AWESOME MOLD!! I dont even care if hasbro dumb down his color scheme or make 3 repaints of him
Knock Out:
I like the catalog scan with him being in the metallic red. Now, I thinking about canceling my pre order and jus go and find me a hasbro version to color and paint him myself
SS:
It got a better weapon but i settle for my Hasbro Version
** Looking at Breakdown again....I kinda want a all gray or green version of him so I can pretend he is THE HULK or stick a rubber horn on him and call him Rhino..lol **

Someone sacrifice a dozen Bumblebees to Hasbro. Surely that will please them enough to release Breakdown here in the US.

Just to be on the safe side, I'm gonna go ahead and order the Japanese version. I can't worry about Hasbro screwing us or giving us maybes.
But why...WHY must they screw with the Deluxes so badly? Geez.

Breakdown is looking good, but I'm worried about his backpack. I can't figure out how he transforms, and it looks like a lot of his vehicle mode may end up back there. His micron looks really good as a hammer. Probably better than whatever Powerizer weapon Hasbro's going to give him.
Starscream's stickers do not help him, I have to say. I think the Hasbro version wins this round.

If it's never released in Europe, I may have to check with ToyzandGamez or Kapow.

Ironically Knock Out is one of the least appealing deluxe's, largely down to the lack of paint.
Posted by Sodan-1 on May 30th, 2012 @ 6:40am CDT
Breakdown's simply stunning. If he doesn't get an RiD release then someone at Hasbro's gonna bleed.
Arms Micron Knockout isn't as shiny as the magazine shots made him appear. It looks like I'm back on the hunt for RiD Knockout.

WolfDawg wrote:The fact that we've had so much info on the Takara version of Breakdown and gotten NOTHING from Hasbro has be very nervous. Given Hasbro's track record of screwed over fans on an epic scale, I think I'll preorder the Takara version...
That is true. I may end up getting the Takara as well, but when I get the chance, I'm preordering FOC first.

though i wouldn't be surprised if hasbro gets him some ridiculous weapon.
if he gets released at all, that is. it's been awfully quiet regarding rid voyagers from hasbro.

to my eyes his back looks similar to deluxe ratchets where there's one flat panel. the back of his shoulders have a little kibble too. but i think he he looks fantastic.
hasbro would be really stupid if they don't release this to the US.. but then again, we all know that they're not above being incredibly stupid.

While OP still looked decent in CGI form (though I still don't like the overly bulky design) the toy is certainly not something I'd buy.
On the TFP front, Breakdown is all kinds of awesome, and thankfully G1-ish enough to blend in with my Classics/Generations/MP collection. I'm seriously cherry picking with the PRID line, so any of the figs I get will be absorbed into my other collections.
Arcee and Vehicon will be be only exceptions, as they'll be forming a diorama on my desktop.

I honestly prefer Hasbro's Knockout, lesser of two evils in my eyes.
Takara Starscream doesn't have missiles? i'd rather get the dopey weapon from hasbro and keep the missiles than get the Micron and stickers. FAIL

shoulders are half the front cab and will probably
have the same deal as FE bulk reversed; arms half
the body.
Both Breakdown and Wheeljack seem out of place in
the RID line. Holdovers from the First Edition line?
Wheeljack is huge compared to the current RID deluxes
and he has the gorilla arms...
Breakdown has no powerizer clear crap nor the molded
ports. Looks like they just molded a new micron for
where his normal hammer would be and of course the
gorilla arms.
It's hasbro so expect an inferior mold with clear crap
and wacky weapons when they release breakdown
domestically. Glad I've already preordered him.

I have all the Wave 1 and 2 RID deluxes, and I can verify that Wheeljack is the same size as all of them. Actually he's a little more squat than some of them. And the gorilla arms are fairly accurate to his show model.

I'm pretty sure I see clear plastic in the elbows. The micron ports on his forearms are probably covering some clear plastic as well.

The mold will be identical, save the lack of micron ports and the presence of more paint apps instead of stickers. Whatever glowy weapon they give him can easily be left off and I have no doubt Dr. Wu or someone on Shapeways will concoct a more accurate hammer for him. And that's assuming the micron isn't made available on its own.

the pull the arms or backpack back to release his
head gimmick, and his alt mode is huge. I don't
have a second thought displaying him and soundwave
with the first editions. Every other RID figure
has some sort of cheapness or does not feel like
a worthy deluxe figure. The other figures don't
have the same quality.
If there has to be clear plastic, I hope it is
like bulkheads and not to invasive. Not being
able to see it from the pics is a good sign.
I do see the ports after a retake. The horror...
I don't think I'd ever be ok in buying 3rd party
upgrades that would cost half (or more) of what
the figure would cost. I'd rather have
something decent come with the figure.
I suppose we are stuck with paint apps with wacky
weapons(if he releases domestically) or
stickers with the slightly less wacky microns.

Nor does Soundwave.pfcparts wrote:WJ doesn't have hollow legs or arms,

Not really.pfcparts wrote:and his alt mode is huge.
That just means WJ and SW were given special treatment in the design process. They're still RID figures regardless.pfcparts wrote:I don't

He does have Micron ports. You can see at least one in vehicle mode.pfcparts wrote:I do see the ports after a retake. The horror...

Unlike FE Cliffjumper
doesn't have the pull the arms or backpack back to release his

Because his head reveal gimmick is pushing the chest panel up.
and his alt mode is huge
Same size as the other RID cars.
I don't have a second thought displaying him and soundwave

Nor should you. My Prime shelf is a mix of RID and FE figures, I'm sure most people's are.

I don't like it either, but Hasbro's priorities are different from ours. Their goal is to make toys for kids that look like the show characters, not to make slavish reproductions for notoriously picky adult fans.
