bacem wrote:Since nobody mention it here yet, thought i'd do it. Found authentics voyager size megatron on retail yesterday.
Seems decent in my eyes, so i pick him up.
This is the best Authentics figure so far, IMO. Besides obviously bigger version of the smaller one, it had a bit more improvement.
In tank mode, his head actually folded in.
In robot mode, he looks identical with the smaller one, except with more details. He has additional ankle tilt and waist rotation, so his articulation is the best among all Authentics figures.
Lastly, size comparison with Grimlock.

I'm hoping for a re-release of that Cyber Battalion Starscream in proper colors and 2 repaints.

Tank mode's a bit okay but presentable. Good articulation and very nice robot mode.
I love the first version so much I bought 4 to make a small Megatron Army.
The Beeftank was their leader first, but this will be their new leader.
Or I'll just start a voyager sized simple transformation great looking Megatron army.
Hasbro needs to do this more, just upsize some great scouts and legion/legend/cyberverse
figures.
There's a tiny cyberverse Optimus Prime out there with the perfect transformation.
Voyager size it up and give it knees Hasbro pls.

It will not be on my shelf nor am I'm spend my hard earned money on this figure... No, nah, never, nope....

FrankTheJohnson wrote:No, nah, never, and only on one case, which isn't the case,but.... This figure is only good for one thing and that's being a bigger figure for a lower price. Door a figure thats that size he is more than likely more detail, transformation whise, so I wouldn't mind the $30 Voyager class figure price. It being and less means it's gonna be of a less quality.. and totally that's this figure.

that is fair, because you are obviously not the target market of this figure. These are marketed for dollar store, for younger kids in particular, not for collector. It just so happens that there are collectors that attracted to these as well. Nobody's forcing you to buy them to begin with.

you are correct about the shoulder. The range of movement is limited due to parts clashing against parts.

They're for smaller "variety" stores so you'll want to check places like Walgreens, Big Lots, Family Dollar, and Dollar General. I've seen them at BL for sure.

Oh boy! A scavenger hunt. Thankfully I know of a couple near me that would be good places to check. I am gonna go hunting this weekend then for sure once the temperatures are no longer like the ice planet Hoth from Empire Strikes Back outside here. Thanks for letting me know!

I want an upsize of this Starscream because they might be able to adjust the size of the nosecone and maybe do more with the arms. I'd like the fists to fold in and peg into place but I'll settle for having the arms peg into place.

this is asking a bit too much from authentics line.

They usually tweak the upsized versions from the original mold. Bee and Prime got elbow joints, they weren't useful but they are there.

Dang, totally slipped my mind that I was going to do this. I was right next door as it sits right between the grocery store and Dollar Tree, both of which I went to Friday. Maybe next week.

one note that are not mentioned on the instruction (surprisingly), is that the feet can actually slide out, and moves out of the way further, which gives the shoulder more room to maneuver, and makes the transformation less fiddly.

This is what Chuck has to say on Bravo Class Grimlock:
Chuckdawg1999 wrote:To my surprise, Hasbro downscaled their Wave 1 Alpha Class Grimlock to a pocket-friendly size. Transformation is identical to the larger scaled figure but as to be expected, paint details are lost and the small dino arms are just molded in. Bravo Class Grimlock makes for the perfect desk toy and is fun to have.
We have mirrored the review for you below for your convenience, enjoy!

Also the figure looks okay, but it certainly doesn't make me say want to say "Bravo!", more like "Cool, ...I guess?"
Posted by Stryker P28 on February 7th, 2019 @ 3:37pm CST
The small ones are 6 while the large ones are 10-12 at family dollar

I don't own any of these toys so I can't speak on terms of their quality but they're just so hollow. I guess it makes sense since they're only a few bucks.

the plastic are surprisingly solid and sturdy, should be able to withstand children's rough play, and all the joints are tight and nice. But yeah, when you get a deluxe sized figure for $5 and voyager sized one for $10, i don't think we can really expect too much at that price points.

10-12$ is pretty cheap for a figure that big.

They're that much? Huh. I was always under the impression they were 7 to 8.

Wait they cost HOW MUCH?
Whoa, you don't get much for that either, apparently.

Considering they are cheaper and bigger then their more advanced brethren in the Siege and Studio Series line, I think those that are on that budget level will be thankful.

The characters presented are Optimus Prime, Megatron, and Bumblebee, all who were set to release in May 2019, though none have shown up yet. While there is no set price, you think these toys are worth it for kids? Tell us your general thoughts in the Pub forums below.

They were 19.99 CAD, meaning probably closer to 15 USD if ever they are found in the US. it is unknown if they are exclusive to Walmart in Canada, but that is the first place these were found. You can see images of the toys along with their transformation schemes below.

Seen at Walmart: A mom is handling the G1 Optimus. "This look neat! My kid will love it. How much is it? 70$!!! WTF?" The mom then put it back in disgust.

The funniest thing is "leader" is accepted in the French language and changing it to "chef" was unnecessary.

Up first is the smallest class, the Bravo class, which up until now had featured Grimlock, Starscream, Megatron, Optimus Prime, and Bumblebee. The newest figure to join this class is Ratchet, who is also in his evergreen design and hues very close to his recent Cyberverse Spark Armor toy. He will be available along with the rest of the previously released figures.
Next is the Alpha class, which featured Grimlock, Optimus, Bumblebee, and Megatron. The newest addition to this class is Soundwave, who also hues close to a recent Cyberverse toy, in this case the Warrior class figure. He will also be available with his fellow previously released figures.
And finally, we have the Titan changer, the larger figures that transform in a couple of steps. Previous members of the class included Megatron, Bumblebee, and Optimus, and they are now joined by Grimlock and Starscream.
All of the new figures are most likely on their way to stores now, so keep an eye out for these latest Authentics figures, and let us know if you spot them!

Quantum Surge wrote:I know these Authentics figures should have lowered expectations, and some of them look decent, but Titan Grimlock looks embarrasing while Soundwave has a puny visor. Still, these would be neat for a stop motion where a universe of goofy G1 characters exists.
"Puny visor" seems like a pretty minor nitpick for what is otherwise a decent-looking Soundwave. As for Grimlock, Titan Changers are a Leader-sized figure for around half the price of a deluxe, so yeah, your expectations might be too high.
