Pity, as I really would like a G1 Prime for sentimental reasons; but have always ended up getting a different Prime instead for accuracy reasons (MP, RM etc) ...
Maybe one day.
Hey... and ARE THOSE TWISTY TIES I SEE HOLDING OP IN!?
Why is Takara using those!? I'd always loved Takara for NOT using those!

More of the same crapola.
Rather than getting an original release, we are once again saddled with the same damn core characters who've been released 3, 4, even 5 times since the turn of the century between Japan and America.
In case you haven't noticed, I'm angry. Why? This is bullshit.
There isn't even anything special about these releases.. And if there were, I'm sure we'd have heard of it by now if it were all that great.
The collection figures were so damned much better.....
I'll pass. Maybe next year, b/c it takes these people forever to release these g1 figs, they'll have something original.

Bonger wrote:I believe the idea he is to have a real reissue with the original packaging and all. I personaly did not like the Collection stuff with all the extras and modified pieces. Now that, imo, is crap. This is how a reissue should be done, based on the info we have received so far. When I see them IRL, who knows, maybe I won't feel the same. However, if they really are exact replicas, this is definately the way to do it.
These aren't exact replicas, the first dead give away are the twist ties...
As far as modifications, I'm unaware of *any* on the collection figures. The US released figures had them....Maybe you mean Masterpiece Megatron? Or the reissue of Megs that was already released this year? If that's the case, this Megatron won't be any different. It'll have to be modified just the same.
Besides, when I stated earlier that these figures have seen multiple releases, that INCLUDES the 'original packaging' version.
I have the original package Prime reissue that I scored WAAAAY back in Botcon 01, and he's been reissued at least 3 times since. Got 'original package' Starscream and Megatron shortly thereafter. Again, both whom have been reissued 2-3 times since..
Enough of this crap... Finish up those gorgeous collection boxes... Give me a Dinobot, a gestalt collection style giftset, whatever.... Just give these people an F'n REST.
In closing, you guys do realize that Megatron has already been reissued once this year....... This making the 2nd time.
You'll also notice from a quick browsing of various toy shops, that it hasn't sold............

So I've been in need of a new OP. It might as well be this one. The Tampo sticker is a good idea. Silver roller, seems neat. Bloated gun, good.
Well, I guess that I now have to find the cheapest Pre-order. I like BBTS, they have great cust serv. Has anybody else seen this for Pre-order for a cheaper price?

reissue Tf have been a godsend for many fans, my gen 1 collection is entirely reissue save the dinobots and my diaclone 'jazz'. The takara line has been consistently great in both collection boxes/vintage style, the only toy that was a severe let down was collection #1 jazz who had that horrible resculpted face and just felt so flimsy. Seems he was done using the gen 2 mould. the rest feel great although the USA/UK hasbro versions that ive seen eg the seekers are looser in construction that takara starscream for eg.

That rocks hard.
I have always hated that you have to put stickers on over that area of Prime's arm. Those little rivit bumps make keeping the stickers there next to impossible in the long run.

Try tfsource.com.
I've ordered once from em before and was quite pleased with the price and shipping. I think I got the Santa Commander and THS -02 Convoy.
As for as my contribution to 'whining' on the board, I think in this case I have just cause. Again, we get maybe 4 reissues per year. Thus far 07 has been a ROYAL bust...

Not that it really matters, I'm sure he'll be a little too expensive for me to think about. I have a G1 and G2 Op, so I'm pretty set there.
I'm all for reissuing more than once (I think those reissue Megatrons would fly off the shelves if they weren't so friggin' expensive!), but I wish they would do other characters. Maybe less Ops and Starscreams would mean more Trailbreakers and other second stringers.

I completely agree. Instead of reissuing under a new line they should've just continued with the Takara BOOKSTYLE reissues! Man it is so lame they are now "restarting" from the early ones which is mainly for the benefit of the n00bs, but what about the rest of us who've been loyal?!
Sh*t! Typical they start something but don't finish it! At this rate we will never see reissues for other G1 figs that ARE in demand which they do possess the molds for.
It would've been far more prudent if Tak/Has just reissued using the same designs and everything from the original bookstyles and then continued reissuing G1 figs.
I definitely will pass, especially at that pricepoint.

I'm not a G1 fan, but at these prices...you can get the core figures without breaking the bank. Not bad at $50.00 a pop.

What I really want to see is out of package Megatron

QFT. I feel the same way.
If this is true...it will be awesome.
Form follows function, baby!
Convoy will be mine!!!

Bjjer wrote:Im a noob and im glad these came out. The book reissue were to expensive for me so I could start fresh.
well it's weird because i agree since i missed out on the other reissues; HOWEVER, it IS true that they haven't finished the earlier reissue lines by releasing the completed sets, and as a result, these four have been reissued over and over again.
so i'm glad because i'm noob-esque and i want to get these, but i'm bummed out because they probably wont release all the ones they should.

Have to agree here, I'd like to see some other reissues like Trailbreaker and another shot at Ironhide perhaps.

I don't feel like paying 400-500 or more for a fort max, i would love a reissue other then the brave maximus one that came out in 2001 for RID. If it knocks down the value of the originals for the collectors then ohh well, it isn't about you and how much money your toy is worth. There are plenty of people that would be happy with saying, i payed 100.00 for this. it still wouldnt be original as it would have the current year stamped on it... but it would be nice for those of us that couldnt find it back in the day and don't want to pay a fortune to get one.
i sell on ebay also and know about the rarity of the things, but it wouldnt make me mad if i had a fort max for 450 selling and you could get a reissue for 120.00 There would still be someone that wanted the original and not the reissue..i wouldn't lose any sleep over it. esp if i didnt'pay anythign for it or got it at a auction or something. They never made enough of the primes when they reissued them and you could never find them. There are plenty more charectors to release and i am hoping for them. but hasbro has sucked ass when it comes to the reissues
