Thunderwing is the same way.
I think it's odd that during Henkei, people liked those better because they were show accurate where Hasbro tended to toy accurate. Now it's flipped.
I will be sticking with the Hasbro versions on Warpath and Thunderwing this time around.

Rubsign aside, I wonder if the red on Windcharger is any different. I really overpaid for that guy when I bought him off ebay. Oh, well ... you win some, yo ulose some.

Windcharger is cool, as is Mirror Mirror Earth 2 Evil-Twincharger, but I'm not a huge fan of the concept. I'd have been far more likely to spend the thousand million pounds places are charging for those 2 Scout-class guys, if one had been a different mold. Rumble and Frenzy, the 2-pack of the same toy in different colours made perfect sense, and I passed on that because it was expensive, I'm not gonna give people all that extra money for something I only wanted one of in the first place. So, pass on them all, but on the plus side, more for everyone else.

I do wish they painted his hands black or silver along with the guns.

judging by Seibertron's gallery of RTS, they look identical. one thing that the pictures don't capture is a pearlescence to the red plastic.

That's not evil Windcharger, that's supposed to be the little black car partner Trypticon had in the old Marvel comics. Which makes this toy even weirder, since that guy must be utterly unknown in Japan.

I don't think there is any difference in Windcharger, other than the tampooed symbol. Man I want that Wipe-Out though.
On Thunderwing, I like the darker paint, darker clear parts, darker arms and legs of the Takara one, but prefer the Hasbro feet and guns. Just like with Perceptor, you need both to frankenstein the best version.

I was so close to ordering United Warpath. I was desperately looking for an excuse not to, and then Counterpunch points out that Generations is actually the closest to his animation appearance. Can't believe I overlooked that one. Cheers Counterpunch. Pass.
Thunderwing though.... Dammit! Such minor differences on a character who wasn't in the G1 animation shouldn't have as big an impact as they are having. Can't help but think United looks better and everytime I'd look at Generations I'd just think to myself "I have the inferior version." I'll take one you devious buggers.

Kibble wrote:I want Wipe-Out because he looks quite cool, but is it worth $50 for such an insignificant character along with a nice Autobot symbol upgrade? If these things were sold separately, sure...but I'm having a hard time dropping $50 for what amounts to a largely unnecessary scout figure.
There are still people wanting a Windcharger... Not me though, I already have one.

I'm sure...if I was one I'd be all over this set. But I too already have WC, making this set a difficult purchase. But hey, if anyone only wants WC, I'd be all about going in on a set!

Solution: Sell Thunderwing, and get Black Shadow, the superiest (Like superior, but the most superior) version of the mold!

It's crazy, United vs. Habsro Windcharger is like choosing between the 84 and 85 G1 versions. Autobot symbol or rubsign.
