And Octane/Tankor looks worse now, his wings are shrinking!
I hope Prowl at least gets his missiles painted... didn't previous pictures show him with a gun? I don't know, but that Crosswise disguised as Jazz is the best looking figures in that bunch, evenrthough i dislike that mold.

These are not only horrendously mistransformed, but they are obviously painted prototypes, the final product will probably look much, much better.
Need more proof these figures are in mangled forms? Compare the photo of Botcon Blur to any Armada Blur repaint from the galleries and its easy to tell that this guy cant transform his toys at all.
While promising these pictures aren’t good for anything.

Either that, or Hasbro has really screwed the pooch on paint applications...
My thinking? The "good" pictures are photoshoped colors. The "bad" ones in this thread are the Hasbro colors.

I like the old ones better

I find Tankor's HEMTT tuck mode a little disappointing. I have to see him in person before any conclusions can be made. But Prowl is the best of the bunch.

You mean this guy?
He is Botcon exclusive Blurr. Won't be released in Universe
And yes Jazz is supposed to be in Universe in later waves.

It's a club exclusive like Airrazor and Astrotrain.Bumblethumper wrote:The Nightbeat homage on page 3 is very nice. Anyone know if that's botcon exclusive or mainline?

Club Exclusive. No Headmaster Gimmick though. However since he is based on Energon Hot Shot's Mold. He has the ability to combine with any of the Deluxe and Voyager Autobots form that line.

I really dislike Sunstreaker's legs, I just think they look bad and Octane looks to have dodgey leg design(his feet) too.
I'm sure the finished products will look alot better and I'm still looking forward to getting all the new Classics molds but maybe not as much as I once was.

The "good" pictures you referenced look either photoshopped as you mentioned or painted plastic. The "bad" ones look like the typicl Hasbro colored plastic. Sunstreaker's yellow plastic looks almost identical to Bumblebee's yellow plastic. I wouldn't be surprised if these are close to the real thing. It's too bad the engine exhaust from the grey prototype has been removed.
I am disappointed with Octane. The bottom of the plane looks horrible. It looks like the plane is on a sled. The back of the plane doesn't look too much better. It's too bad the windows are now painted in truck mode. They looked a lot better in the clear prototypes.
Posted by Sylus on March 23rd, 2008 @ 8:07pm CDT
Anyways those new pics look like someone had plastic diarrhea and that was the aftereffect. I'm sure the Hasbro releases will look a millions times better. I doubt even Hasbro would release products that look that bad.

Hope they're mistransformed.
Posted by Down_Shift on March 23rd, 2008 @ 10:33pm CDT
You can tell just by the texture of the yellow plastic used for Sunstreaker. Very brittle and thin looking. Known to be used for early mock figures and test shots. I'm also wondering if that Blurr is suppose to have that wonky eye. Wait, can't remember if he has a creepy eye or not.

HMM, I have a week old ham in my fridge, it has transformed into something, however as it it MSIB in it's origional tupperware, I can't tell you what the alt is.
I'm betting it's a Maximal since it's furry though.
Since you seem to crave anything with TRANSFORMERS slapped on it, what would you give me for this one of a kind exclusive!?!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Seriously folks, send a message to HAS/Tak, if you don't like something, don't buy it!
Your dollar is your vote, dont be afraid cast it to asking for better.
Posted by Bumblethumper on March 23rd, 2008 @ 11:08pm CDT
It remains to be seen whether production quality of such a low caliber will change my mind. If worst comes to the worst, I guess we can just cross our fingers and wait to see how the Takara releases turn out.
Posted by Sowndwave76 on March 23rd, 2008 @ 11:20pm CDT
Even with bad photos, mis-transformations, etc.,
they just seem a little meh.
Of those 3, I think Prowl looks the best.
And I still think Tankor will be pretty sweet.
Sunstreaker's chest/body just look too flat and simple to me.

Oh man I'm sorry to see Harbro yet again reusing that pitiful Crosswise mold.
And on a main character like Jazz.
Words cannot express my disappointment. Universe Classics is starting to look like it's gonna suck.

His Classics release won't be using that mold I'm sure. That's a botcon exclusive mold right there, his Classics 2.0 mold should be an original.

i agree with you there mate, they definately look like KO's.
i'm not worried.

Don't fret your final product will not look like that. It will be much closer to the promo pictures you saw for Toy fair, and the REAL pictures that Ryan took there.
Do we overreact much?

MISB you say? Well, I'll offer you $250 for such a collector piece. That would include the cost of shipping, by the way. Consider my offer well, Liege....

And the Hasbro pics are always touched up a bit on their website. Been that way since the release of Armada. They're accented to show detail. take a look back though the years and you'll see what I mean.
Sheesh!!

You know Hasbro out sources their photography? As in they don't take their own pics, which is why we usually see mis-transformed figures showing up on Hasbros product pages. As for the detail being higher in those pics, again yes, they are promotional pieces used for well, promotion of a new product. Ever wonder why the figure on the back of the box looks so different from what comes out of the box?

Exactly.
I know that, but it seems everyone else is taken back by the pics on ACtoys.

Weird isn't it? I'll just take them at face when I see them on a shelf at Wal-mart. Takes the "worry" out of it.

KO before the items have even been released? Sounds like Hasbro has worse security issues than I tought.

Yes, its confirmed Jazz's Universe Release will be an all new mold. those two Crosswise repaints are both Botcon Exclusives.

Hopefully these are the legends otherwise I will be very stingy with my money. But I doubt Hasbro will care less as long as they are making money they will continue to jerk us around.

Then when he was released and I bought him at TRU the detail was non-existent. And what happened to Prowls police lights? Where is the red and Blue from the Mold? Whats with the Boomerang look for the lights?

The legends are all Cybertron repaints, these are the unfinished toys and they are horrendously mistransformed (does anyone remember those first pics we saw of TFA Grimlock with his arms flailed out everywhere?).
