Voyager
Fix'd if you were talking about the original DOTM Shockwave.
As for this current leader, he's the same size as SS DOTM leader Megatron and the Voyager Megatrons. However he's more "chunky" than the voyagers obviously.

Even then, they are way smaller than those accessories!

You gonna get the Arcee pack? Basically 3 legion class figures

I forgot to post this showing the head-swap with SS-01 and SS-49:
I think I like the battle mask better because the face on SS-01 still feels kinda off.
This looks pretty neat! I may try the head swap as well
Slowly but surely, the new Studio Wave is coming to my hands. Now just waiting on the Leaders. also, with Stinger from our own Ironhidensh, I now have a version of all the SS molds in some form
I also want to take a minute to say that this wave has been very varied in terms of figures and movies they came from, and they each have some very good higlights:
Bumblebee - This is a spot on pocket MP update to the 2007 Bumblebee and is a great all around toy serving as a fantastic update with some new stuff to make it interesting.
Hot Rod - Makes WWII Bee better and they form a great pair. One of those figures that is good alone but as a team is really good. He is the team player
Arcees - This is a nice little 3-pack of Legion figures, and they are surprisingly intricate and painted for the price point. I like the little set, it's a bonus pack sort of thing, and one that is nice, especially since I finally have a toy of all 3 of them (I didn't have any previously)
Soundwave - This is the toy that is both fantastically painted and also just chonky. He chonkin'. This toy has presence, and I love it for that. This is the muscular Soundwave I was hoping for, he feels great in hand.
Mixmaster - This guy is the freak so far, and he owns the slenderman long-armed monster humanoid with some good paint work. I really enjoy this freakshow
Megatron - This, like Bee, is both a fantastic update but also a nostalgia train, not to mention well painted and filled out and muscular. This toy is basically all of the above toys comments combined into one.
Now to wait on the Leaders! I am super stoked for Scavenger. i am ready for him!

I am just excited for Devastator to be nearing his completion
Posted by D-Maximal_Primal on January 11th, 2020 @ 7:51pm CST
I didn't get this figure initially, I heard it was fiddly, and I wasn't really interested. But then he was the only mold I didn't have in SS in any form, and i wanted him to get the AOE cast together with a good figure. And he is really fun, I love his robot mode, the transformation is pretty explosive and fun, and the alt mode is slick.
Ya know, I am shocked that we have gone 2 years now and they never reshelled this to make AOE Bumblebee. But then again, they have been good with gaps between retools. Took a full year to get WWII Hot Rod from Bumblebee
Thank you again Densh!

But SS and MPM are on point. So far, SS knock it out of the park because almost all the bots so far look like budget masterpieces. That's quite the feat!

Why the J/K at the end? Misplacing at least is a damned valid concern.
Seriously, I will never get the obsession with scale some folks have. And I don't want to get it, either.

Leader 2007 Megatron (preferably the Premium Series redeco) would have been a better match with Bumblebee, height-wise.-Kanrabat- wrote:This show that in the old movie lines, scale was not important at all.

Laserbeak pegs into the tire as if it was designed to do so. I'm not sure if it's been talked about, but his head is on a ball joint peg on a swivel. It's tight as hell, but he can do the chicken head thing and the extra movement helps with transformation and posing.
Here he is with Movie the Best Soundwave (which I still like more). SS-51 does pull a few of the tricks off better.
He's just barely taller than VDub Bee.
He's a really cool figure with a gorgeous deco but I feel the size may turn some off.

Shockwave, on the other hand, is a must buy. I've been waiting for a leader class Shockwave since 2011. And I think Brains and Wheelie are just fine, scale wise. It would be neat if we got a more detailed figure of each, preferably at least a deluxe. My only complaint on Shockwave is that his legs and feet seem to be a bit big, with his upper body kinda small. It's like he has leader legs with a voyager body.
As for Sentinel's rust gun, the leader didn't come with one, so I just gave him Lunar Fire deluxe Prime's big red cannon. Fits well.

It would have been a better match for sure. However he's still be way too big. Anyone have still his old 2007 leader Megs to post comparison pictures?

I already have WWII Bee, so Hot Rod was as expected, except my copy appears to have some QC issues with the legs in bot mode and the roof panel in car mode. My legs just don'e seem to hold together as well on Hot Rod as they do Bee. It isn't horrible, but doe make posing him somewhat more difficult. The bigger issue is the roof panel in car mode. Mine is slightly warped just won't fit flush. But overall I like Hot Rod, especially paired up with Bee.
Now onto the real gem, Mixmaster. Man what a fantastic mold. I love how they used a traditional bipedal robot mode, but really stretched the proportions to make him a beautiful, gangly mess. In his case, I find that the large truck cab backpack actually helps act as a counterweight when you have the arms extended forward.
The real gem with Mixmaster is his truck mode. What an incredible job they did with the only real flaw being the visible hands at the back end. Everything else stays nice and tucked away and everything tabs in really well to form a really solid truck mode. This might be the nicest alt mode overall for my movie collection (very limited TLK and SS) as far as everything tabbing in together securely.
Now I just have to carve out some time this week to open up Scavenger. Can't wait.

Scavenger has a nice big alt mode, and it is pretty cool to have this big excavator looming over the others. This figure is really good!
I actually like the shockwave tank more in person. This thing is pretty cool actually, and i love how the robot back becomes the tank back, that is pretty sweet. I love the paint work too. This figure is also pretty dang good

We'll see if my opinion improves once I get a chance to transform him a bit, but as of right now, he is by far the worst Constructicon to me. For now, being a component of Devastator is the only real plus for this mold. I really hope that changes once I transform him and get a bit more used to posing him.

The best part is, that mode is actually canonical, as Demolisher would slam his top wheel onto the ground to create massive damage.

Nothing but physics once you find his center it's easy to get him to balance

First up, Scavenger. I don't know what it is, but I love the non-traditional Constructicons, and it's now a race between Scavenger and Rampage for my favorite mold. I frikkin love both! Have a group shot, with only 2 to go!
And then there is Shockwave. This guy is just utterly intimidating and terrifying, and he works so well with dark filters. I frikkin love the paint work and sculpting, they captured that movie look spot on.
Have a Dark of the Moon group shot, minus hatchet and Sentinel Prime, as well as another image of the devil opening the gates of hell

The chest thing drives me nuts. Maybe they'll remold it for some sort of exclusive, with an icy deco and/or the fusion cannon? Kinda like Battle Damaged ROTF Megatron.
Posted by TF-fan kev777 on January 15th, 2020 @ 11:56am CST
The transformation was both a little scary, but ultimately very satisfying. A little scary at times because some of those tabs just didn't want to let go, and being my first time transforming him I wasn't always sure which pieces were supposed to move or let go. But after the first transformation everything went smooth the second time. I really like how everything tabs in nice and snug on mine, very satisfying.
Can't wait for the last 2 constructicons to be available so I can get the big boy put together.

I'm not usually a fan of KO and bootlegs. But the fact that the chest plate is pinned to hell and back make replacing just that part impossible. I'd like a 1:1 KO of SS Voyager Megatron with the correct chest if HasTak don't make it.
However, the best of both worlds would be to have a just the KO torso with the correct chest. Meaning the chest and all the pinned parts on it only. Then, take apart your official Megatron and assemble the ultimate SS '07 Megs.

I know how you feel, I just have to keep reminding myself that I'd rather get overload way at the end and get a good devastator, than first and have a combiner with weak thighs; but it isn't easy
