S: AHHHHHHHHHH!!!
C: Right then! You will give me back my best friend! Hand to hand! throw down your blasters!

C: FOR JACK!
S: if that was all you had, you never stood a chance. Some Leader you a--

And man, does that mean the yellow lion is as big as Sixshot? I never put them next to eachother and always figured the lions were more voyager sized. But yellow look huge here!

The story is from The Headmasters, so it kinda counts. However, I'm expecting the Legends take to merely have Sixshot masquerading as Jack like the stealthy ninja he is

Only 2?
1. Who was driving Chromedome's Transtector when it rammed into Sixshot while little Chromedome himself was on the ground?
2. Depending on how long after Jack's death this is set, Sixshot's still being evil is questionable, considering how he turned from his evil ways by the end of the series.

1.) It's a self-driving model.
2.) It's not The Headmasters anime Sixshot.
And should the lion be considered part of Voltron, or Golion?

eesh, now we're starting to push it.
The skit could take place in a universe where Sixshot stayed evil and Jack somehow survived or was revived. The car mode could be said to be psychically linked to the actual headmaster, thus he could subconsciously drive the car.
As for the Lion, I'd go Voltron, as he is Legendary Defender. One could go so far as to claim Axiom Nexus, as I like that whole concept, but that's cheap, so I rely on someone with more knowledge to make a compelling case

You are correct on the psychic link between the transtector and the Headmaster. Already dealt in the Fortress comic about how they, the cream of the crop, cyberdroids developed physical and mental skills to be able to synchronize/merge with their transtector.
Btw, anyone know of a translated version of Astrotrain's manga?

That's a synopsis. I mean like the one which used your scans that were "translated" with speech bubbles.
Also, what's the deal with Cab in the meido outfit? Are they like turning him into female or something? Minerva as a kawaii police officer with mini skirts are plausible (just ask the Russians) but Cab? ( I almost found him attractive)

Back to Astrotrain/Sentinel Prime and Broadside. Though in Astrotrain's case, it blends well with his anime appearance but with Broadside,Lio, Sentinel and the 3x Optimus. What's the deal with those collapsible ear guards for?
They hamper the head's range of rotation.

I thought Sixshot's face turn seemed kinda forced. Zarak just decided to be a jerk to him all of a sudden for no reason, so he suddenly became a good guy... main takeaway from Headmasters is don't become friends with Chromedome because Sixshot might kill you!

Cancer with the aid of Shockwave is aiming to become a song idol, Wilder became a model, and Cab is working at a maid cafe (yes, they are real). Like coffee ladies, it seems crossdressing in that profession is pretty normal.

It's to "bulk up" the head in order to make it look more proportionate. The best part is that the whole assembly can rotate a little to the left and right. In the manga, Astrotrain's are in fact restraining devices, locking the head to the Transtector.

In Headmasters, even the transition of leadership from Rodimus to Fortress was too forced. Even Convoy's death "again" was forced. To sell toys?
In Masterforce on the other hand, ended to quickly.

That digibash is missing a lot of white though (the entire jet part) and I really hope there is more retooling than that. It would be awesome if the wings flipped so that it could look more like Dai Atlas.
And I do feel like Takara cold do this, it wouuld be fun.
Posted by Kurona on February 13th, 2017 @ 9:46am CST
All the key points are there; the helmet, the shape of the jet, the chunk and heft... even the base mode and the silly jet-on-tank modes kind of match up to Dai Atlas' original toy in some way. Passes the squint test, at least.
Clearly if this was the case it was somewhat early in the design process given other specific details pertaining to Black Shadow like the chest, but I can't help but look between TR Sky Shadow and G1 Dai Atlas and not see a lot of similarities.

You guys think they would be more likely to release Overlord before anything else. Is he more important than Dai Atlas?

Not really. Dai Atlas is one of the main guys in the Zone G1 cartoon, he's the one who created the planet that's the title of the show.
And since Takara gave us both Blaster and Soundwave (two leaders using the same base mold as part of the same line) there really arent any rules and patterns we can use to predict anything. Right now all is fair game. They could use the skyshadow mold for Dai Atlas and still release Overlord.

Given that the mold is clearly made with Overlord in mind first... yeah, it'll no doubt be released as Overlord. Still, their releasing an already-used mold as an exclusive isn't exactly unheard of.

Yeah, like Armada Megatron. They could release the skyshadow mold in DaiAtlas colours as a toy show exclusive. Or even part of the main line, as they did with Soundwave.

True, though Dai Atlas kind of has that... obscurity factor to him compared to Soundwave and Blaster that makes me feel like he'd be an exclusive. Plus while a lot of the features of the mold do match up with him, he's still very different from his original toy and character model due to the mold originally being made for Overlord. So something like that where it only just works also makes me feel like he'd be an exclusive.
(Also, Overlord is far more important than Dai Atlas - Overlord being the main villain of a full Anime compared to Dai Atlas being the main hero of an OVA when Transformers was starting to fail in Japan. It's a bit like comparing Megatron to Fort Max)

Nope, I don't see it. Colors are there but sculpting is not. The base mode is a good argument, were it not for the fact that both use the same basic layout, with the jet cockpit as a tower and the tank portion as platforms. The only thing the tank doesn't do is fold out in three parts.

Hello fellow Transfans!
Just thought I'd share exciting news about a possible Tokyo Toy Exclusive Legends Black Convoy listing I received from my local toy supplier. Its supposed to retail at ¥5,600 to be avaliable for release at the end of June 2017. Ive included a screenshot of the email sent as proof.
While we have no images, smart money is on this being Japan's release of the Titans Return Voyager Optimus Prime toy in Black Convoy colours (red, black and teal). As with Armada Megatron, this will probably be the only way to get the Takara version of the mold as Optimus since only Octane would be the wide release of that mold from Takara.

I would welcome a Nucleon Quest deco too possibly as a TRU exclusive so both Optimus get made in black - it makes more sense for the larger one to be a Black Heroic "Optimus" body though.
To add some interest perhaps the Larger Hasbro version of the mould would be suitable for a Western repaint of some kind too - I'd kind a like a Blue G2 Combat hero / Powered Convoy like one but i'd understand if Hasbro thought Nemesis Prime was a better idea. Not that I'm not interested to see what they plan to do with Magnus too.
