The filming will take place April 12 on industrial property owned by Majestic Star Casino at Buffington Harbor. The scene is meant to take place in Ukraine and it is a "rather simple scene" portraying vehicles approaching the industrial property.
None of the principal stars of the movie, including John Malkovich, Frances McDormand, Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox, is expected to be on the set.

As much as I'd love to see the filming, I'll stick with the Magnificent Mile. It's much safer and less of a war zone.

Have you ever been across the Illinois/Indiana border headed towards Michigan? 94 East I believe. Well you go across this huge bridge (forget the name) and there's this industrial harbor area as far as the eye can see that looks really cool, that's where I think they are filming, somewhere in there (havn't look at a map yet, I could be wrong). If that's where it's happening then I wouldn't have any worries about safety as I really doubt there's much shifty business that goes on around that part. I suppose it's even possible you could catch them filming from the bridge area (it sits really high above everything), but the problem is you can stop or pull off the road in that area (unless you want a ticket).
I'm on the fence about going. About the only possible thing you could see is maybe autobot cars or something, or whatever new vehicles they're having in this one. Heck, since you don't know what you're even looking for you might miss it. Take a photo of everything I guess.

They could be lying. It could be the whole shabang. Why would they even want to tell the truth and have hoards of reporters and people trying to spy lurking about?

The entire region is dangerous. The bridge you are thinking of is the Skyway. Been over the Illinois/Indiana border more times than I can count. And every time I go there, I'm afraid. From what I understand, they will be filming at a Casino...in one of the most dangerous parts of town. Gary, IN: famous for the highest violent crime rate in the US, the second highest gun death rate (to Washington DC) in the US, the highest overall crime rate in the US, and lots of other fantastic stats!
And I know a lot of Transfans are already thinking: Maybe we'll get lucky and they will get Michael Bay while he's there!

I'm not scared of this area, I've been in worse (lost in Detroit!). I'm not familiar with the casino, but I think I'd be ok for a day. Where do you see they're filming AT the casino though? Lemmie know if you read that somewhere b/c I havn't. From what I see they own a huge amount of land in that area, so it could be a little ways from the actual building.
I'm pretty sure I'm going if I can lock down the location a bit better.

The Decepticons just love industrial properties.

Why Megatron always buys the electric company and water works when he plays Monopoly.
Megatron rime, I'll use the water works to make even more energon!
Optimus: I don't think it works that way in this game, Megatron.
Starscream: there he goes with the hydro-electrical power tirade again......
Megatron: just you watch Prime, one day ill cause tidal waves to create more power than you've ever seen.
Optimus: Sure when that day happens I'll paint myself with red flames and be a monkey's uncle.
