Thanks to the Loopaza Facebook page, we have the continuation of the Trypticon comic we posted recently. This is the comic only available with the toy itself. You can see him turn into all kinds of different modes here, like a whale and a quadruped lizard. These comics are littered with fun moments and cool art, like a nice shot of Galvatron in his new jet mode.
The Facebook post also had an image of the stickers he comes with (the same as the Hasbro ones further confirming how alike these releases are) and his tech specs. Enjoy!

Ha! Nah. That's just his younger twin sister. Specifically the version from Animated. Which Tigatron felt the need to plaster stickers of all over Dinosaurer, apparently.

Although Metroplex does not have the connectivity to Leader size figures that Fort Max and Trypticon have...I was just wondering if perhaps :TAKARATOMY: might include these with their Metroplex rerelease next year?

As we have seen others do, it wont hinder my creativity of adding Metroplex to the overall Metropolis of a Transformers City, but I was just thinking, it would be cool if they added those connector tabs, would make the rerelease all the more desirable.

Can we talk about how many references to Godzilla they put in this comic?

Also, the new mode, that probably was meant to be an hint to the "baby" stage of Shin Gojira, looks pretty cool!

I found this pics on Facebook, and I really like the look of it.

Wow, that really DOES look like Shinny's first land stage!
All it needs are gallons of Energon spewing from his sides to complete the resemblance. :-P

... with the note that in this case it stand for 新 meaning "new". "Shin" can also stand for 真 "true", 神 "god" among other things (way too many) depending on context and how it's used.

I love these UW and Legends comics. Reminds of the pure fun that Transformers are, plus adding small bits of canon lore to Jap G1. Luckily I have had the cash to buy half dozen or do Legends figures. With Targetmaster Hot Rod and Kup on the way next month. Cant wait for Legends Octane, he looks sweet and no lame stickers.

Was it ever explained in the Legends manga why Shockwave's suddenly half the size he should be? Or are we just supposed to assume something happened to him in the years he was gone that made him that way?

Looks more like Full Tilt in vehicle mode with his gun on, to me.
Speaking of Full Tilt I think it would have been kinda funny if Takara had given him a new Headmaster based on Cybertron Megatron because that Megatron got his color scheme from Trypty.

Those are some neat new modes they devised for him, and it's cool to see the faux-eyes on his tail be used for something at long last.

So... I've been thinking about how Takara did Super Ginrai and Godbomber for the Legends line, and I don't think they did either as well as they could have.

I'm going to start with Super Ginrai versus Powermaster Optimus Prime. The first thing I'm going to talk about are the arms.
* PMOP's arms have some definite bad points: on the aesthetic side of things the inner faces of the arms are wide open, and on the function side of things the way the trailer roof panels are integrated blocks him from making full use of the CW Ultra Magnus guns and the forearms don't have 5mm ports. But on the positive side, there's a clever touch to the sculpt, a line along the raised hexagonal parts and then off to the side that suggests the shape of the gauntlets from the original Godbomber toy. Also, the opening hands are kind of neat.
* Super Ginrai's arms make some definite improvements; they don't have the visible hollows and and they have additional 5mm ports. However, while they have the trailer roof panels mounted such that they don't block clearance below the hands there's less purpose to it since he has standard 5mm-hole fists and doesn't come with the CW Magnus guns (nor can his new rifles be combined into a hammer). I think it would have been cooler to keep the opening hands and include both sets of guns (as well as a pair of Wing Saber-style handles for holding 5mm-peg weapons). Also a bit sad that the clever sculpt touch is not present here.
Now for the feet. PMOP's feet are obviously just CW Ultra Magnus' in a new color. They hold him up stably enough and have molded tail lights. but that's all there is to them. Super Ginrai's feet are designed to resemble the original PMOP/Super Ginrai feet but with more detail (although the design of the trailer ramps means that he basically has the original feet twice XD), enable combination with Godbomber, and add ankle rockers. The latter are what's of interest; based on the varying reports of their stability it sounds like they're just a friction joint and not a ratchet (which they probably should have been).

As for Godbomber...
* The forearms from the original toy had a nice gauntlet shape to them that looked nice both as part of Godbomber's robot mode and in the God Ginrai combination. The forearms on this are just boxes with fins, even though a gauntlet shape probably could have been achieved.
* The wings are integrated and hinged into Godbomber now instead of partsforming like on the original toy. The way this is done results in them being too high relative to Ginrai's shoulders when the two are combined. They should have either just had the wings (and the new-to-Legends separate upper arms) partsform, or added in a slide joint somewhere to get the wings down to the correct height.
* It's a bit disappointing that they didn't design the God Cannon's seat in such a way that there was still space to include a working missile launcher.

The Legends comic we recently posted, which is a prelude to the Legends Trypticon's pack in comic, is now available in Enlgish thanks to Shanchimaru and Jalaguy. This is of course a fan translation and not an official translation so some words may differ depending on interpretation but it still gives English speaking fans a great opportunity to better understand these comics. Let us know if this makes the comic any less crazy than it appeared to be. And thanks to Cybperpath for letting us know of this translation.

It's Japan they have culture differences, somethings that we think are wrong or not normal is kind of the other way around there so drawing stuff like this is basically normal for them and there is nothing we can do about it.

If someone wants to draw girls their going to and a bunch of people on the other side of the world ain't going to stop them.

Sort of like the live action films.

(Not defending him or accepting the drawings by any means but just trying to explain things via a switched perspective since I hate being bias or one sided)

I wish people would stop complaining.

I also wish that people would stop adapting every real life problem or trend into comic books and movies in general, I like the Transformers and Star Wars franchises so I can run away from IRL stuff not to get more of it.

That makes me a hypocrite and I wish I wasn't one.

Nightbeat's "80's bikini armor" is meant to resemble that which was worn by Chi Chi in her first appearances in Dragon Ball.

There's quite a lot of bikini-armoured girls in Japanese media from the 80s, most notably perhaps Genmu Senki Leda (also known as Yohko's Fantastic Adventure- Leda). This could be a reference to just about any of them.

Not just the Japanese but in other countries as well, remember Princess Leia? Media franchises like this will always at some point or another have something that some might call "sexualized"

In the end sometimes a girl in a bikini is just a girl in a bikini, not something to get worked up about just question it briefly then move on with your day.

(I personally think there is more of a problem with the unsettling amount of swear words/crude language and violence in this day and age then anything about this topic)

As do I.

This has turned out to be an incredibly fun and important chapter in what is the JG1 narrative. Its set up so much stuff for the future, and patched up major plot holes, all the while reintroducing great characters from the past and giving them more time to shine.

I'd be a shame if it never got officially translated or collected.

You know, the LGEX God Ginrai giftset is a lot like the EX-02 Sonic Convoy giftset. It's an exclusive set with two large toys that are redundant for a lot of people and (a) small toy(s) unavailable outside the set to drive even those who own both big toys already to buy it anyway.
