According to director Michael Bay this will be the location of a heroic turning point scene, which takes place after the fall of Hong Kong. A group of Transformers will meet up with another group Transformers where they battle their way out of a crater (Wulong Karst is known for it's sink holes) that was apparently created by a crashed starship. After the Wulong Karst battle they return to Hong Kong.
Here's a few images from the filming in Wulong Karst from Bay's website:

According to Chinese media outlets one of the filming sites will be the Wulong Karst National Geology Park in Chongqing. The next bit of information could be considered spoilerish, so if you aren't interested in such stop reading now.

Because that's where humans live.
This seems predictable, but I like it. Convenient dinobot explanation, I presume.

in DOTM, they crashed on the moon...
its not like they will crash on venus and humans will send someone to check if they did...
every crash transformers made on earth ties them more and more to humans...
maybe they'll find out the Allspark created us as well...

They landed on Mars looking for Megatron, who was looking for the Allspark. Sentinel crashed into the moon because he got shot down while he was looking for Megatron, as well.

Due to the recent script alterations, the crew was forced to once again visit the Three Natural Bridges scenery of Fairy Maiden Town in Wulong County on Monday, and used two helicopters to get several grand aerial shots of the tiankengs (giant dolines) and naturally formed bridges on Tuesday and Wednesday. The scenes they shot will be used in "Transformers 4" to add visual impact.

Not that they won't rise to the challenge, it just might actually be a challenge this time.

The fourth instalment of the "Transformers" franchise has just finished part of its shoot in China, and it features some beautiful natural scenery.
This cave, located in Wulong county of Chongqing Municipality, is a naturally formed karst landform. It was chosen as a location for the shoot of Transformers 4 for its breathtaking grandeur.
The final cut of this scene is about 2 and a half minutes. The shooting is mainly for a bird's eye view of the two bridge-like landforms, and a fight scene between transformers takes place under them. Then a transformer walks out from below the two "bridges". Huang Daosheng, Manager of Wulong Karst Landform Co., said.
Because the bridges are part of a world natural heritage, the film crew did a thorough test to make sure the shoot would not damage the bridge. The shoot has also lured a number of curious tourists to the site.
