The Transformers "Dark of the Moon" Eggbods come in three different flavors: Eggtimus Prime, Eggatron, and Bumble Egg who are more affectionately known to us Transformers fans as none other than Optimus Prime, Megatron, and Bumblebee respectively. We were the first Transformers fansite to break the eggs news about these figures earlier this year at Toy Fair 2011.
EGGBODS IN DISGUISE!
EggBods are joining in on the battle between the AUTOBOTS and DECEPTICONS with the new TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON EggBods!
Based on the new Paramount Pictures live-action movie from director Michael Bay, and executive producer Steven Spielberg TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON, there will be three new EggBods to collect, including the fearless Eggtimus Prime, evil Eggatron and everyone's favourite Bumble Egg.
Mix 'n' match the TRANSFORMERS EggBods with one another to create crazy new characters like Prime Bumble or Bumbletron, or swap them with Classic EggBods such as Captain Hard Boiled and make characters like Captain Eggatron!
Available from June!

According to the Eggbods' Transformers page, these figures were awarded the 2011 Best New Toys at Toy Fair for the Pocket Money Category. I'm not sure if that's specifically for the Transformers Eggbods or for Eggbods in general.
These figures can be purchased in the US and Canada at Garden Ridge and Michaels or in Europe at Toymaster, Toys R Us, Hamleys, Smyths, and The Entertainer. For locations that carry Eggbods products, click here.

C'mon ... you guys are being too tough on these. These are "desk fodder" toys, or "hipster garbage" to other collectors. They're along the same lines of collectibles as Mighty Muggs, Robot Heroes, etc. They're just fun little representations of three of the most popular Transformers characters ever.
Instead of ripping on them because they're simply not your thing, some of you might take note that there was some TLC put into these products that shouldn't be overlooked. Bumblebee's got a uniquely molded additional arm cannon, each figure has a fairly detailed head sculpt for what these products are, Megatron's even got his head trauma, Megatron's got his weapon from the film (which the Voyager class version omitted), and Bumblebee and Optimus even have blue eyes whereas Megatron has red eyes.
Throw these guys a bone for coming out with a product like this. It might not be for you, but there's no need to be so harsh on them. They're fun little wind-up toys. As a fan during the 90s where we used to only get about 20 to 30 products per year, I'm counting my blessings as a collector that Transformers is so popular now that we get toys like Eggbods.

Just got an email back from Bluw saying that due to their license with Hasbro these products are not available in the US. I'll have to update the story to reflect this. Sorry about that, DISCHARGE.
