We receive news of some newly licensed material coming out of Hasbro's dealings with Pop Culture Shock Collectibles, Inc., who have recently confirmed they will be producing items and figures for a number of franchises owned by the toy maker, including Transformers, Magic: The Gathering, My Little Pony, GI Joe and other members of the Hascon franchises.

PCS are makers of highly detailed and nicely sculpted statues, and have dedicated themselves to high-end collectibles and more affordable figures alike, from franchises like Capcom, Power Rangers, Robocop, and more. PCS Collectibles is pleased to announce we have now secured a licensing agreement with Hasbro Inc. We reported a while back on company Pop Culture Shock acquiring the Transformers license from Hasbro, to produce small and large scale collectible figures of its various brands - including Transformers, of course! According to representatives from Pop Culture Shock directly, interacting with fans on StatueForum.com, we have some extra news about the look of these new lines: G1 cartoon accurate, both large and small, after talking to/sourcing opinions from Transformers fansites (apparently). From word of Seibertronian Cyberpath we have learned from Emiliano Santalucia, an artist for Pop Culture Shock Collectibles that we have gotten our first look at Transformers G1 Optimus Prime statue on the artist's page.

It's been a little while since we last heard anything about the new Pop Culture Shock! Transformers licensed figures (along with the other Hasbro properties that are receiving the figure treatment, of course), but thanks to one of the artists behind the project - veteran Emiliano Santalucia on his Facebook page - we now have a look at the torso of the Optimus Prime toy that will eventually make it to retail!

Isn't this coming out great?

Nearly four months after it was first previewed and a couple weeks after we got a look at the torso, we have our first full look at the licensed Optimus Prime statue from Pop Culture Shock! This image comes to us via their Instagram page.

The statue is heavily Generation One-based in design, and sports a cel-shaded deco reminiscent of the cartoon (or the similarly-G1-inspired Transformers: Devastation game). Check below for images, and remember to share your thoughts in the Energon Pub Forums! Does this statue look good to you? Is the Sunbow-cartoon style more appealing than the updated aesthetic of other statue releases? We want to know what you think!

As much as G1 Prime or the G1 cartoon don't appeal to me these days I do like the cell shaded style very much (and loved Transformers: Devastation) and so that makes this a nice statue in my opinion.

I think that looks best as a 2D image. I prefer real shadows and lighting on my toys if that makes sense.

As if Optimus jumped out of the screen! Is it posable though? Meaning more action figure than statue? If yes, that's very interesting. If not, it's a big "meh".

Statues are rarely posable. I don't think any statue I have is.

Some ultra expensive, ultra premium figures are called "posable statues". But I don't remember the brand. They make Bayverse and IDWverse ones.

Shortly after we got our first full look at the statue, we now have an online listing for Pop Culture licensed Shock's Optimus Prime statue!

The statue (set for release some time between now and August) will measure approximately 10.5" tall, and features a swappable right arm to give Prime either his Ion Blaster or Energon Axe. It can be pre-ordered from Pop Culture Shock's website for $160 (including an initial deposit) or for $128 if paid all at once. Wasn't all that interested before when I assumed it would be a $500 statue, but now knowing it's only $128 and has optional parts I'm quite a bit more interested. :-?

Courtesy of the Instagram account for Pop! Culture Shock collectibles, we have the first image of their next officially licensed Transformers statue - after the cell shaded Optimus Prime we have seen, and the Megatron sketch at San Diego Comic Con 2018, both initially designed by Emiliano Santalucia - and it's continuing on the Decepticon line-up with the Seeker leader and faction second-in-command: Starscream!

The prototype is still in its early stages, so plenty of details are still missing, but you can still check it out below and let us know what you think of this new line - does it interest you? Starscream is printed. Don’t pay attention to the top of the base or jets fire as those will be hand sculpted

The Optimus, Megatron, and Soundwave look like cheap "shampoo bottles."
However that Shockwave statue look SAH-WEET! Yeah yeah, price difference and such. But if one have the money and the space for a statue, might as well go for a genuine piece of art.

The fact that Optimus, Megs, and Soundwave are represented by fairly flat renders while the Shockwave statue is represented by what appears to be final product photos probably doesn't do the former any favors.

There's also the fact that the first 3 are 50$ while shockwave is 220$. Apple and oranges, sure, but it's like showing a MPM just after showing one-steps.
