...Because it's a fun little model kit that is like 1/4 of the price of the original, potentially WST-scaled, and also comes with gum?

It's the fun of assembling the figures that counts as well. Plus, they're cheap I have the original G1 Piranacon (with a broken Overbite), and I still want it. Awaiting a redeco into God Neptune
How would the members be distributed though? The main Gum series usually come in wave of 3, which isn't enough to contain all the Seacons, even with the smaller members paired off. Either there are two more figures along with Turtler/Snaptrap in that wave with the Seacons forming their own smaller series of 5, or one member is split across 3 kits.

Given the simplicity of the design and its model kit nature it should be very easy to repaint them as the Seacon Pirates. Just sort the parts by colour and respray them. You could theoretically paint them on the sprues but then you'll be left with nasty marks.

His fellow Scramble City torsos Silverbolt, Hot Spot, Motormaster, Onslaught were all regular kits, not DX ones.
Speaking of other kits, now I want kits of Abominus and Computicon and Scramble away!

I understand they are covering a bunch of bases with the last few releases however the return to G1 is welcome.
Hopefully some more hard to find combiners will be reimagined in Kabaya following this set.

Yeah but this is Piranahcon! I was thinking about it too, they might do this like Road Cesar; 3 of the torso and the 6 limbs spread out 2 to a pack. Thus you get a case of 6.

How well did the other team sell? I heard Go was a complete bust for Takara.

Whether Go! did good or poorly for Takara, Kabaya developed the samurai team anyway. I'd imagine that the Seacons where in development before Kabaya released the samurai team so sales couldn't be used to justify not putting out the shinobi team. Then again maybe they just wanted to break apart the Go! releases with something else.

Piranacon has 6 members, not limbs: torso, two arms, two legs and a gun. From the looks of it Turtler/Snaptrap is a single kit with no extra parts, which leaves 5 members to distribute.

Limb, member, same difference. Perhaps the parts for the 6th member will be spread out over the other member kits? Like they did for Rodimus' trailer?

Maybe, or they could make a mini-series of 5 along the likes of the Gaia Guardian and Gaiacross series.
At any rate, out of curiosity I measured my Kabaya Dai Atlas, a standard kit, with my Gen. Bombshell. As I guessed they're roughly the same height. So we can expect Turtler/Snaptrap to be roughly Legends-sized.

At any rate, good to see we have a date for these guys. And from the looks of it, the combiner kibble is spread across the 6, according to the standard configuration:
Turtler/Snaptrap: Chest Shield
Overbite: Sword, Gun.
Kraken/Seawing: Left Hand
Lobclaw/Nautilator: Right Hand
Tentakil: Left Foot
Galph/Skalor: Right Foot

Pretty much standard fare with Kabaya, if only for esthetic reason That's the only improvement they make though.

Kabaya continues to knock their mini-combiners out of the park! I wonder if they'd be willing to redeco these into God Neptune at some point in the future.

Ebonsaber wrote:I dunno, I was bummed pretty bad by the rubbery plastics of the Gaia Guardian(Defensor) limbs, so I might pass on this set just like the other combiners(except Road Caesar, which I got as part of a set with Overload. though I haven't opened mine yet to compare plastic quality)
I have Road Caesar, Overlord and the Powered Masters, and the plastic quality is adequate. Remember, they're meant to be inexpensive Candy Toys, so of course they'll feel a bit cheap compared to regular toys.

I do like the quality of the plastic for the most part(I've been collecting them since wave 1, only missed out on Prowl and Starscream, up to the wave with Hotspot, then continued with Fort Max, Overload and Star Convoy wave), but the smaller limbs were so soft, they could barely carry the weight of the combined form(Streetwise' combiner connector actually bent from the weight). I've also heard that Gaiacross has the same issue, but I haven't heard if the other limbs for Motormaster, Onslaught and Silverbolt shared the same problem.

If you watched Masterforce, you'll see how goofy those monsters were. It all boils down to "PR"...or their lack of it

Might be the first Kabaya TFs I get. They look really awesome. And the colors! Such nice, 80's neon colors they are!

So are those the actual G1 Seacons or just a build your own kit?
