Talking of the line; I'm pretty sure that's everything from Titans Return done now, isn't it? Barring any re-uses like G2 Megatron they want to do.

Seems like it. Though they never released Wilder (Fangry) as a Headmaster (his animal partner is getting packed with G2 Megatron). Which is odd because he appeared in the comics.
Ptero and his animal partner were never released, and I'm guessing the Lione that comes with Seaspray is the head. If that's the case the lion partner hasn't seen a release yet either.
Then there are retools of existing Headmasters (not talking about any vehicles or animals) that weren't released and likely won't be (Krok, Getaway, Shuffler Headmaster, Black Shadow, etc).

I feel like it's possible that the autobot targetmasters might be part of the "Power of the Primes" line. So it's possible that Takara's preemptively releasing the target masters to be paired with later figures.

I doubt it, with everything being a Combiner.
I wouldn't be surprised to see Takara whip up the Autobot Targetmasters - Hot Rod and Kup provide good bases for two of them and one original mold wouldn't be too out of the question imo - but I think it's equally if not more reasonable that they're just releasing their Targetmaster partners because they're doing Targetmasters anyway.

Maybe as a special release, but for the main line? Nope. Head swaps have it hard in the Japanese market you know...

Possibly as retools, but not as new figures. Also, the first 4 waves of PotP has been leaked, but the Autobot TM's are not part of them. They'd have to combine anyway, so...

Eh who knows, It's possible takara has a more extensive catalog compared to the Hasbro one that was leaked. Whether it's a standard LG release or a UW realease, it's possible takara's already planning ahead for figures that aren't finished yet.

Well, considering that Crosshairs, Pointblank, and Sureshot's appearance in the comic basically had them go "Yeah, we're not going with the rest of you guys to the Legends World, we're staying behind on purpose"...Sodan-1 wrote:With Takara seemingly shoe-horning the Targetmaster partners into whichever release they can, and their appearance in this latest comic, what are the chances of us actually getting Crosshairs, Pointblank and Sureshot as figures, even if they are Takara exclusives?

Well they did say that they're staying to look for their targetmaster partners, but those all obviously are going to end up in the legends world so there's that.

At the same time, they also still took on Headmaster forms and they could eventually get bodies for a future situation. This just explains why their Targetmaster partners are purchasable without them.
Also I really want different umbrella terms to separate Crosshairs, Pointblank and Sureshot from Peacemaker, Spoilsport and Pinpointer. Having to specify which 'Targetmasters' I'm talking about is getting really frustrating.

And we can't abbreviate either of them down to TM either, 'cause that adds a third layer of confusion with Titan Masters, who'd also probably be involved! I don't know if there's any really good way of solving that (outside of another officially-sanctioned designation, like the split between Headmasters - the main guys - and Titan Masters - the partners). If you'd like a suggestion for a substitute term though, you could always call Peacemaker/Spoilsport/Pinpointer "the shooty-men".
Personally I don't think it's likely that we'll see TT-only renditions of the C/P/S-type Targetmasters; if they were planning to release them soon, why then release their partners with other random figures? The Targetmaster partners are a non-line-specific extra on top of TR's gimmick anyway, so even if C/P/S weren't going to be part of the TR-section of Legends, that shouldn't stop them from being packed with their gun-people. To me, that (pin)points to C/P/S not being in the plans for Takara at the moment - they've done some crazy retool/new-mold stuff before in the last two years, but it doesn't seem too likely this time around IMO.

Once again Takara steps up and goes above and beyond Hasbro giving us the best Kup to date outside of a theoretical Masterpiece. The inclusion of Recoil a new mold update to the G1 Targetmaster is the cherry on the sundae. Highest possible recommendation.

Funnily enough I vaguely remember something about the crossover comeback a while back, but heard nothing since, just hope they update the vehicles to coincide with the current movies ect

Specifically, we're looking at March 2018 releases of LG64 Seaspray and Lione (Sawback), LG65 Target master Twin Twist, LG66 Target Master Top Spin! Still no image available, but we do have price points in Yen of 2000 and 4000 respectively, meaning 17 USD and 35 USD at the time of writing. (Also included in the image appear to be reissues of MPM-3 Bumblebee and TLK-25 Nitro Zeus.)

Lol. They just want to be friends with everyone.
Obviously the Prime Masters are a repurposing of the Titan Masters. The PoTP deluxes will be able to combine with voyagers like traditional Combiner Wars, but also repurposed to combine with each other (Dreadwind and Blackwing). With that in mind I wouldn't say some traditional Titan Masters are out-of-the-question for a late wave PoTP, like the Autobot "shooty-men".

Um, the only 2 deluxe figures that have been shown to combine together are Dreadwind and Blackwing, so I wouldn't go expecting that for every one. It makes much more sense that the feature is unique to them as they were in G1.
I'm also pretty sure Hasbro as commented on no new head/titan masters in PoTP. So I would say the Autobot shooty men are out of the question for PoTP, at least as head/titan masters. Remember, none of the PoTP figures have the removable head and only the legends scale have cockpits that I am aware of. It would be highly unusual for them to change mid-line.

Carnivius_Prime wrote:Takara's Kup version is so much better it's not even funny.
I sort of agree, but don't mind the Hasbro version though. However, with both of them, the "flat-back" syndrome struck again which really bothers me. There's so much going on with the legs that I wish they had figured out a better way to distribute the figure's parts so that he had a traditional backpack or something to beef up his upper back. I feel the same way about Sharkticon Gnaw, who could have been easily remedied if the top half of the "shark" head was attached to his back instead of his legs. They both remind me of "flat back" variant of MOTU Two-Bad, which is the less desired version of the two.

We have images below showing the problem on both versions along with what a fixed version looks like. The fixing looks very tedious though.

One of the photos clearly shows the use of some kind of SAW. That's where I draw the line If I have to saw up a figure to fix it, then I'll just keep it the way it is, thanks

Nope, as the panels in question also accommodates the rivets the wheels are connected with. That explains the saw used. Also, Tribute Orion Pax has the same problem.

As for Hotrod's comic, it's typical "Sikomofo" up to his usual, purile tricks again. He's not exactly the best thing to happen to Japan, or transformers, is he...

It's purely looks, but the space between the two compartments in question does not line up with the notch above them, creating a jagged effect.

Yeah, it took me about 5 minutes just to see what the issue was. I'm normally pretty OCD about my figures being as perfect as possible, but this is such a small detail, it doesn't even show up on my OCDometer.

Not even close. My Tribute Orion Pax doesn't like to cooperate with the leg-panels lining up in vehicle mode so this was originally a ray of hope for me - maybe it's a misassembly that can be fixed, however bad? thought my naive self. Nope, just an aesthetic misassembly that doesn't affect the figure; I guess I'm still just doing it wrong. Still good to know about though, I suppose

I had to replace my Blitzwing because he came with two left feet, My Octone has the problem with the cab section not closing properly because one side is crooked. Then there was Trypicon.
I've had other figures I've had to return or replace parts for because they came mis-assembled. I don't remember having the problem as much as I see it now, but maybe it's just me.

I wonder if anyone would have pegged an assembly issue with Kup if there hadnt been so many more obvious QC issues? And if so, I wonder how many asthetic QC issues have gotten past us as a fandom, particularly before the internet allowed us to keep such a vocal record

Can confirm looking at mine. I think Jelze also noted the same problem with hers a few posts back? So on top of the stock images featuring the misassembly, I think it's safe to say that every iteration of this mold so far has had the "problem".
