I just noticed that they have "United Gremrock" priced at the same price point as other Deluxe figures on that list. Isn't Generations Grimlock a Voyager?

Yes, but Classics Grimlock is a Deluxe...

That shouldn't be the case as the FoC Shockwave is seeing his Takara release in the Arms Micron line.

Not sure how I feel about getting Reflector. I am very interested in getting one of the robots that make up Reflector but a deluxe size seems a little large. Also the name should have been Viewfinder, Spyglass, or Spectro since Reflector was the camera.

More than likely he'll be a redeco of Perceptor since that was Hasbro's original plan all along.Decatron wrote:I've seen that 3rd party one which seems okay, but always wanted an official modern Reflector. Hopefully he gets his own new mold(s).

I'm also curious about Grimlock's position. I'd argue he would likely be the FOC Voyager, but someone already pointed out he's priced as a Deluxe. Didn't Takara pull Classics Grimlock into United already?
Shockwave is interesting as well. His FOC toy is already being used in the Japan's Arms Micron line.

I know they released it in Japan sometime. Just wasn't quite sure which of their lines it was. Unless its a re-release or a slight redeco?

Now if Takara Tomy will consider either reissuing Skyfire or adding a Jetfire to UNITED, then I'll be happy with the lack of a proper background for this series.

Sabrblade wrote:Wait, why are these listed as United figures when that line has more or less been converted into PCC via United EX and replaced by the Japanese Generations line?
The official site still lists both United and United EX in the same section. It would seem logical to use:
- United for Classics up to Generations plus their repaints
- United EX for PCC
- Generations for FoC molds
Which leads me to believe United Grimlock is actually a re-release of Classics Grimlock, not the FoC one. They've done it before with Bumblebee and Rodimus.

What makes even more sense in response to this is Grimlock's newfound popularity, possibly contributing to an "Evolution of Grimlock" pack, similar to the three pack "Evolution of Bumblebee" we seen several years back.

It would be very odd for them to use "Classics" Grimlock on account that they used it for the Henkei! line. So honestly, seeing how the Beast Wars pieces were originally unused "anniversary" molds, I am starting to hope and worry (at the same time) that they will not be using the Walmart exclusive "Transformers: Dinobots" version.

Doubt it. They haven't used a mold that old for United yet, as that was a 1996 Beast Wars mold redecoed for the 2003 Wal-Mart Dinobots release.KUMA-NIN Maximus wrote:So honestly, seeing how the Beast Wars pieces were originally unused "anniversary" molds, I am starting to hope and worry (at the same time) that they will not be using the Walmart exclusive "Transformers: Dinobots" version.

I'll remember that when I look at the reason why they reissued those figures. But it also does not explain why the list has every Generations/Fall of Cybertron figure being listed as a UNITED figure.
Or did you not mention that on the fanpage I found you tied to?
Oh, and please note that I respect Jelze on account she listens to those who disagrees with her (HINT!)... And know that making said conclusion is a common thing to do. But do not use her as a means of being right. Thanks.

Yet you have given me so many reasons not to use that as a reliable fact. My point is that I hope they do not do it, as they reissued not only Cheetus and Dinobot in 2008, but also numerous Hasbro sets in a traditional manner they established in 1985. However, I am not going to rule them out on account that they are usable and may possibly be used as a "UNITED" (or something among those lines) version of Dinoforce.
And if they do... They better add Star Saber into the mix.

Having a Starscream, Shockwave and Swindle under United does seem puzzling, for these reasons:
- The rest of the Combaticons are plain missing
- Optimus Prime and Jazz are properly listed under TG.
- After checking the ID numbers, they do not match the TG release order: Starscream is TG-09, Swindle is TG-06 (not even the first Combaticon in the list to boot) and Shockwave has yet to get one.
Color me crazy, but I suspect TakaraTomy is planning on restarting the United line again after EX is done, with repaints. They've used WfC molds as Cybertronian forms of G1 characters, and I have a feeling they're planning the same approach for Shockwave. Would be a first to use the same mold for two separate continuities, however I wouldn't rule it out. Remember, the games were never released in Japan.

TakaraTomy does have a penchant for using the molds Hasbro has designed on paper how they please. But even they have limits, I'm sure.

On Hardhead, I might just buy him and use a spare Warpath for an extra head to paint green so he can be Treds. That would look great with Bad Boy and Bugbite.
Reflector - would work, but pointless because the 3rd parties have already done the character in both G1 and neo versions. The mold really needs to be used for Soundwave instead.

Agreed, but I can't see it happening as long as there's a WFC/FoC Soundwave doing the rounds. Apart from the FoC figures voyager size and minion launcher they're conceptually almost the same.

Agreed. But a green Warpath would make a perfect Treds. And theres no shortage of extra Warpaths to get a head and paint it...

Agree with this, I do..lol......I got the Universe Hardhead with the Headrobots add on, co I'm more than happy with that, even though that particular mold seems like a logical use for him. I have the PE version of Reflector, which I'm more than happy with too. Plus, I honestly feel that Reflector should get his own mold. Shockwave?.....if it's not a repaint of FOC Shockwave, then yes. Grimlocck? If it's a repaint of Classics, that's a negative. I know that repaints of figures are inevitable, but can we get a little less of them?

Sorry, I can only color you salmon. They ran out of crazy.
But yeah... Originally, I was thinking that it might be a typo. But now I am thinking that this is not a Japanese listing, but one for their Asian market. Because it would make more sense rebooting the franchise there than them doing two lines that contain the same figures in Japan. Especially since they turned Ultra Magnus into a Chinese market exclusive for that line.
Even then, it doesn't matter. Because I just got back and "read" the second chapter of Transformers: All Spark. Lets just say it is my favorite manga series to date, and lets say that I would not oppose the idea of collecting figures from that series.
JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:TakaraTomy does have a penchant for using the molds Hasbro has designed on paper how they please. But even they have limits, I'm sure.
True. But I cannot rule it out on account that if they do reboot or revive the UNITED line, they would make good Dinoforce figures (especially since they say Kakuryu later became Grimmaster as a means to thank Star Saber).

And even then, I am concluding that UNITED will become an Asian market release. (Also, when I wrote that, my laptop was being a jerk. Sabrblade wrote:Yes, please!
Heh. Honestly, on my way to getting the latest issue of Kerokero Ace (BTW, Transformers: All Spark is my favorite manga-based Transformers series now), I was thinking how badly I want Super Ginrai, God Ginrai, Star Saber, Victory Saber, and Dai Atlas. And that once the Super GT version of Star Saber is up for preorder - I will have the same response.
Then again, he is the reason why I am not going to order any more Arms Micron figures anytime soon.

Except that United never gets released at retail elsewhere besides Japan. I honestly don't see the point of that Ultra Maguns. It was never releases at retail here, but sold through specific collector shops recognize on the "Transformer Asia" site. All these collector shops would import the regular United stuff anyways, why the need for an exclusive.
Basically, I think Generations is strictly FOC, and will have a different packing from the current United stuff.
Back in Cybertron Con, I asked if United had ended. The response was "United has not ended.

I agree. But the list also mentions DOTM Dark Megatron, which is an Asian release. Plus, TOMY stated to their investors that they want to spread their products to portions of Asia not covered by Hasbro. However, for all we know... Shockwave might be Armada's Tidal Wave. And the list is a mixture of Asian and Japanese releases. Especially since the pricing appears to be in USD, and we have no further information.
