It simply comes from the fact that the franchise is IMMENSELY popular right now. As far as brands go, right now I'd say Transformers is on a par with Harry Potter and surpassing Star Wars. It may be the most popular- read "valuable" franchise in marketing today...personally I can't think of anything more popular to a wider age group and demographic right now. Naturally, we end up with creepy stuff like this...
