It is time for another entry into the galleries of Seibertron. The big bad himself Megatron comes to you in high quality pictoral form. This is the G1 deco of Combiner Wars Leader Class Megatron inspired by his G1 animation model. Megatron comes with stickers to make him either a Decepticon or Autobot (see semi recent issues of the IDW comics for that story) as well as G1 details. You can also check out the retooled Armada version as well. As always, click the images below to see the full galleries.

Nice. Likin the Lost Light love you threw in there. Can't wait to get that with an updated Ultra Magnus and Cyclonus.

The insignia thing is weird and annoying, not because I'm against Autobot Megatron, but because they included a sticker for :CON: even though they painted that on, and they painted that right below where I'd prefer the insignia and on top of silver paint so I can't just wipe it off.

Where the tampo'd :CON: symbol is is where G1 Megatron's chest :CON: symbol has always been. They just shaped the torso on this toy awkwardly to warp the proportions of the G1 chest design into making the main part of the chest smaller and the typically insignificant part directly above it much bigger.

It really is a weird design choice considering that even the comics don't have the chest drawn like that.

Ah, I see it now. It IS pretty bizarre, especially compared to the screencap BERSEKAEL posted.

I hadn't planned on getting G1 Megs, but thanks to these galleries, I might have to! The only thing that really bothers me about his design is those FEET. It's like the designers gave up by the time they reached them and said "Eh.....two big chunks of plastic are foot-like enough. Let's go get a beer!"

Yep, looks great in both modes. Well done, G1 Megs. You finally have a great looking toy and it only took you three decades or so.

Don't let those feet deter you. They're one of the cooler parts of his transformation, actually. Just think of how much better even those feet are compared to OG Megs.

Something I think would have been cool to see in this gallery, but fully understand why it wasn't seen, is a set of comparison pics between this toy and the last G1-esque Leader Megatron toy: The Animated Leader Megatron. Until this toy came along, that one was considered arguably the best G1-looking Leader class Megatron toy, so seeing that one and this one together would have bee a cool "passing of the torch" moment between the two. :D

Image
I love this shot. Though it's just meant to be between the first Generations Autobot Leader class toy and the first Generations Decepticon Leader class toy, it happens to align with the old European pack-in comic from Milton Bradley that had Jetfire as the Autobot leader instead of Prime:

Wow that one looks really good. I always wished the original G1 Megatron was a tank in Alt mode. The gun mode did give it a rich lore with him able to be handled by other deceptions. I just always found him lacking in gun and robot modes for the original G1 toy so I actually traded him away when I was a kid. The next generation of fans will definitely love this.

So elated I found one today, as stores have only been getting a case of one each, and armada and a G1, and for once my timing was perfect enough to get it before it was gone. Posted the pic to the seibertron Facebook page.

Great figure even if his poseability is limited, but he s a good compliment to masterpiece prime until I can set aside a few bucks for Apolyon.

I like everything about this figure except for the red connectors that are used for the arms. There much too lanky.

This Friday, Seibertron.com is proud to present some refreshed galleries to older installations for Transformers Generations Combiner Wars Menasor and Superion! The Stunticons, making up most of Wave 2 in the Motormaster Voyager and Offroad, Breakdown and Dead End Deluxes, plus Legends Blackjack, join Wave 1 Dragstrip to form the horned gestalt with a sword, and just in time for next week's IDW Opening Salvo.

Similarly, the last addition from Wave 2 to the Aerialbots, Air Raid, can finally become a limb for Silverbolt's torso mode, and together with Alpha Bravo, Skydive and Firefly, plus Legends Powerglide, become Cybertron's (and Starscream's?) main defence. Click on any image below to view the full galleries, updated and reframed, and now including even more comparison shots with previous versions of the characters from G1!

Re: New Gallery: Combiner Wars Leader Class Megatron (1662406)

The main problems with both Menasor and Ultra Prime in comparison to Superion are the proportions of their torsos. Superion's torso used the brilliant move of turning Silverbolt upside-down to make Silverbolt's arms become Superion's thighs, and Silverbolt's legs form the upper torso. This made for a much better-proportioned torso overall with Superion's thighs being reasonably small but not too small and his upper chest being adequately shaped without being too bulky. And above all, Superion's waist is a good distance below his chest thanks to Superion's torso being (for lack of a better tern) tall enough.

Ultra Prime and Menasor, however, do not have the innovative luxuries that went into the design Superion's torso, as they both instead go the classic G1 toy route of having Optimus and Motormaster remain upright and have their lower legs become the combiner's thighs their arms form part of the combiner's upper chest. This results in a torso that has HUGE thighs formed by big chunky lower legs, a very WIDE upper chest with quite a distance between its shoulders, and the waist (piece) being directly under the chest instead of being further under it, making both Menasor and Ultra Prime have incredibly SQUAT torsos overall with no bellies.

I would've liked to have seen some static poses with the limbs being swapped. Curious to see what Breakdown and Off Road looked like as the arms. As well as seeing Dead End as a leg. :-?

Just wondering... has anyone figured out why Breakdown's purple gun/foot/hand accessory uses a slightly duller purple than the other Stunticon accessories (and indeed his own thumb)? Seems like a strange choice, if it's deliberate.

Menasor's and Ultra Prime's main problem lays in not being able to ecstatically extend the upper body. Superion achieves this by merging the legs with Silverbolt's body, but Menasor has no such luxury.

Posted by Rated X on March 13th, 2015 @ 1:43pm CDT
Menasor looks so much better when both car hods on the shins are flipped foward the same way. Im glad you have that option. But Menasor looks a whole lot better with the hips straight down instead of to the side like the instructions tell you to do. It makes him a little taller than Superion but whatever. I hope somebody makes a better head for Menasor with proper antennas instead of those silly horns. It looks like they came off the hood of Boss Hoggs Cadillac.

So true, this is a very disappointing figure/combiner. The proportions are just too off to look good. The upside is that the individual vehicles modes aren't too bad looking.

He really isn't that bad. The gallery is showing him the way hasbro intends... which doesn't do him any justice. Look around the web, watch some reviews, fans are figuring out ways to make him look waaay better. The head sculpt is awesome imho.

Breakdown feels very weak to me... It says a lot that TFSS Breakdown, a redeco of the by now ancient Sideswipe mold, has my favor over the CW Breakdown.

Offroad, on the other hand, looks well proportioned, solid, and I simply love face sculpt. Plus, the hood behind his head adds a good deal of character. The non-G1 team members are 2 for 2 so far.

I know the standard limb arrangements for these guys, but I'm honestly going to swap Dead End and Breakdown. Dead End's front end comes up just like Offroads, and that really works since it hides Motormaster's robot mode feet while forming nice "Knee-pads". A similar situation for Superion: Alpha Brave and Firefly make nice legs with no kibble really sticking out that far while Air Raid and Skydive have wings that stick out farther, and I like those protruding kibble bits better on the shoulders.

Also, so long as Megatron truly shows to have changed, I'm going to put those Autobot symbols on him. I like Autobot Megatron a lot. Roberts has done a great job with him.
