The Bumblebee movie Optimus Prime design has caused quite a stir since it debuted in the Bumblebee film back in 2018, and we have had the pleasure of getting both a transforming Studio Series toy and a prior Deluxe ThreeZero figure of this design. This new take by ThreeZero is a larger and even more premium version of their original deluxe Optimus Prime, featuring a diecast metal frame, over 140 points of articulation, and it stands an impressive 19 inches tall (so on par with Combiner Wars Devastator in terms of height, and certainly it will be heavier).
While we only have the 1 teaser picture provided by ThreeZero, we will certainly see more images and get more information soon.
Check out the teaser below, and let us know what you think in the comments section below!

As you might recall, we have news that they were preparing to do the full reveal, and the full figure itself does not disappoint. This impressive action figure stands 19 inches tall, the same height as Combiner Wars Devastator pretty much, and features a mind boggling 140 points of articulation. He also features insane detailing like we have come to expect from our live action heroes, as well as some LED light up effects.
He is expected to hit stores next June in 2021, and is retailing for around $500 USD. Check out some images of the impressive beast below, and let us know what you think in the comments section below!

D-Maximal_Primal wrote:This reveal makes no sense. It's a highly posable action figure of the siege cartoon figure, who is itself based on the CAD of the siege toy. so basically, a non-transforming Siege Prime with an ab crunch and interchangeable hands.
weird
You got it right though, this is based on the character we see in the media, as they did with their other Optimus Primes, all based on how they appear onscreen down to the very detail. It just so happens that this time around, the media was based directly on a toy.
So yeah, it becomes beyond redundant, but at least we can get the pattern they are going for in their releases.
megamanfan wrote:just... just paint the seige figure for like $6. and keep it's ability to transform. i get high-end action figures for Tarn and the like, but when you're LITERALLY just taking the design of an already existing figure, what is even the point?
As I wrote above, they maybe don't even know a transforming figure is out there. To them they are taking the design of an onscreen character model.

I'd rather it look like it's certainly worth the money (like the 3A DOTM Optimus or the Bumblebee movie version) than have a figure that's basically the same but bigger, has the transformation pieces glued shut, has some added details, and adds a few more points of articulation here and there.Emerje wrote:For all the people complaining about this Siege Prime, it wasn't made for you. This was made for the same people that buy $400 action figures regularly, people that don't care about alt modes, people that don't "play" with their toys, people that just want a cool looking figure for their $5,000 shelving wall. If you bought the original Voyager figure then you're probably not that person.

They really hit Bumblebee Movie characters out of the park - DLX Bumblebee, Blitzwing, and Optimus are all fantastic. I'm sure this will be very nice, but still...
Branching out to other corners of the Transformers universe feels like a waste of effort when Dropkick and Shatter desperately need some love in the DLX line to round out the Bumblebee cast.

I like the use of color though with the orange wires and gold hidden throughout. It’ll be some nice reference for when I paint my SS Jetfire.
If ThreeZero does an 07/ROTF/DOTM Bumblebee in the DLX line I think I’ll seriously consider getting it.

For those who love big diecast action figures? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
In my own opinion, ThreeZero figures make more sense for characters that just cannot have a transforming toy that is 100% media accurate because magic don't exist. Like Bayverse bots or ultra-cartoon accurate ones.
In that regard, the WFC 3-0 figures are a bit baffling. It still make sense if you love the designs and want something truly "premium" instead of a "simple small plastic" toy.

However the problem I have with this series is that the cartoon characters these are based on are slavishly based on the existing Siege toys. Because of that, paint aside these high quality/high price figures don't look that much better than the $30-40 toys that they are ultimately based on.
ThreeZero really shines when taking characters that are hard to render, like the Movieverse characters, and making extremely detailed and articulated action figures out of them. No Hasbro toy has ever really captured the look of a movie character because they are too detailed and weren't designed with transformation in mind. However the ThreeZero toys look like those movie characters stepped off the screen.
By comparison these WFC figures just look like they busted out of their boxes on the shelves of Walmart.
