I must say that having better pictures makes me not hate the blue as much. Looks damn sexy now. I want one!

Oh would you please stop complaining? The only recent helicopter Transformer who didn't have shit hanging off his back was Cybertron Evac!

Ya know, it's bad enough that he's got an entire helicopter hanging off his back (which there's absolutely no excuse for; see also: Vortex, Whirl, Bulkhead, etc), but it's so big and heavy that there's actually an extra foot that extends from the tail section to keep him from tipping over backwards!

From the front he look pretty cool, easily the best looking Movie figure so far. However from the side and back you can see that this guy is a tripod. He's never going to stand on two legs, and he's dragging half a helicopter behind him. It's a real shame because otherwise this could have been a great figure.

Edit: Actually now I see the rear section is detachable this figures isn't so bad. Could be better tho.

Magnificent!! Absolutely Magnificent! The detailing on the face is fantastic! These faces remind me a little bit of Cybertron Menasor, but this guy looks totally, throroughly EVIL in a way I can't remember ever seeing in the TF line...I love it! It even looks like his transformation is similar to Armada Cyclonus. The way the back section swings over to become that massive rotator blade weapon is brilliant!

Even with the backpack, it still looks awesome.

Why does he have white hands? Is he a mime? Is ie gonna mime the autobots to death?

He looks alright I guess, the backpack ability to come off is a real bonus. I don't know if I'll get him though.

I'm not much for copters, but damn, he looks nice. so glad the backpack is detachable.

Ever since I saw the first toy proto pics, I knew this guy would kill! I just wish Megatron and Starscream would look as cool as this one on this style (don't like the style they have).

Blackout is so beautiful! I just, I just want to take him and kill loads and loads of autobots!

Hey, AK... Are you sure the rear section is detachable? I see the pic you're refering to, but it kind of looks like perhaps the rear can be made to swing around so the blades can be used as a weapon. I suppose it would probably be easier to just make it detachable than to try to make it swing around, but to me it looks like the rear is still attached.

I must say, though, that if the rear IS detachable, then the figure is worth getting, IMO.

I like him fairly well. I wish his body was maybe a bit longer and he didn't have that huge helicopter tail hanging off his back. I don't mind the blades, it gives him some personality, but the tail looks to me like they just couldn't figure out what to do with it (or maybe they couldn't make him stand so they put it there).

That guy is straight decepticon, I can dig it. so far all these larger movie toys are on my to buy list esp this one...nice!

It does look like the back side (most of it) swings around and turns into a weapon which is cool. Looks like you can swing the back to either his left or right hands lol. nice.

I'm lovin movie ratchet blackout and prime so far. Can't wait to see a better 'bee.

Even if the back isn't detachable, I like the new look and all its functionality.

Does it remind anyone else of Depth Charge? I see a lot of him in there. The copter assembly shifting forward into a weapon-GENIUS! I love that the blades turn into a sword as well. Does he come with a gun?

On a different note - I like the background that is used. Any ideas how to duplicate that without buying a professional grade photography paper/cloth?

Wallpaper. Get a 4'x4' sheet of it and pin it to a wall.

If it weren't for those ugly white hands, this toy would be a perfect 10.

Now here's a movie toy that I'll almost certainly buy. He looks flat-out wicked. Maybe the fact that he's not based on an original character broadens my acceptance of the design, I don't know... but I really like this guy.

the alien face here is actually surprisingly badass looking

OMG! That is simply awesome! So far most of the toys from the movie line look pretty decent with some well thought out transformations. I am looking forward to collecting them this summer!

Though they could have done something with the back of the helicopter like have it open up to missiles or split apart an shift around into big ass cannons on his shoulders.

Wow, easily the best movie design so far.

But I somehow figured that Scorponok would be bigger in comparison. After all, his claws do look like they're the chopper's turbine engines.
