Transformers Collectors' Club Membership Figure Lio Convoy In Hand Image

Gotta wonder whose side he's on if he's part of Uprising.

Ugh. I'm excited for this guy, but getting two predominantly white versions of this mold really makes me want a "Nemesis Pax." I know that makes sense in no continuity, even the name makes no sense... but I just want it.

As a side note, I do wish we'd have gotten a more traditional Orion Pax (read "gheee-wuuuunnnn") head on that mold... maybe as a Takara release.

BUT gotta agree. So glad I subscribed to 3.0. While I was skeptical at the start, these have come out looking really nice... and the deep-rooted, well-researched, sometimes-obscure choices were like a slow-starting now out-of-control wildfire. I'm really, really excited about those... especially the action masters and unreleased character reduxes.

Lio Convoy looks fantastic as well. As long as I keep those two white trucks FAR apart on the shelves... all will be cool. heh.

Great to get some BW vehicle bots to flesh out that lineup/shelf. (I know people say they are different universes, but hey... it's my shelves. I'll put them where I wanna.)

anyone know how orion pax scales next to Robot Masters lio convoy?

interesting though. Seems like they are close to the same height by my memory. Orion Pax was a painfully short deluxe. (yeah, I said deluxe) Like Trailbreaker/Hoist, I could have had that guy a head taller. Sigh.

Headsculpt looks small.. meh to be expected i guess.

Probably had to be small to fit in for transformation.

Looks kinda cool, looking forward to the Nova Prime version too strangely enough. I know it's too small to really be and IDW Nova Prime, but the mockups looked pretty cool.

eh. Looks in proportion and pretty good to me. I'd like to see it from some other angles before judgement.

Looks like this is a day for new TFSS (Transformers subscription service) images. On the same day, the Transformers Club official facebook page has posted a picture of the upcoming Serpentor figure while E-bay seller lena81822 has posted images of Carzap and Lio Convoy, the later we've already reported earlier.

Here are the mirrored pictures of Serpentor and Carzap who use the Generations Ratbat and Generations Bumblebee (deluxe).

I like that Serpentor.

I would totally eat up a Botcon set with G.I. Joe Transformers.

Carzap looks great...I hope we get a repaint of him as Windbreaker.

Sepent O.R. looks worse than his first revealed pictures. His "gold" is the color of earwax. Cannot unsee that.

Carzap is nice, though a little less interesting than was first teased.

I like Serpentor's chest painted to look like a serpent's face.

Sepent O.R. looks goddamn atrocious, if it were actual gold, and now wax in color, I might change my tune; but Takara Tomy's Senator Ratbat is probably the best use of the mold in general.

while my feelings arent quite as strong, i do agree. the preliminary photoshopped gold was a lot nicer.

That Carzap is looking awesome... Not sure how I feel about the chromed weapons, but that chromed helmet is sleek.

Serpent O.R. is less to my liking... Why did they have to replace the gold with that brown? Ugh.

I think I have transparent versions of those a microns, but not much interest in Serpent.O.R. Might reserve judgement until I see in person.

... is it too late to beg for the snake "eye" tampos to be changed? I can live with the less stunning colors because I figured that the beautiful metallic deco they teased us with was too good to be true. I think the yellow will look better in person. But those eye tampos... for the love of god, at least remove the black outlines or do SOMETHING to make them look less like they were drawn on in MS Paint.

heh, so it turns out my Microns were actually purple, not blue. Still not pink, but I kinda like it...



It's not like I have any other use for any of that micron set...

I love a nice repaint as much as the next bot but I have never been a fan of the 'Beast Era' of Transformers but I like the idea of integrating older fiction/eras as current earth based alt modes.

I would like to see more of this happening. Im surprised the much loved Dinobots never got a alt mode vehicle make-over?

Some people are just that scared of GPS happening and watching their figures crumble into dust. Personally I'm glad FunPub went with that brown.

And no, gold paint does not cause, or affect GPS.

I'm failing to see the appeal in this figure, though I can say that about a number of the Clubs Subscription figures. I just don't get it.

I have to say... if they could work out the deal and release a set of GI Joe crossover transformers... I'd buy the whole line. Just not changing into a giant Baroness, Wild Bill, etc. That's ridiculous.

By preference, I'd love to see a couple of leader characters — tank megatron, truck prime in camp (like Bape Prime) to lead them — plus a full line of new characters that transform into the classic Joe vehicles... all with great bulky mech designs and accessories, missile batteries, etc. (Kinda like some of the Power Core bots looked.) I can dream.

Meanwhile, Serpentor is an excellent first venture into that crossover world. Bravo.

And I'd add that there are more things that control the color than just picking it out of some swatch books. Toys are made from different plastics, each with its own tolerances, brittleness, ability to accept paint (or not at all, sometimes. See the unpainted side panels of the Million Publishing GoShooter for instance.)

I'd wager they chose the best gold color they could choose given the plastics the toy has to be made from.

Remember how the top hood of G1 Scrapper is a duller green than the rest of him? This is the same issue. Softer plastic has different color restrictions.

So as the other options, we might be looking at bright gold parts mixed with "earwax" parts... or painted bright gold with oddly-placed unpainted panels.

You have to know they are making the best choices available to deliver us a great looking toy (that won't break.) Let's cut them some slack. It's not like someone there just prefers a duller brown. I'm sure it's a necessary evil, if anything.

Still looks really good. If it bothers me, maybe I'll get some gold paint and try my luck. Heh.

You're reading me incorrectly. I do understand that gold plastic system is a problem with plastic, not paint.

If you're THAT scared of gold plastic, gold paint is a solution that will fix that ugly as sin LPSS (Linkin Park Soundwave Syndrome).

Well serpentor is definitely the dud of the set. What happened to the shiny green paintjob the club teased ? I thought it was going to be the shiny plastic used on senator ratbat but in green ? Instead they deliver the puke bot. On a side note all this detailed talk about the color of earwax is very disturbing. Use Debrox guys...

Sorry, but they're just icky so far. Serpent OR is snot brown, Carzap is just bland, and Leo Convoy's head looks ghastly. Out of all of these, Tarantulas seems to be the only one worth getting.

So, what is going on with the KO-tastic deco of Carzap? Is this Generation 2 all over again!

All things considered, I think it's probably a GOOD thing that some people don't like the club exclusives.

If the mainstream Bumblebee-hording, Bay-following, just-discovered-Transformers-because-of-the-live-action-movie masses were on board, then I'd think TFCC didn't do their homework or dig deep enough. (Not saying those fans are bad... they're actually helping keep the franchise alive and funding this whole adult niche market franchise. Cheers for those protoform fans.)

BUT I'm glad to be in the niche that these toys are aiming for, and I tip my hat to them for the efforts.

I'm glad some of these are home runs in their final form. Krok looks breathtaking. CarZap looks on point... and will be a neat addition to the G2 shelves along with G2 Screamer. Looking forward to seeing more final samples.

Funny you should say that, as Zap (aka Windbreaker in the US) is considered a G2-original mold

Carzap was to be the Japanese release of the G2 Zap/Windbreaker mold, as part of a line called Block Town. The line features building block sets, similar to Lego sets, with a Transformer: that's what the deco and the included Kre-O set were inspired by. Sadly, the line was never released, but images of what could have been are available online.

The Lio Convoy was the one I was looking at. Though I suppose I could say the same for the Serpent-OR figure. And while I like the overall aesthetic of Carzap, I am tiring of that mold.
The only Series 3 figure I would consider getting would be Krok. I think he looks awesome!

Giving the different versions of that mold a bit different transformation (ie. doors along the side of the arms like the original G1 toy) helps differentiate them on the shelf. There is also a 3P chest coming for Nightbeat.
