Site Sponsor Kapow-Toys has been kind enough to send us a copy of a document they received from TakaraTomy, soliciting thier upcoming Transformers Prime figures. Included are new Minicons meant for the TF: Prime line that turn into weapons for the figures.
Oh yeah, also there's Airachnid.
The full list is:
1) Autobots
Voyager Optimus Prime ( Powerizer Version )
Voyager Bulkhead ( Unknown Version, possibly Powerizer due to the light-up effects on his mace and arm )
RID Bumblebee
RID Arcee
RID Ratchet
2) Decepticons
Voyager Megatron ( Powerizer Version )
RID Starscream
RID Vehicon
RID Soundwave
RID Arachnid - alt mode confirmed as an helicopter.
3) Micron Weapons
Check out the pictures below, sorry for the poor quality on the minicon shot, it was blown up slightly to try and glean more information.

Ratchet looks cool, too.
And although you can't see much, I predict Airachnid is going to be awesome.

That's Soundwave I think, the vehicon is on the far right.

More minicons/microns. Yay. Wonder will they be in the show?

Having her robot legs fold up and spin around into her hindquarters to enable her to stand on her spider legs would be excellent.tigertracks 24 wrote:Looking forward to Airachnid. Hope she has a third mode...

Those arms-microns turn into the cannons and sword we saw on that First Edition Optimus Prime display from TakaraTomy on that recent toy expo!
This is all awesome news!
Can't wait to see what the Megatron will look like, hopefully it looks better than the Hasbro version.

I think they'll cut the spider mode out, altogether. I think she'll have the legs for looks in robot mode, but I highly doubt they'll be functional as anything but her rotor blades in vehicle mode.
If so, then Deluxe should work just fine. If she was a triple changer, then yeah, you're right, Voyager would be a better choice.
Although, Hasbro has surprised us in the past, they could pull it off. Might not look good, though.

It's not really a full on "spider mode" per se, but more like her robot legs just folding up into her butt.Autobot032 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Airachnid needs to be at least Voyager sized to accompany her spider legs' size. She's too big to be a mere Deluxe size.

But, I also say a Voyager would be more fitting for her since she's larger than a Deluxe character. She's almost as tall as Starscream, and he's getting a Voyager (Powerizer) later.

Hasbro, PLEASE bring these stateside. I don't want to pay out the nose when I could be paying my own home-court team Hasbro.

(we need a Waspinator going loco emote)
Airachnid is a must buy unless she looks really bad, and those Microns, ooh, very nice. Tunderwing is already calling dibs on that triple barrelled one.

(I'm chomping at the bit for this version of Prime and really want to know more details; I'm assuming availability is on 3/15.)

The Optimus in the picture above appears to be at least a slight retool & redeco of FE Prime. Note the silver stripe, and it looks like minicon ports have been added.

It's like exclusive PJ Harvey Optimus Prime with exclusive red high heel pumps.
Seriously, though. I wish the toys were MOAR different. I want more than just a tribal tampo... why not a G1 painted Prime, Ultra Magnus, Diaclone, Black Scourge deco, Purple SG deco....

The standard version has the same red heels.

Unfortunately, I think the decision on whether Hasbro makes a larger (Voyager or Leader) version of a character has little to do with scale, and more to do with the (perceived) popularity of the character.
That's why the movie line got HA, Leader, and Supreme versions of Bumblebee, but never larger versions of characters like Bonecrusher

And if last year's BotCon was any indication, she is very popular. A passing mention of her name by Hasbro when talking about the show at a panel resulted in many cheers from the audience.GuyIncognito wrote:Sabrblade wrote:

Those Microns... I'm so conflicted. PCC's microns were hurtful lies made of transclearent plastic doing yoga. Those picture look like actually they turn into stuff. I need some nice pictures of them to tell if they're doing the same with more detailing.

I'm still certain that's just the Japanese First Editon Prime with stickers added to his shoulders and minicons attached, but you could be right and it's remolded for minicon ports.
Anyway, Airachnid, awesome! Looking forward to seeing how she turns out. I wish they'd give her her spider mode but I'm not getting my hopes up. They could do it if they articulated the helicopter blades but it seems like they're trying to keep this line simple now.

I kinda wanted TF Prime,Airachnid,to be a voyager sized tripple changer. that had a robot, spider & helicopter modes. having a deluxe is kinda dissapointing.
Hopefully they don't create 2 deluxe toys for airachnid,a robot that turns into a spider. a robot that turns into a helicopter. I kinda wanted one voyager sized airachnid that was a tripple changer. with a robot, spider & helipcopter modes.
I can't wait for hasbro's NYC toy fair in february. I have a feeling it's gonna be awesome.

Should we assume that the RiD Starscream listed is the Powerizer version? Surely its not a third Starscream mold. Liking the looks of these new Minicons. Will almost certainly pick them up.

Something about the Magazines and DVD images tell me they would be a Japan exclusive
That magazine gives out free stuff with every month's issue, like the green ledgends starscream. If you were in HK or Japan, they would be quite affordable though, got an issue for $10 at 7-11 in HK, came with some free beyblade thing.

Yeap, as of that image it does seem like the same 1st ed one, with a chrome sticker. I own the tak. 1st ed one, and the colours are the same

We've seen her in a helicopter altmode, a bipedal robot mode, and a mult-legged "spider-humanoid" mode (which is basically her robot mode with her robot legs folded up into her butt).MINDVVIPE wrote:Uhm, as far as I know, we've NEVER seen Airachnid in any spider mode. She has just been a bot with many legs, and a cybertronian alt mode that we never saw. I have no problem with the Chopper alt mode, especially if they allow you to use the rotor blades to become legs for her bot (robot) mode, and to use for tunneling.
Helicopter
Robot Mode (two legs)
"Spider-Humanoid" Robot Mode (multi-legged)

She turned into a hybrid Robot/spider mode in the show a few times. Where she had her torso, robot arms and robot head, but her legs were transformed into a spider thorax and she was walking around on spider legs.
She also transformed into the chopper mode a couple of times if I'm not mistaken.

The minicons are pretty neat and seem to be made specifically for main characters. EG:
First Minicon - Arcees' blaster
Second Mincon - Primes' sword
Third Minicon - Bumblbees' blaster
Fourth Minicon - Cliffjumpers hand cannon
The pics to the left seem to confirm that. It's also pretty safe to say we'll not only see these stateside, but more then just these four in the fututre.

They're new moulds, not the tradiotional rainbow of colored repaints so they won't be exclusive to Japan. Although that's not to say they won't see a release there first.

BTW Does anyone know when the show is supposed to start up again?
Posted by Sabrblade on January 23rd, 2012 @ 10:48pm CST
I just hope her spider legs are long enough.MINDVVIPE wrote:Yea, I knew about the half robot/spider mode. Thats what I meant about if they allow the rotor blades to form her extra legs. I'm sure you can make that mode just by not transforming her robot legs out of copter mode... well, I'm hoping. I guess I assumed other people meant a full on spider mode instead of that hybrid mode.
February 18, the same day that Rescue Bots officially airs and that the 1986 G1 movie plays on the Hub.MINDVVIPE wrote:BTW Does anyone know when the show is supposed to start up again?

February 18
Ah crap, thats definitely something to worry about given Hasbro's tendancy to make short blades. If they package her in bot mode, there is probably a better chance that the legs will all fit. February is looking sweet, 12th and the 18th are on the calender.
