The release of the Walmart Exclusive Velocitron line is getting closer and closer. For those unaware, this is basically the replacement for the Netflix lines which were also exclusive to Walmart. While there was some connection to the show, many toys in the line were just ways to release more product that didn't even look like the show. And it gave us some really sought after figures like Bumblebee and Soundwave.

Well, now we have more info on the line. Since it is based on the theme of racing vehicle modes, these will come packed in alt mode, at least that's the rumour. Below you will find all product codes along with how many are in a case and which mold it is RUMOURED to be based on. As with the Netflix line, all of these toys are based on a mainline mold BUT the range goes from straight redeco (like with Clampdown) to mostly new parts (like Cosmos). We thank JTPrime for the info regarding the product numbers. The listings are starting to be found on Walmart's website.

Tra Gen legacy velocitron deluxe Road Rocket X2: Based on the Legacy Arcee mold.
EAN: 5010994115456

Tra Gen legacy velocitron deluxe Burnout X2: Based on the Legacy Skids mold.
EAN: 5010994115449

Tra Gen legacy velocitron deluxe Clampdown X1: Based on one of the recent Sideswipe molds.
EAN: 5010994115432

Tra Gen legacy velocitron deluxe Cosmos X1: Based on the Kingdom Warpath mold.
EAN: 5010994115425

Tra Gen legacy velocitron deluxe Blurr X2: Either based on the Legacy Pointblank mold or a variation of the SS mold.
EAN: 5010994115418

Tra Gen Legacy Velocitron Voyager Override X2: This is Cybertron Override based on the SS Hot Rod mold.
Product Number: F5763

Tra Gen Legacy Velocitron Voyager Road Hauler X1: Based on Earthrise Grapple.
Product Number: F5762

So Override really is going to be CW Armada Megs-type garbage. Ugh... Why even smegging bother... And if they can't do Override justice, why even bother with the Velocitron branding. :-x :BANG_HEAD:

At least Armada Blurr from Pointblank has promise. Those two have actual similarity to take advantage of.

No one said voyager sized, which isnt really a thing anymore, it's all about price points. And all that confirmed here is the voyager price point. Also, it isn't the extra crap which gave Hot Rod his pricepoint, it was his parts count (complexity). The extra crap is just Hasbro giving you a visual cue to maybe help you come to terms with the price, even if it's not the biggest contributing factor.
There's no reasoning with him about this... He's built a "Classeses mustses be sizeses" wall in his head and no amount of logic will break it down.

Yes, yes it is. Why someone thought doing him and Kup in their G1 toy colors was a good idea, I'll never know.

You understand that has zero chance of working right? There is no way Hasbro would scrap a line just based on a fan letter writing campaign. A decrease in sales is the only real way to get their attention. And even then, it took 2 years of the titans going to liquidation before they scaled back the production runs.
The hope was that a sufficient campaign would convince them there wouldn't be enough sales to bother with a separate line. In light of a more known plan, that's not gonna happen of course. But maybe we can convince them that crapverride won't sell and that they should name the line something else? I realize that's slim, but... Ugh...

This is true though I accidentally left out the word "exclusive". There was a time when getting an exclusive that was anything more than a new head and deco seemed incredibly unlikely, now we're getting entirely new molds even. We've come a long way.

I'll be impressed if they actually manage to pull this off. Granted I've never handled Kingdom Warpath so I'm not familiar with the ins and outs of the mould, but making it into Cosmos would probably take an insane amount of retooling. And if they are going that route, I hope the same happens with Override. If she just ends up being Hot Rod with a new head sculpt, complete with all of Hot Rod's accessories and nothing original, then I'll skip her.

I have a nice little g1 and chug legends mini bot collection coming along. And although I really like some of them, I definitely would like to see quite a few of them done in proper deluxe scale like they did with huffer/pipes and warpath. Powerglide would definitely be next on my list and perhaps brawn.

Now cosmos, is definitely a good candidate for a scale update and it's hard to imagine how they could pull it off based on the warpath mould, feels like an error. However, you can see some similarities in the overall transformation - how the head pops up at the top, the turret possibly forming the top part of the ufo and how the legs and arms fold up... if they pull it off, kudos.

Also I wouldn’t take anyones writing campaign from someone that uses childish lingo like “smegging” or changes a characters name to include “crap” in it serious because they think the toy isn’t going to look good even though they haven’t seen it.

I thought I understood what you guys wanted, a UT-focused set of original molds rather than a retailer-exclusive line of mostly repaints, but I don't understand why renaming the line would do anything, or why the best way to get a different Override is for the repaint to shelf warm. I'm primarily a G1 collector, so I'm a bit spoiled, but as a general rule I would rather have a decent figure with a compromised likeness than no figure at all. TR Getaway was a poor stand-in for G1 Getaway or IDW Getaway, but at least he was a Getaway.

I would also like to see Override before passing judgement. Their alt- and bot-modes were very different, but MMC showed Hot Rod and Override could share a mold. Since Hot Rod ha a faux chest, there's a lot they could change in the deco to suggest Override's windscreen there. Ultimately we'll probably wind up with a new alt-mode and compromised design as with Legacy Bulkhead, but that could still make for a good toy.

I was hoping for a Pointblank-based Blurr rather than an SS86 one, but it sounds like that's not happening. One less figure to buy, I guess.

We've had some major retooling done on another walmart exclusive voyager, Soundwave, so it could happen here (not thinking it's likely though).
And Blurr can go either way. It's as likely that he is based on the SS mold rather than Pointblank. All these rumours are based on early mock up images or second hand impressions. I was once privy to an internal mock up image of a CW toy which I thought looked truly awful. But the final version looked different from the mock up, using different molds even. So mock ups arent confirmation of what's happening, they just tell us what Hasbro is basing themselves on for the proof of concept.

Bumblebee and Soundwave from the Netflix line definitely changed the name of the game and Target's exclusive Origins Bee redefined it completely.
However, the first exclusive mold was given no fanfare in 2015:

Pointblank was one of the names listed among the Deluxes in the intial JTPrime leak for the whole Legacy product line. He's supposedly going to be in Wave 3 with Dead End, Crankcase, and an "Energon Monster" which many have speculated will be a repaint of one of the Kingdom Fossilizers. The popular speculation right now is that Velocitron Blurr is going to be a repaint of this new Pointblank as Armada Blurr, because the two share a few similarities (namely the shoulder pads and the front half of the vehicle mode being vaguely similar).

Will be interested to see them, maybe not interested in buying any of them tho XD roadhauler is the only want so far.

I could see Cosmos just being a repainted green origins Bee which would work as animated pre-waspinator for me at least. warpath not so much.

Taking the opportunity to remind everyone that Hasbro/Mark the designer said on a stream that they consider Kingdom Slammer to be a retool of ER Ironworks internally, even though it seems that they literally only share the thigh parts and part of a leg transformation. If a case that extreme falls under the umbrella of retool in Hasbro's eyes, Cosmos and Override could really look like ANYTHING. They may just take the transformation/engineering skeleton from Warpath and reuse it for Cosmos, since Cosmos and Warpath's original figures transformed pretty much the same minus Warpath's addition of the tank turret, while still being at least mostly new parts.

And yes I know those were both retail figures and not exclusives, but as others have already said, non-repaint exclusives are getting unprecedented levels of tooling these days.

FYI, that speculation for Armada Blurr is solely due to one internal Hasbro Asia document using a pic of Armada Blurr when referring to Blurr. Now it's up to all of you to decide if every hasbro employee is savy enough to know exactly who armada Blurr is and by no means looked up Blurr online and picked a photo at random to populate an internal document that would never see the light of day.

While I've wanted a new Cosmos for some time I'm not sure if Warpath is the right mold for it, seems tome that Bumblebee would be due to size similarities as Warpath appears too tall. That said his construction probably is the closest to how Cosmos would transform. Guess we'll have to wait and see but I'll likely buy him anyway. The others don't interest me in the slightest.

That's a really fascinating idea, turning Warpaths skeleton into Cosmos! I'm still pretty darn happy with my Legends class Cosmo from a few years back, but a big Deluxe update might be neat :-? Guess we'll see when he comes out

As for Overdrive, goin be honest with y'all, most of these Volocitron characters are not familiar too me, so the idea of a SS Hot Rod redeco with a different head isn't unappealing to me frankly, specially since I didn't pick him up originally

At 1st I thought Cosmos would be a retool of Origins Bee, but now I think he'll be too small. I mean, he was a minibot, at least in the G1 comics and the G1 toy. Being Warpath's size makes more sense. But I'm very curious regarding the engineering. For the record, I have and love my Prime Wars Cosmos.

As do I but like most of the prime wars minibots they’ve gotten a little dated now especially in the articulation department. I don’t care if they’re a little bigger then standard minibot scale. Scale was tossed out with huffer and even cliffjumper really. Bee and cliff don’t go up to primes waist. If they wanna make minibots the same height as the cliff mold or huffer go ahead. It’s not like the cartoon really followed that scale guid and as long as their fun figures do it especially since there’s only 3 minibots left in 84 and they all can be retooled into the rest of the 86 minibots. 6 mainline characters can be done with more in selects.

Oh, right. They were digibashes of Black Convoy and whoever is getting the Arcee retool. I said Override, an oversight as she's / he's supposed to be a Hot Rod retool. I saw them on Facebook.

Oh, right. They were digibashes of Black Convoy and whoever is getting the Arcee retool. I said Override, an oversight as she's / he's supposed to be a Hot Rod retool. I saw them on Facebook.

No, it wasn't Elita-1. It also wasm't Flamewar (even though it was red), and Elita isn't even in Velocitron.

Just so we're clear, when you say Arcee, do you mean G1 Arcee or Prime Arcee?

G2 Road Rocket is being retooled from Legacy Arcee

Thanks, having reminded myself of who road rocket was, I can totally see it.

Heh, in the French dub of Cyberverse, the planet was even called "Vélocitron".

The pun was easy but the word is also very close to velocity (vélocité in French) and I can guess that's the true meaning of that planet's name.

Indeed. "Velocity" is the root word, like how "Speed" is for the Japanese name "Speedia".

More specifics from PvP comments:
-PvP only has Scourge/Black Convoy, Hauler, & Override currently
-Hauler has a new screaming/angry head sculpt with the Grapple helmet (used a pic of MP Grapple's angry face for reference)
-PvP is convinced that Override is actually a new mold and sees zero shared parts with SS86 Hot Rod despite what was rumored, says the only weapon/accessory she came with is a detachable alt mode back/gun like the original figure, skews towards show proportions
-Review (seemingly for Override based on context but not explicitly stated) planned for Wednesday, will upload images before then

That Override info got me excited for the figure again. Maybe there's hope for her yet!

'Twould make the most sense for him to review Override first and Black Convoy last, building up to the biggest one in order of size.

Just saw a look at the new Override in vehicle mode and I too am beginning to doubt that it's a retool of SS86 Hot Rod and not just a new mold of its own. It is super-accurate to her Cybertron toy's vehicle mode design. A bit shorter and stubbier, though. And could use a bit more paint.

Well this was a surprise to be sure (but a welcome one). We just got our first look at the upcoming Override toy in alt mode. Rumours said it would be a retool of SS86 Hot Rod, since that was the only voyager class car mold, but if it is, it is not obvious. Do you see how it could be a retool? At first glance, it looks far more like a brand new mold, being very faithful to the original, which you can also see below.

The image comes from Prime vs Prime who is working on a review at the moment. We'll see if the line is revealed officially soon but whether it is or not, we are getting more images of Override and others in this exclusive Walmart line soon. Also, since fans were confused here are some facts regarding Walmart exclusives this year.

There are 3 exclusive Walmart lines this year:
- The Legacy Beast Wars redecos: They are in Legacy packaging with a plastic window but are exclusive to Walmart in the US and Canada and not part of a particular Legacy wave.
- The Beast Wars reissues: this exclusive line continues this year, we already got Cybershark but more will be in stores soon.
- This Velocitron line: We have not seen the packaging yet but apparently this is supposed to be what is replacing the Netflix exclusives for Walmart and it is said that the toys will be packaged in alt mode.

Interesting.... definitely not Hot Rod. Looks like an entirely new mold.
However this then poses another question. If she's a new mold, then who is going to be the secondary use? Call me crazy, but I see Pointblank potential there.

Want to see more of it. But I may just get it. It would look interesting next to the original.

I'd hope they do Shattered Glass Elita-1 since that was based on Override GTS.

Hasbro is not basing their shaterred glass line on the molds originally used. It's their new G1 style molds in shaterred glass colours.
