We knew we would be getting a Bumblebee movie three pack for a while but we never had official images, and we weren't sure what line it was under. Well official images have surfaced up on the Snakas blog and we can see that this three pack is also part of the tribute line, which is an Amazon exclusive in the US. We also see the really cool box which has a window showing a garage scene. The words "Bumblebee and the Hive" can be seen on the packaging.

Agreed.Sabrblade wrote:That packaging alone is awesome.
Is it wrong I want this set, and may actually want to keep it misb?
Probably won't though. really want to experience those 2 classic bee molds that i've never handled. And of course new Bee.
Though handling may need to wait until my hand heals from its unfortunate accident, 5 weeks in a cast...

Not sure about the price in the US, but somewhere around 70$ based on the UK price and how that usually compares.

Granted, I'm not sure what molds I would have chosen as all the good Movie Bee molds were released fairly close together and with similar alt modes, but there's a fair few really good ones (07 Concept Camaro, HFTD Battle Blade, the DOTM mold and its wonderful gun, heck, even Nitro Bumblebee for originality's sake) and these seem like some of the more...forgettable molds.

Sorry, but I'm kind of a car need too and cannot ignore this classic mistake. It's a beat up 76 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. Just had to say.

It's fine. Hasbro can never decide what to put on the package, as they have it labeled wrong here too. I'd be quick to point out if they messed up a Japanese make/model/year, not so much on American vehiclesCybertronius Primus wrote:Sorry, but I'm kind of a car need too and cannot ignore this classic mistake. Sorry, but High Octane Bee looks bad like that, and so does the new mold, which actually is pretty good and finally has the mini wings on the deluxe scale and remembers that Nitro Bee had the wheels inside the ankles, something no other Bumblee other than the MP has gotten right.

On my end, I got rid of so many toys that I see no point of getting a batch like these. I'll try to limit my purchases on only relevant Transformers from now on.

A shame as that mold looks pretty cool. Sure it's not accurate but it looks...neat. Like, I kinda wish the movie model had looked more like that- blocky and classically robotic but still with the modern elements needed to make it look realistic.

I don't. I like this figure yeah but I was real pleased they managed to do one more like actual movie Prime's proper shape and proportions with the RotF figure cos I far prefer his design over super blocky Prime's anyway. There's been enough blocky Primes.

You monster! You're saying that poor Dion was cannibalised by his best friend Orion?
Kidding, kidding
Seriously though, I'm leaning more towards calling him "Barrelroller", after the eHobby Orion's Targetmaster.

You can have it for $30 shipped from amazon if you have prime, or $30 plus shipping if you don't. Much better than the $60 that it originally showed up for elsewhere.

Now THAT'S a price I'm willing to pay!
If only I had a credit card to order stuff online with.
If these things were available at Toys R Us, it'd be much better for me. Then I'd be able to price match it to Amazon's and be a happy camper.
But alas, it isn't so.

Here is what you can try. Start placing an order on Amazon just to see what they would charge for tax (if any) and shipping. Once you know your total, go to a Walgreens or similar store that sells the amazon gift cards. I'm guessing you would need to buy in $5 intervals, so hopefully your total would be just under $35 or $40, and you would basically lose the leftover change, or you can find something really cheap on Amazon to eat up the rest.
I have it and like both figures, and $30 for 2 deluxes is basically retail, if not slightly less.

One thing for sure is the most different one will be the classic '70s version.

That one time in Age of Extinction maybe? I honestly haven't watched AoE in like two years so I can't remember if he actually turned into the black vintage Camaro in the movie, but the figure that this is a repaint of came from that film's line, so I'm assuming it might have happened at some point. (Maybe early in the film, similarly to Optimus' "Evasion Mode"? I dunno.) If it did ever happen, that's the movie when it did at least

He was a black 67 Camaro SS at the beginning of AoE.

They sent me an email today asking if it met my expectations...

Yeesh... One more reason to avoid the set.
I already have WFC Optimus and I paid the big bucks for TR Kup already. And since I got rid of so many figures for my G1 fix, I now avoid doubles and repaints like the plague.

So yeah, I've made my decision and I'm happy with it - I'd recommend the Tribute set to anyone, particularly someone without the WFC Prime mold like me! I can totally see why others would prefer PotP Optimus/Orion though, and of course you should always do you. However if it sways any opinions, I've found that Tribute Orion makes an absolutely fantastic generic transtector for just about any head you could possibly want to use him with - he makes a particularly great generic Autobot with someone like the Swoop Titan Master attached.

Wfc Prime is great in bot mode but it's a pain to transform and reminds me why I prefer solid robot and alt modes compared to floppy messes.

That's quite obvious. That toy alone justify the price of the set, especially because the original WFC Optimus is worth that much alone on Ebay.
And getting a "free" Orion Pax out of the deal is even more awesome.

Honestly? It comes with a really nice version of one of the best deluxe Optimus Primes in the last decade, and he's a nice throwback to E-hobby Orion Pax. There's plenty to recommend him.
