or really anything other than the mess up there at the moment) and remove the clip-on wheels and replace them with track units. It wouldn't be the best tank there's ever been but it would be better than Onslaught painted green.

And at any other angle, bumper-punch syndrome :-P

So basically, it's bludgeon doing a superman pose for vehicle mode with thunderwing's head stuffed in bludgeon's backpack

I'm worried about how the targetmasters interact with the AB mold.

Why? Brawl's mold is riddled with issue's (I haven't seen a good review of him yet, nor any compliments 'round here) I'd rather have this really cool bludgeon, than a crappy one made out of brawl (who just so happens to also have inappropriate proportions for bludgeon too)

Well, they're more for 'bot mode, but I'd imagine that you could attach them to vortex's hands, or attach one to the underside of vortex, etc. They will not attach to where the chain-gun currently is however, but you could just put them somewhere else

He didn't say Bludgeon specifically needs to be the Brawl mold, he just said "a tank". That doesn't necessarily mean that he wants Bludgeon from the Brawl mold, and sure the Brawl mold is the only CW tank mold, but there's another question that we should be asking: Why include Bludgeon in this at all? He never worked with these other guys. The Mayhem Attack Squad had a very revolving door-type roster with members coming and going with each iteration. Bludgeon was never in the same group as these other four when he was part of the group, and when the other four were part of the group they worked with someone else. Someone who I wish we had gotten instead of Bludgeon: Thunderwing. I would have vastly preferred a Thunderwing retooled from the CW Cyclonus mold with the Cyclonus head retooled into Thunderwing's inner robot mode head and the Galvatronus head retooled into Thunderwing's outer Pretender shell head, which Thunder Mayhem is gonna have.

Not to mention having five limbs and no torso would result in a pretty crappy combiner.

I've got Brawl in hand already and I don't understand the fuss. Maybe I won QC roulette, but his torso audibly snaps into place. Sure, it looks off, but it holds together fine. It's way better the the 2-pts of articulation original. Bot mode has ankle tilts, great head sculpt, alt mode has double-barrel cannon, looks superb, leg mode is spot on. The weaknesses are short arms, tiny waist, and the turret doesn't rotate. The hollowness on the legs is hidden by the dark colors. I honestly don't mind because I understand that adding an extra panel on each leg to cover up the transformation would be an easy point of breakage and add more pieces to figure.

Fit for Bludgeon is a completely different story because I'd prefer a larger bur leaner bot and, you know, swords.

I agree with Kurthy regarding Brawl. I said as much in my video review of him as well as when I posted the gallery. He's nowhere near as bad as people are making him out to be.

Does anyone know when the first figure usually ships? Also are they sent monthly? And finally, there are the 4 limbs, the body, and Impactor, is that the complete set? Or is there a bonus figure as some have suggested?

I have no idea when it starts shipping but I want to say March for some reason ( if someone could answer this that would be great because I really want to know) and there will be a bonus mystery 7th deluxe combiner wars figure. My guess is for either quake or crankcase.

I must say I agree with the overall sentiment here, Bludgeon does not fit with Thunderwing for the combined mode. The Limb bots look awesome. In my opinion, the best option they could have used would have been to use the Silverbolt mold for Thunderwing, with his single bot mode as the inner robot, and the combined mode based on his pretender shell.

To me, it's more of a matter that we already have a very good, very serviceable Voyager class toy for Bludgeon, one that was even officially repurposed as a toy for the G1 character.

My problem with this new one is that, aside from the aforementioned notion of Bludgeon not fitting with the other four and Thunderwing being a better match, this new toy is supposed to resemble Bludgeon's smaller inner robot mode, and yet what we have here is only slightly similar to that concept.

Bludgeon's inner robot was a tank, not the cannon truck that we have here. And it was small. One of the more charming things about Bludgeon was how most of his physical intimidation qualities, being his imposing size and his fearsome appearance, all came from the design of his Pretender shell, while his inner robot was quaint and unimpressive. Yet, despite that, Bludgeon himself had the amount of personality on his own to make for a cunning, mighty, and inspiring leader. He didn't need to look impressive for others to follow him since he had all of the makings of a fine Decepticon leader on his own, with his Pretender shell being the icing on the cake that upgraded the unimpressive form of an impressive leader into matchingly impressive form.

It's like how Machine Wars Megatron is tiny. At a glance, MW Megatron looks unimpressive, harmless, maybe even wimpy. But it's Megatron. Megatron. We know what this guy is capable of and thus should not be trifled with even with his smaller body.

Ergo, making Bludgeon's inner robot big, powerful, and imposing is like doing the same to MW Megatron. It takes away from what makes them special and unique as Decepticon leaders; it's part of their charm. Remove that and we're left with just another guy who looks all wrong in either case.

Also, to add to what everyone is saying, while Bludgeon is indeed 2 very different looking toys rolled into one I think it is safe to say that what makes him so remembered is the look of the outer shell rather than the inner robot.

I'll echo what Sabrblade and William James have said. We already have a perfectly serviceable Bludgeon that goes from amazing to AWESOME with the (sadly scarce) Headrobots upgrade kit. This seems kinda...I dunno, redundant? Thunderwing would have made more sense, and would have given us a properly sized Thunderwing too (the Classics figure looks good but is way too small, though I guess it could work for Legends scale displays).

I'm legitimately impressed with most of these, even Bludgeon. I'm also surprised there's a matrix included. I wonder if that's a recast of that matrix that was released in Japan a few years back as part of a Micron Legends campaign?

With a bit of Reprolabels for extra detailing too. He's my favourite Decepticon figure. I love him plenty. :) (included alternate face pic at the bottom for those who prefer the cybernetic look to the skull-face)

Yes, a quality VOYAGER class sized Thunderwing is among the TFs on my most wanted wishlist thingy. The Deluxe figure was nice but so damn small...even for a Deluxe. The Silverbolt/Cyclonus as Thunderwing idea sounds good to me and would have made this team make a lot more sense (Bludgeon only worked with Spinister and Needlenose with Snarler, Octopunch and Stranglehold). Anyone know of a upscaled knock-off of the Deluxe? :P

Thunderwing would have also been far more appropriate, when he worked with the other four, it was during, of all things, the Matrix Quest.

Is still frustrating that I would happily buy Needlenose and Spinister if they were in stores despite their original mold releases of Firefly and Alpha Bravo not appealing to me at all because I really like the characters especially in the Marvel UK stuff with Bludgeon & Carnivac and so on. Oh if only I was a skilled repainter... or rich enough to commission them or buy these exclusives for the silly prices they probably are.
