I don't understand why their making such a big fuss about these TF rides that are gonna open up worldwide.

By my standards, this isn't a ride. it's waiting in line a hour+. then you go into a movie theathre, sit down & have your movie theathre seat rock back & forth while you watch a 3-D Movie.

I've personally had a few bad experiences in various amusement parks in america. going to these amusement parks movie theathre 3-D Movie rides where the seat rocks back & forth. The only reasons we went on these movie theathre rides where the theathre seats rock back & forth rides is because my older cousin took us to the amusement park & he paid for everything. my older cousin is a star trek fan & also loves the broadway type live shows.

While your waiting in line in the 90 degrees plus summer weather, getting sun burned & sweating like a pig. the line progresses, you get to see walls painted or designed in the theme of the movie.

IMHO,This isn't a ride in a amusement park. by my standards,a ride in a amusement park is a ROLLERCOASTER ride. I wouldn't even label this as a kids ride,as their is zero danger of getting hurt & zero danger of getting nauseous or throwing up on the ride or after the ride is over.

These types of movie theathre rides where the theathre seats rocks back & forth are aimed at younger kids who are not older enough nor tall enough to ride the roller coasters.

Sometimes, space is limited in these amusement parks. So in order to create more new rides, they get rid of older rides. most of the time a old ride is torn down & a newer ride gets built in it's location. depending on the budget, they might keep some stuff from the older ride & intergrate it into the newer ride.

Yeah, but it looks like only modern stuff for sale. Too bad they can't make it like BotCon and have various vendors take turns selling vintage products there. ;)

Are you talking about where you walk in a room and sit down with a group of people and the whole thing rocks? If so, I don't think this is that - it seems to be taking after the far more popular ride type that is represented by the likes of DL Haunted Mansion (but more movement), US IoA Spiderman (but, again, more movement), and which atm seems to be best represented by US IoA Harry Potter area's "Forbidden Journey" ride. That is - you're strapped to a thing like a roller coaster cart, but sideways like aforementioned Haunted Mansion (but separate seats, not a bench). It's on rails like a roller coaster (and rotates and has the ability to move you like one), and varies from 3D sets to screens, and everything in between (4D elements like spraying water, heat from fire, smells, etc.)
No, it often doesn't get anywhere near the speed of a roller coaster, but that's not it's goal. Speed and g's are a roller coaster's job. It's indoors, and the goal is to immerse you in the experience as you're taken along for the ride.
I personally loved what they did with the Harry Potter ride and think that even if this TF ride were a step back to the spiderman or Haunted Mansion tech (which it highly likely won't be due to amusement parks all trying to outdo and/or keep up with each other), it would still be good, and probably even good for the franchise.
A roller coaster TF ride would most likely be an existing roller coaster that gets new tf themed carts and tf themed area, but the roller coaster remains much the same. It tells far less story, and is nothing more than an adrenaline rush themed to whatever the park owners think will draw in the crowds. This different type of ride can still give some rush, but not so much from physical movement, and more from what is actually going on around the rider. Like Indiana Jones, Pirates of the Carribbean, and all the countless other rides of that type, but even more intimate because no one is in front of you to block you from the action, and you may not even be able to see or reach to who ever may be next to you. Unless they're screaming at the top of their lungs...hehehe.
Anyway, people are far more impacted, memory-wise by these types of rides because it gives them things to remember that are more precise than "a double loop followed by a corkscrew!" Which is often more difficult for people to recall the experience of.
Basically, this ride'll stick with 'em and they'll sell more toys, both in the gift shop there, but hasbro will likely benefit a little outside of it too for anyone who ends up looking more into the brand because of it.

While the idea seems to have merit.

I can easily picture that eccentric/overly obbessive guy who owns the toy shop from that cartoon series called "Fan boy & chum chum." where the owner keeps watching the customers, only wants to sell his toys to who he thinks should own them & doesn't want his stuff to get damaged by customers. even going the extra mile to throw people out of the store.

The Transformers: The Ride portion of the Resorts World Sentosa blog has also posted an interview with ILM regarding their work on the ride. Click here for to read the full interview.

TRANSFORMERS The Ride enlisted the award-winning Industrial Light & Magic (ILM), a division of Lucasfilm Ltd., which created the visual effects for the movie franchise, to produce ground-breaking visionary special effects and 3-D images exclusively for the ride.

ILM has worked on nearly 300 feature films since its formation in 1975, including the TRANSFORMERS movies, Harry Potter, Jurassic Park as well as all four of the Indiana Jones films and all six of the Star Wars episodes.

ILM Singapore started in 2006 and has worked as a integrated unit with ILM San Francisco on such projects as the TRANSFORMERS franchise, Star Trek, Terminator: Salvation, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.

We found out more about the attraction from Jeff White, visual effects supervisor at ILM.

It wasn't. That's new footage created specifically for the ride. The ride is going to have its own story with its own footage.

Notice that Megs is in his ROTF body. If this is gonna take place int he movie timeline, it'll likely take place between movies 2 and 3.

Actually, I saw chains on him. Only meaning that this is him in his DOTM body.

Maybe this is just a bridge version where Megs comes back to life for TF4? (Please?)

On closer examination, you're right. The "claw" on his right arm threw me off. (Why does he even have that claw?)

Still, it'll probably take place between ROTF and DOTM since the Cons are no longer interested in the AllSpark by the time of DOTM, whereas they still showed interest in it during post-ROTF/pre-DOTM material.

And, you know, all the Cons were killed in DOTM. ;)

Cuz he was a little messed up in the head after Sentinel stuck his fingers in Megs' cracked skull.

Plus, by that time, Megs was sick of fighting the war and just wanted it to be over with. Remeber how he offered Optimus a truce instead of fighting him? Megs wants to stay in power, but he had grown weary of the constant warfare.

I'm gonna argue that Megs was a little scrambled back in Africa. Hail me, elephants.

BTW. Megs had a great portrayal in DOTM. Galvatron minus the violence.

Ooh, definitely sounds more like Frank Welker as Megatron ^^

(See Mr. Bay? Welker's voice *does* suit the movie Megs! Just needed a lower pitch! :P My word I sound like a G1'ner...!)

Yep, all the original cast from the live action movies is in it. I just wish I knew who EVAC's voice actor was though.

I haven't followed any of the news for this ride for a couple weeks now, and I must say, regarding the line queue previews, I KNEW SCORPONOK'S TAIL WAS GONNA BE THERE!!!!!!!! That ride queue looks to be quite impressive, and I'm very pleased about how EVAC looks, especially the battle damage.
I also knew there would be 3D glasses, but was still holding out hope that Universal wouldn't make them look the same as every other ride of theirs. I guess they get a good deal for buying so many of them in that generic design...?

Now, for the ride audio, the sound effects and voice acting were great. I'm really surprised that I'm liking this ride so much. I couldn't help but feel slightly embarrassed that BumbleBee only had a couple of lines that were the same as the movie(s). I was hoping that Mark Ryan would have done his voice instead. Small gripe, so I'm not really phased by this.

If the ride is really as much fun as it sounds and is pretty immersive from queue to boarding the cart, I'd have to say that Michael Bay should start having more involvement with rides rather than movies. actually, the more I think about it, the more it seems his *ahem* "skills" as director would be better suited for that type of experience.

Anyway, I'm patiently waiting for the Universal Studios Florida release to come. I wonder if it will be in the main park or IoA though... And what ride may be sacrificed for this. I'm hoping The Mummy will be killed since that ride killed my favorite ride ever there, King Kong. And The Mummy is pretty lame from beginning to end to begin with...

Also, SPOILER:
Devastator is in the ride? I'm hoping for something EPIC here!!!!! Also, please no close up of his testicular area..... That was a lame idea in RotF, I hope for no more of it.

Wheelie called him "Decepticon Sideways." Either this is one MASSIVE continuity error (assuming this takes place during the Bay continuity to begin with [more on that later...]) or SideSWIPE wasn't as good as he believed...or its a new 'Con with an old name. :BOOM:

Anyway, regarding continuity... Where in the continuity does the ride take place? Ironhide gave intel on Scorpinok's tail with "the rest of him...still out there waiting to strike."

Sooo...what happened in ROTF?

Also, Ironhide showed clips from DOTM's Chicago battle as historical footage, I believe. If that's the case, WHY AND HOW IS IRONHIDE STILL ALIVE?

Just where in the timeline does this take place in, if at all? :BANG_HEAD:

Also, Ironhide showed clips from DOTM's Chicago battle as historical footage, I believe. If that's the case, WHY AND HOW IS IRONHIDE STILL ALIVE?

Just where in the timeline does this take place in, if at all? :BANG_HEAD:
Well, originally, I was thinking between ROTF and DOTM. But now that you've brought this up, I'm gonna now have to guess that it exists within its own micro-continuity separate from (but still inspired by) the main movie timeline.

Umm, I think someone made an error. That's Sideswipe, an Autobot.

The average user won't know it but Transformers fans will notice it right off. Also, is that Peter Cullen voicing Optimus Prime? It sounds like someone else doing a Peter Cullen impersonation.

Wheelie called him "Decepticon Sideways." Either this is one MASSIVE continuity error (assuming this takes place during the Bay continuity to begin with [more on that later...]) or SideSWIPE wasn't as good as he believed...or its a new 'Con with an old name. :BOOM:

Maybe, like everyone else, they are pretending ROTF didn't exist. The only thing ROTF adds to the trilogy is Megatron's revival. Wheelie can be explained the same way they explained Brains, nothing at all, they are just there.

As for Chicago, they probably just show it as another city.

And the Matrix.

We saw the inside of Prime's chest in Movie 1. No Matrix there.

His chest opens slightly in the movie we don't see deep into him. You can just retcon that Prime always had the Matrix.

Bo-ring! >:oP

At least the events surrounding the Matrix were among the few (and I mean VERY few) exciting points in ROTF.

I agree with you on that but what I mean is that it isn't something that effected the story in DOTM if ROTF never existed. Having Megatron alive and well in DOTM is a huge continuity problem. Prime always having the Matrix, it works.

It will. It's supposed to open in the spring. I'm hoping by March. Haven't watched the que line video yet -not enough time.

It made me a happy fangirl to know that Ironhide is alive, if this taking place post-DOTM. It was an unnecessary "death" by Bay. And then Ratchet disappears for the rest of the movie until the very end. WTF. If Bay wanted to kill off some Autobots, why not the twins or the Wreckers, or someone who isn't apart of the main team?

But it just makes me happy that they realized that these are some beloved characters that they are using for the ride (except for Wheelie). I can't wait to experience this ride for my self.

Other than the Sideways/Sideswipe fail, this looks amazing. Grindor named and seen in the ride? YES THANK YOU! I love how some of the best characters are seen in the various briefings (Shockwave's cameo made me smile), and the shop looks really cool. Need to get me a Sideswipe T-shirt...
