A minor thing, sure, but kinda depressing that since Acid Storm from just last year they've lost paint apps on the chest, shins, and kneecaps on top of losing the partner figure.
Talk about an insult to your wallet, unless that makes it 'G1 accurate'

Well, that was my other thought: these don't have collector value now, they probably won't when he has the money to get them, and by that time, some of the lost light crew (right? the ones he's looking at in these sets) will have good figures, so... win-win
Also, if those GO! combiners weren't such kibble-ridden pieces of garbage, I'd get them for $14

This is so tough! I totally get you. But there is also the regret that you bought something you didnt really need. And then something else comes along and you dont have the funds for it.
Or, you buy something in fear of regretting not to get it, and then you regret getting it because it is lackluster. I have been victim of that one (Prime Abominus and Systalker and Alternators Optimus and RTS Mindset and Movie Lockdown). How about you?

Well, I only do this for him because he wants to make a lost light combiner (cyclonus and company) and a good whack of them are being released as limb bots. If it's something he wants (it sounds like it is) he really should go for them, but maybe wait for an HTS promotion.
I really love sky lynx/sky stalker; one of my only beast hunter purchases; I personally like to think of them as a fembot, and give them skullgrins pickax - you should try it, let me know if it works for you.
I regret many of my purchases from my youth (BM Megatron instead of Magmatron - will never forgive that ) and many from armada (lacking basic poseability - including botcon megazarak) and any lacking poseability or that suffer monkey-arm syndrome (sounds like a cool name )
I more regret not getting figures that I like now, since I've developed my sense of aesthetics and buying habits (BM blackarachnia or her recolors) and more of the energon combiners (which is why I'm getting almost everything from this line), but overall, not so much, I strictly adhere to my two rules, and will look through many threads, forums, videos and galleries to become as educated as possible on a figure before buying them.
My only immediate purchase (that comes to mind) was Salvia Prominon, after seeing a picture of her in one of the weekly updates, I immediately pre-ordered her and haven't looked back since (she's so beautiful )

The sad part is that, there is a precise amount of room on the roof section to have the slots cut into it for the ax to rest in the hinged section. But this is generally how I feel about the rest of the re-shells, they could've done a lot more for them

Actually, it doesn't need additional slots, it just needs an extra horizontal tab on the opposite side of his weapon accessory from where the vertical tabs are so that it can tab into the existing hole. If I was going to have him on display, I'd be half tempted to buy an extra one just for his weapon accessory so that I could snap a tab off one, glue it on the other and then he'd be all set.

Seibertron wrote:It would have been awesome if the weapon accessory for Rodimus and Blackjack had an extra horizontal tab so that it could have stored on the backside of the figure like I have it shown in the picture below, which easily achieves Rodimus' more classic look sans chest flames. For these photos, I accomplished this by using a polyband which wraps around the weapon and the back piece though I'd much prefer a physical tab to do this.
I'm really surprised they didn't do this.
Just want to point out that Nonnef made a 3D printed upgrade that allows this, super cheap too!

I'd probably display him Energon style, like the UW version: Ironhide and Prowl as arms, and Sunstreaker and Mirage as legs. That is, should I be able to obtain him. I may have to spring for the UW version if Convoy has the Battle Core head but the original red and blue.

Sporting a retool of the Jetfire mold from previous Generations line, and already seen with Thundercracker, the new Seeker also includes a crown for all your re-enacting needs, null-rays and more treachery than you can wrap in one purple cloak. And as an added bonus, two more galleries featuring more of Starscream's incarnations: Heroes of Cybertron figurine and Mega SCF - both with smirks, both with crowns, both accessible by clicking on any of the images below.

The yellow "Unicron" faction sticker (it comes with a blank white sticker, a Decepticon and an black, inverted G2 Autobot "Destronger" symbol, too) hardly shows on the white background, and the yellow smeared off mine onto the white background, when I tried to smooth it down.
Also, TFwiki's entry states that it comes with a G2 Decepticon/Autobot symbol, which isn't true. Could someone update it, please?

Sabrblade wrote:Looking at the galleries of both UW Grand Scourge Hyper Mode and the original Super Link Grand Scourge Hyper Mode, an idea dawned upon me. Given the colors of the Super Link figure's Hyper Mode limbs (purple, black, yellow, and teal), one could use the limbs of the forthcoming CW G2 Menasor to somewhat replicate the original limbs colorwise in a vein similar to how UW Convoy Grand Prime attempts to do the same with its own limb bots. The only exception would be G2 Dead End being red instead of purple, but UW Ironhide is likewise an exception by being red instead of orange.
The same thoughts crossed my mind while I was working on these galleries. But then I just kept thinking that with as basic as the Combiner Wars deluxes are, let's just cut to the chase and make a drill, a submarine, and a fire truck to go along with the existing helicopter mode. They immediately get 2 uses out of them, plus the drill could be from Nosecone (I'm a believer!!!), the Fire truck could be for Inferno with a crane remold for Grapple, and the Submarine could be for Seaspray or Depth Charge or whoever since we've oddly not had many Transformers submarines (if any outside of Microns/Mini-Cons) ... or it could be a new hovercraft mode for Scourge so that we can do Galvatronus right with 4 Sweeps.
