With Quillfire, a bunch of quills can be flipped out of his back to give him a show accurate look. He even comes with an extra quill (along with a gun) that can be held as a knife and stored onto his back among his other quills.
These two figures are from Wave 6 of the Robots in Disguise Warrior Class and are due for retail release between Q1 and Q2 2016. Feel free to click on any picture to be brought to their extended gallery.

Menasor and Defensor only had five members, not six, and none of them were chestplates. So Takara threw all of the Legends class molds (Powerglide, Shrapnel, Bombshell, Cosmos, and these two) into the Adventure line where they are officially ignoring any and all playability between them and the Combiners.Stuartmaximus wrote:+ Why are they porting two molds(Groove, Blackjack/Rodimus) over to RID? I can't see them running out of ideas for figures already? especially when there's still a ton of Decepticons that still could be released in toy form.
& those two molds other feature to become a chestpiece would be a non plus! as they wouldn't be able to work that way with existing &/or current RID figures
Smart move by takara. Powerglide made one stupid looking gun and the whole chest plate idea was dumb to begin with. Everybody talked crap about it on TFC Uranus with phantom ray but when Hasbro does the same thing now everybody loves it.
Well the problem with Phantom Ray is that he's pretty floppy and doesn't work well as a chest plate. Personally I think he was a great idea and I'd buy him if they ever made him separately available.
It looked horrible on menasor with his chest doors opened up creating a hollow shell surrounding the car which wasnt even symmetrical.
Asymmetry is an underrated thing. Plus it was a neat homage to the original toy's car drone. The problem with him was that he doesn't hold on very well.
And groove was stupid as a chest plate too like Hasbro said "if we dont make him a leg WTF should we do with him ?"
Nah man. He looks pretty good as a chest plate, and it makes a lot more sense than him being a limb. Plus, it was only a matter of time before that dirty hippy Groove made way for the REAL hero- Protectobot "Cook the Crook" Rook and his fist of justice.
As far as im concerned its the Override mold and Groove is the lazy repaint lol. Now to find him some guns...
First our lord and saviour Alpha Bravo, and now poor Groove? I don't think you quite understand how repaints work.
(I agree that Override needs some big ol' chromed up guns though.)

Quillfire though...I like him. I like him a lot actually. That said, ironically enough, I don't like his weapon. I mean, it's cool and all, and I like the fact it stores in vehicle mode, but it's kinda small. I might get on ze Shapeways and make him a new weapon styled on an oversized version of the Needler from Halo. It would be appropriate.

Quillfire's an offroad truck, Strongarm's an SUV.
Meanwhile...
That's a much closer match.

i was referring to Quillfire as mud bogger bulkhead, but since you bring it up: Strongarm is the Bulkhead from a universe where everything is backwards except for good and bad. smart to not so smart, male to female, lithe yet beefy to outright bulky, rule breaker to rule enthusiast....

All three are straight-up repaints of their previous incarnation in the line, which can be found as comparison in the galleries (and also here, here, and here), though to varying degrees of extent: Drift and Optimus have a complete shades of blue overhaul, while Bumblebee receives some highlights and minor touches. Check them all out by clicking on any of the images below!

Simpler version in the line, in both articulation and transformation, these figures literally do what they say in the title, and change in three steps, though are also known under the Hyperchange Heroes monicker. In addition, Bumblebee is the inevitable black redeco of a previous figure, found here.
And just because one (of several) Thunderhoof isn't enough, also included in the update is Takara Tomy Transformers Adventure TED-12 Thunderhoof, the Japanese counterpart to the Hasbro One-Step. Check out the comparisons, poses, pics and more by clicking on any of the images below!

I was hoping to get Fracture with a $50+ order on HTS for the free shipping, but with Vortex not showing up and with that me getting the limbs elsewhere, I may have to wait until hopefully onslaught shows up and he, Crosscut, Huffer, Pipes and Fracture can go together

Slipstream and Divebomb are directly from the show, in their vaguely humanoid robot forms, while wolf-like Sawback and unsurprisingly dragon-esque Dragonus are expansions to the Deployer figures. In addition, each Mini-Con pack comes with coloured clear plastic armour pieces, applicable to a variety of figures outside of the one the come with, and can combine with other pieces for an entirely new teeny tiny robo-creature. I'm not a purist for the most part and I'm starting to match up some of the odd ones with other figures as lil tag along toadies. For example: the Scorch Strike Beastbox is chilling with Gen Wreck Gar, they match up quite nicely. Sandsting is with a bunch of random insecticons.
I also find the rolly polly ones to be the most fun. Backtrack has all of my love right now his energon weapons really make the figure.

My son was totally excited (especially now that Dad's advice about "keeping all the little parts where you can find them" has paid off)
My only question is---this appears to be an intentional design, not a fan build. How would one come to know this existed if it were not in any instructions anywhere? I would think, somewhat like the Marvel "build-a-figure" action figures, this would have added incentive to collect them all. It was just chance (well really my sons desire to have them all), that we got them.

It would have been pretty cool if they could have employed a more generic/universal connector system to encourage more creative play.
As it stands I Have the two energon beasties built, some of the armor/weapons pegged in and the rest in a tin.

Wave 1 and 2. I wanna say wave 1 builds the lion and wave 2 builds the shark.

These exra figures are really cool and bring a whole new layer to the idea of Transformers toys (the build a figure aspect) and I find it extremely well done. I love how everything fits perfectly together.
And yes, this was fully intentional and planed out (and well executed). While this was not in the instructions, it was stated in the Hasbro Panels at conventions. The people who got these early figured out these configurations based on the official announcements and the message has spread across the itnernet. I still find it sad that many kids out there would loveto know of this but since they dont know where to look or dont go onlie are not aware of this possibility.

This new Deployer figure can fire the new minicons which turn into balls, called cyclones. This should come as good news to those who already bought these new minicons, through the four pack for instance, and seeking extra playability.
This is also the very first toy release of the new character, Overload, who will be introduced in season two of Robots in Disguise. With the recent New York Toy Fair reveals, it appears this will be the only toy class to have this character, at least for the near future. This Deployer pack should be available at retail very soon.
Have you been buying the Deployer figures? If not, would this figure be your first? Let us know!
