This image is mainly an advertisement for "The Hub" and this version of Bumblebee does look similar to his movie counterpart.

First we hear the show *may* be connected to WFC game, but this looks more like a movie connection.
I'm hoping that this is just an early look and that the final product will look unique enough to not be a mere movie knockoff like this one is.

Camaro>Beetle...
Oh, well. Looking forward to a new series anyway. Gonna hold off my criticisms until then.

...but not even close.

I happen to like this new style but that opinion is unfortunately going to be buried in the whiny, derisive prattlings of the selfish, the ignorant and the otherwise completely intolerant which makes up the vast majority of this fandom.

I just can't wait to see what Optimus looks like in this series.
T-Macksimus, you are definitely right on that one. If there is one thing that far too many Transformers fans are resistant to, it's new ideas or anything different from Generation One. There are good things about G1, and there are things about it that need to stay dead. For example, an incompetent Megatron who tolerates Starscream's crap.

Yes, the robot in this teaser DOES look like Movie-verse Bumblebee, but with a better face. So, if we got a toy that was another version of Movie-verse Bumblebee with this face, I actually would buy him. Hate the idea of buying yet another Movie-verse BB, but a decent face makes all the difference in the world to me.

Eh, I suppose it has potential. If I don't like it, it's a welcome break I can use to catch up on old lines. Chances are it'll win me over in the end. I was one of the ones outraged over both Bayverse AND Animated in the beginning, and now I have shelves full of them.

I'm more disappointed in seeing that its going back to CGI, I liked what cel animation did for Animated. I just hope the get proper CGI like Beast Wars and not that stiff looking stuff they had for Cybertron if they are.

This looks like a mix between movie and Animated, with a bit of Waspinator mixed in. I can already see that the CGI will be stylised similar to Pixar just from seeing the face and the arm. A shame that he doesn't seem to share anything from his cybertronian form we have seen in WFC.
I'll reserve judgement till I see a full body shot, after all remember the first image we saw of animated on an advertisement just like this?
I'm guessing this is early material, close to what it will be but not the final version.

to me it looks like, animated+bayverse= "new" design
Posted by DevastaTTor on March 8th, 2010 @ 12:05pm CST
Whether my speculation is true or not, it's clear the Bayverse designs and story arc are here to stay.

*Sigh*
This is probably going to turn out so corny I can't even watch it....

Amen. No truer words have been written on here. Every transformers series has it's goods and bads, but it seems many fans have alot of trouble seeing that. Instead of intelligently critiquing something, a series, a figure, a movie, talking about what they did right, or what they did wrong, it just gets a blanket of hateful and senseless remarks. Transformers has a much larger fanbase than many other comic/cartoon/sci-fi franchises and it's a shame people have to be that way. Hats off to the folks who run sites like Seibertron and TFwiki, who give credit to the transformers franchise as a whole.

Megatron Wolf wrote:Isnt WFC the prequel to the new show? Last i check BB looks more like Classics BB than Movie BB. I really hope the new show isnt going to use the movie look, im getting really sick of it. New show is suppose to mean new look with only a few things kept the same to keep the continuity of the characters. And if WFC is a prequel i can only imagine how they are going to justify such a radical change from how they look on cybertron to how they look on earth earth.
According to WFCs makers, WFC will use designs to be able to be an arch-story, a "universal" what-happened-before-Earth story.

Besides, Bumblebee isn't the only character in that image. Does anyone have any thoughts on the other things we see here, hmm?

I don't mind the design of the Bumblebee pictured here. I agree that Camaro > VW Beetle. One of the only problems I had with BayFormers was the unexplained choices of colors for Ironhide, Ratchet, and Sideswipe. I mean, I've heard the red color excuse, but they made Rampage red, why not Ironhide and Sideswipe? And I loved characters like Blackout and Barricade that the movie-verse brought out.
I'm very interested to see how this Transformers: Prime turns out. As long as the storyline is comparable to Transformers: Animated, then I'll be ok with design choices that might not be my first choice.
This wouldn't be the first cartoon inspired by the movie-verse. Afterall, TF:Animated used the allspark (although it looked different), cybertronian Megatron looked kinda inspired by movieverse Megs, and it had Blackout (although only one episode). And they reverse engineered Megatron to get modern technology, which is mentioned in TF1 movie.

I'll reserve judgment until I see the whole thing, but IMO this looks a little too detailed and advanced for a kid's show (though I doubt that's the exact version that'll be in the show).

A Movie-Based Cartoon about a NEST Team also I bet money General Fowler is a NEST Team commander and I bet this will take place either during Revenge or sometime after the ending of Revenge.
On why it is called Prime that is cause of the Dynasty or the Primes as we seen in Revenge we will get more on that mythology and what it is about and why it is so important.
Now more than ever Im convinced this is a movie-verse toon espically the way BB looks like a sleeker version of his movie self.
I told everyone on my Theory on prime that this is a Movie Based version cartoon also look at who is over this also I knew then it would be also.
Prime will be a movie-base cartoon it will be in CGI similar to Cybertron I bet also done in 3-D CGI.
I was right about Transformers Animated lets see if i can make it 2 or 2 and get it right on Prime.
My Guess on Airdate October/November this year currently on Kids Discovery which is 179 on Dish Network.
Look I dont really care about it being a movie-verse cartoon look we all knew it was going to be with the guys behind it lets just hope they can make it make sense give us a good story and decent characters and make it fit in with the movie-verse.
Also there is a plus to this sense this is going to be movie verse that means no dorkey kids will be in it.

So this might actually be good.
i so hope youre right.

I'm more concerned about how cartoony it looks. Looks too "Animated", too animated. I don't mind 2d animation certainly, but I was hoping they'd be drawn in a more realistic style like Armada, rather then like caricatures with exageratted chins/arms like animated...

I could've sworn it was one of the news tidbits released at both Botcon, and SDCC.
Either way, I like the design. He looks really, really cool there.
It kinda makes sense, in a way, to continue using the movie designs...
2011 ain't that far away, and we have the Hunt For The Decepticons line coming, sooo....

...I'm way more upset about that awful "Disney-XD" looking MLP up there. Yuck.
Posted by pr0wl on March 8th, 2010 @ 6:19pm CST
The cartoon dog looks okay, I like cartoons that look oldschool.
Transformers prime will probably be the only show I watch on the hub. Or maybe they'll make an indiana jones show or a marvel show since hasbro makes the toys for them. Hopefully these transformers will have robot enemies(ooh professor princess, how scary. I'm a little disappointed that that really was the end for animated. They couldve at least brought prowl back at the end. This show looks cool and people should give it a chance. I bet the toys will be awesome. You gotta admit a curvy bot mode means a sleek alt mode. The entire transformers animated line is my witness.

Great point. I ended up loving the characters and story lines in Animated. And in the end, the animation grew on me.
