I think a line of early model vehicles would be awesome. Model Ts, maybe even a Zeppelin, a B-17...that would be awesome if they could do the alt-modes right.
I know the name of this plane but just can't think of it right now...and it's bugging the hell out of me.
EDIT: It's a P-38 Lightning by Lockheed! Finally remembered!
One other note: look at his torso very carefully then picture in your mind what bomber jackets looked like in WW2. His torso could be a stylization of a bomber jacket! Very, VERY cool figure.

I know-I searched quite a bit to try and find it before posting this. I'm still looking.
EDIT: Lockheed P-38 Lightning

I don't know why I thought this mold was Deluxe class. The fact that it's a Voyager is only making this figure that much more awesome! Plus, I'm really surprised that Hasbro went the extra mile to give this guy fists instead of just copping out and letting him have propellor hands.

If they make a zeppelin(blimp, whatever) I would most like to see them use the HOS Scourge design. That thing was wicked. Come to think of it, I don't think we've had a transforming blimp since the original Machine Robo days(seems like I remember a blimp gobot). As for this guy, bought on sight. never going to use the battle mask though, makes him look like a cgi grasshopper that would be voiced by steve buscemi. That didn't make much since, i've been getting tattooed on for the past 3 hours, I think I may be getting delirious. Back to the chair!

Still, bought on sight; '1943: The Battle of Midway' (despite occurring a year late) was always my favorite overhead shooter, and when G2 Rotor Force Ransack came out (the first vintage TF aircraft, an amphibious F4U-1A Corsair), I imagined the next year we'd see "Deluxe Rotor Force" guys with 2 launchers, warranting alt modes like PCC Searchlight's chopper mode, and a P-38 whose propellers ended up as shoulder launchers in robot mode. He may not be able to fire 'em, but for me this guy is a decade and a half overdue.
Also, the name Highbrow has really gone all over the place lately hasn't it? In Animated he was a stuffy Autobot elder due to the name, and now he's a young hot-shot pilot due to being the first TF with twin propellers! I love Headmaster homages, but I hope "Highbrow" doesn't get tossed around so much that it loses all meaning, like "Prowl" did starting in Beast Wars.

Plus, he's got 2 hand held chainguns to boot! Total win!
Hasbro's been doing really well with the hand-held weapons lately. Hope the trend continues!

Dangit! Why'd you have to go mentioning the jacket?!
Now I actually like this guy. If wasn't for that head, he'd be a buy for me.

Not to nit-pick or anything, but my great-uncle flew a P-38, so I know those aircraft like the back of my hand. This looks similar, but is not a P-38.
He looks to be something designed after a plane from Crimson Skies, the video game series.
EDIT: My bad, he's a Grokhovsky G-38, a Russian Concept aircraft:
Other then that, this figure is bought on sight.

The P-38 is one of the coolest aircraft of WWII.
However, @ the OP, and not to nitpick but, the P-38 wasn't just a bomber. It's a Attack Craft. Meaning it can fill multiple ground support roles. Also despite it's size and airframe the craft made a good interceptor and anti-air unit as well thanks to it's speed and firepower.

Much like the other classics/extended universe toys, it's close but not an exact replica . It's definitely inspired by the P-38. Hasbro doesn't want a law suit on their hands.

The face is ugly, the mask makes it even worse, the robot mode looks terrible with those propellers, and his vehicle mode doesn't look stable. (Though it is neat that they went old school for this one)
A giant pass for me. "meh" indeed.

He does however, look quite a bit closer to the G-38, like I said, I know P-38's like the back of my hand, and the plane just is not too similar.

Even if Lockheed-Martin licensed the F-22 Raptor for Starscream?

Good point, I highly doubt LM would care if they used the P-38...

He's not any one particular model in essence.

True, but take a look at the Grokhovsky G-38, he's practically a dead ringer for it.

I wouldn't be so sure. The front of the fuselage of that model is flattened, while Highbrow's is rounded:
Still, since he doesn't appear in the movie, I wouldn't be surprised if he really was a hybrid to avoid licensing fees.

I guess I always saw Springer as the autobot's chief swashbuckler, with a bit of an Indiana Jones/Han Solo-era Harrison Ford thing going on...

I love weird altmodes
I ADORE this guy. The P/G-38 design is a beauty, and his bot mode is impressive to me.

That would be so sweet. I was always fascinated with WWII planes as a kid, and I went through a Zeppelin phase too. Although I'm not sure if a Blimp/Zeppelin would work, it would probably end up being a shellformer of some type, like boats usually do. Planes are awesome though. I'd be all over a B-17, it was one of my favorites. Imagine a B-29! I'd love a Spitfire too...
