A fun image has popped up online featuring a sign at Toysrus in Japan. On it, we get our first look at the Takara version of Last Knight Voyager Megatron. As with the rest of the line, this seems to be the same toy as his Hasbro counterpart. However, we do learn that, like the TLK Voyager Optimus, Voyager Megatron will be a Toysrus exclusive there. Feel free to compare the Takara version to the Hasbro version to see if there are any differences.

From what we can see on this poster it appears to be coming out on July 15th, 2017. The figure will cost 4,499 yen which is roughly $40.59 USD with current exchange rates.

Also, the sign shows yet another image of the one movie toy that is exclusive to Takara so far in the line: Calibur Optimus Prime. It seems to come out on the same date and the Toysrus release comes with an extra Energon sword, which we can see in the image. Enjoy! Thanks to Type-R from TFW2005 for sharing this image.

So in other words, the Voyager versions of Optimus Prime and Megatron are exclusives, and not main retail, in Japan. Good to know.

Thanks to the Planet Iacon Facebook page, we have some new images of the upcoming Leader class Calibur Optimus Prime and Megatron set to come out as part of The Last Knight's toyline! These new images show off Prime and how is backpack now comes off and transforms into a shield, much like Striker Optimus Prime did with his Stealth Force gear. Also shown off is how Prime comes with his standard battle shield/blaster, this time done up in bright gold. The figure is also set to come with an ax. Megatron also shows up, and looks very similar to his Hasbro counterpart. Check out the images and let us know what you think!

He looks a bit more... Gundam-y.

Much spikier yet defined in a way that looks much more Anime-esque than the extremely realistic approach of the movies.

The gold-colored shield, named "Gold Vector Shield", is a campaign item, rather than a standard accessory to the Optimus figure.

Pre-order for Prime was up at AmiAmi: http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail ... 3&page=top

But in less than an hour the pre-orders closed. They could open back up so keep an eye on that. It is listed as "limited", I'm not sure if that means they only got a small quantity or if that means it includes the shield (AmiAmi does sometimes get campaign items).

Great looking figure, but I can't squeeze in any more July pre-orders.

So what is the means of offering for the gold shield. ?

I don't own the 1st edition Prime - but I do wonder if they'd have been better served to include the other deco of the shield as a promo item with it's expended shield mode.

Or even make a brand new mould of it in it's folded up arm cover mode (where it's just a panel that sits on his arm with a circle on it and the gun barrels retracted and the force shield element not deployed.

It is a bit of an oversight to not offer the 3rd form of the shield.

Though doesn't it also have a "Ground mode" where he can take it off and shove it in the ground too ?

Courtesy of yours truly, we have some Japanese sightings for Takara Tomy's edition of the Transformers: The Last Knight, found in Gobo's Joshin store (with the movie only hitting in August)! The wave is the first, with Deluxes (20 USD) and Voyagers (32 USD), and One-Steps (8 USD) on display, to the backdrop of an animated commercial for the latter figures. Also, the toys are indeed the same, with the TLK sticker over the Hasbro packaging logos.

Remember: if you come across a sighting for these or any other toys, make sure to mark them up in our Sightings database to help out other fans!

Courtesy of the official Toys'R'Us Japan channel on YouTube, we have a new commercial for the exclusive toyline that will be hitting the retailer alongside Transformers: The Last Knight (King, as it's known in the localised release) - some of whom are specific exclusives for the store, such as the two Voyager and Leader Megatrons. The clip uses stop motion animation and voice-over narration, and features the likes of Bumblebee, Sqweeks, Hound, Optimus Prime, Drift and more - leading into the TLK line, the One-Steps, and the Movie Masterpiece figures. As the US has Valvoline and Valvotron, Takara Tomy Transformers in Japan has also partnered up with a garage chain - Idemitsu - in order to bring a lottery for its users (Japan only)! From toy blogger Alfes2010 and Taiwan-based fan Yu Ting An, we have some new in-hand images of Takara Tomy Transformers' The Last Knight (TLK-15) Calibur Optimus Prime - their pumped up leader class figure for the Autobot commander! That mod for the backpack shield is rather impressive. I do wish the flames where that darker red though... Looks like an amazing figure, and the best-of-the-best in every way. I really don't know how Hasbro hasn't gotten this one or the previous version out of Japan.

It's nice (particularly the paintjob) but I still hate those shoulder pads and how you can't put flames on them cos they form the top of the truck.

That's a good point. Flames on those shoulders would look badass... Maybe if they could rotate around? But then you'd expose the ball-socket.

I'm actually quite impressed it can still clip on the back in "standard" configuration. I like that the shield passes the accessory test at first glance.... really have to catch it at an angle/side to notice the kibble.

That can't be helped, really. It's a TakaraTomy-original idea like the Armor Knight retool, with no involvement from Hasbro whatsoever, so they have to wait until TakaraTomy is done with it before even attempting to release it.

Whatever the logistics reason, it's still stupid. Hasbro would rather rush out something already made in hopes of a quick buck than work out a deal with Takara in the huge amount of time they had between films.
