Balancing Update

Transformers News: Transformers: Earth Wars - Fire on the Mountain Event

Last week we gave you a heads-up of the balancing changes that we were looking into. We’ve been listening to your feedback and some of these changes are set to go live within the game later this week.

22-September-2016 - Release 1.30.2

• Behaviour improvements to all bots - When retargeting, bots are more likely to attack defensive bots than nearby buildings.
• Defense Hack (Bombshell) - Ability cast range increased from 14 to 16. Duration increased by 10%.
• Healers - Increased attack (not heal) range slightly to keep them out of harm’s way when not healing.
• Galvatron - Ability range increased from 15 to 16.
• Ultra Magnus - Ability range increased from 13 to 15.
• Cluster Strike - Increased cast range, increased area of effect, reduced spread
• Line Barrage - Reduced cost by 1, increased splash damage radius.
• Bombing Run - Cost reduced by 1, increased splash damage radius.
• EMP Rockets (Mirage/Breakdown) - Cost reduced by 1, increased splash radius by 50%, increased projectile spread, base duration increased by 0.5s, upgrades add 0.4s (from 0.35s)
• Quick Strike - Cost on repeated use increased by 1, to bring it a bit in line with other Airstrikes.
• Huffer has upgraded his 'Baby Turret' with something more impressive, it also has extra 10% damage and health.

What's a depleted crystal

This should be nice for some extra 3-star shards anyway.

.

Less ADD from the Insecticons?

Less Breakdown running after build bots?

Can we say.... yay!

I'll believe it when I see it. I have no doubt they will still walk past weapons just to get to a defensive bot. Here's a thought, have them target the closest thing attacking them!

That would maybe be a baby step up from the current system where they attack the closest building, period. I predict bad results, though, if you skip some weaponry on your rush to the HQ and the AI decides to attack the Laser turret on the other side of the base that is well out of range to hurt you rather than the HQ a few squares away.

And i'm going to bring up something pointed out in the line chat. If each prestige is only 50 rubies, and you get 20 prestiges, and roughly 8-10 rubies per fight.... that's only a few fights from each member of the alliance to max the event, and we're probably locked out of the event zones after, so no more double XP. Pending a correction by Space Ape, the best strategy seems to be for everybody to break away from the alliance and found their own for the event until they get to prestige 20 or the end of day 3, then rejoin the main and we'll finish together.

But this is, again, pending word from Space Ape.

According to Kurthy, from the Twitch feed... this weekend is an individual event, not an alliance event, but you must need not be in an alliance
Re: Transformers: Earth Wars - Fire on the Mountain Event (1827249)

On the positive side, this means everyone will have more chances to take advantage of the Double XP - if it was the whole alliance that would be gone pretty quickly what with the 20 prestige and the requirement for each prestige being... what, 5 battles?

And let's face it, for this sort of event the Double XP is the biggest benefit.

New Characters
This weekend Hot Spot and Cyclonus are making their way through the Space Bridge to join the fight on the battlefield!

Image
Hot Spot
"Never ask anyone to do what you won't do yourself" are practically the words Hot Spot lives by.

He leads by example, always striving to be the best he can be, but never puts himself above those in his command.

You'll find him at the forefront of any battle charge, howling his defiance, cannons blazing, and even when the victory is won, he never truly stands down, always ready to serve... and protect.

Image
Reflective Shield - Put on a protective shield that reflects 50% damage back to the attackers for several seconds, then charge the target. Attracts defenses!

Image
Cyclonus
Though both intelligent and awesomely powerful, Cyclonus is also a cold and consummate professional, one who oozes contempt aimed at those who would undermine the Decepticon cause for personal advancement.

He'd rather earn the respect of his fellow Decepticons through his actions than simply by flexing his muscles.

In both space jet and robot mode he's one of the most physically powerful warriors in existence.
Image
Bombing Run - Drops 12 bombs in a line across the target dealing damage.

60 Prestige, 5,500 BP total for each one; so to complete this event, you need...

330,000

nope nope nope nope nope nope nope n

Anyway, nice to see Cyclonus finally arriving. Finally, another Lost Lighter :D

I was thinking this was an alliance event, where we collectively add to the total and thus 60 prestige would be reasonable. Was I mistaken?

And if I am mistaken, that doesn't bode well for this weekend when I'll have negligible free time to play the game and earn crystals.

It is an alliance event, yes, but judging by past events we won't get anywhere near 330,000.

Well all we have to do is as much as we can. They set these high so the hardcover people don't blow through it too fast.

We'll fill out the ranks by bringing those that are very active from Seibs II, whatever space we have left we can pick up stragglers (sometimes they turn out to be keepers!). And just do our best. We'll still get crystals, just not 60 of them.

I hate them too.

Also, Kurona... in the last alliance event, several of us scored 5000+, 6000+ bps. Some of us did, others sulked and barely broke 1500. Done right we could possibly get 40 levels completed. But that would require most of us to do everything we can.

To note, I work Friday and Saturday nights and can still score almost 6000 bps. Granted I fell asleep face planted firmly on the phone's screen mid battle, but it is possible to do.

For what it's worth, I think this is going to be more like the Viper event. The Viper crystals had a better chance of actually delivering the character. I landed a 2 star that event. :)

I'm in Seibs 2 and I just got a 3-star Cyclonus from the 2nd crystal. Not sure how everyone else is fairing.

EDIT: Also, I'm not a fan of this rule about having to have line. 1st off, isn't the group made for users of Seibertron? 2nd off, why line? Why not something more common like Discord? With how often you post in these threads you could just have a perma-link to a Discord chat for the groups in your signature.

What's your in game username? It helps me understand situations when I know who you are.

Also, Line.. not a rule, it's a request. Yes, you miss a lot not using it because that's where the rest of us do all our chatting. IF it was required (you'll notice no where have I ever said it was required) you'd already be kicked for not using it. Not required.

Why Line and not Discord? Because I had never heard of Discord... but everyone else in Earth Wars uses Line so we chose that (and I hate Skype and AIM).

I don't uderstand why there's surprise over something that we've been putting in the announcements, mentioning in ingame chat for like a month now.

Do I recommend it? Yes. Do I require? No. Though a month and 24 people signing up ago, it would have been nice if those who objected had said something. I would have explored other options if anyone had said something before we convinced a lot of people to sign up.

Prepare for bold letters.... (and this isn't directed to anyone in particular)

Before the event started, we made several announcements in Seibs II it game and one here that we would like everyone to move to the main alliance for this event. Very few people responded.

Yes I did originally say you had to meet the 3000 bps requirement. But I haven't enforced it this event. However I still had a few talk to me about it and they were told not to worry, just to dour their best. Communication... is very important.

We did this to help everyone. Several people were going to be busy this weekend and we figured instead of trying to split time between the two, we'd move everyone to where they could benefit the most.

No one ever reads these forums.

No one ever reads chat

Barely anyone took the offer to go to where they could benefit the most.

I'm sorry to those who are sore about the lack luster performance of II this weekend and the officers bailing on the alliance. Dizz and I moved our second accounts to where we could help the most.

I'm sorry for those who feel II is mismanaged, however, it falls back to very few people paying attention to chat. We do the best we can, but when no one reads the chat, we can't be faulted. Since very few from II have joined Line, we make sure everything (not just important announcements) is said in in game chat.

The alliance is not a democracy, but it is not a dictatorship either. I do not yell "off with his head!" every time someone makes me mad (despite popular belief) and I do listen to everyone. But you have to talk for me to listen. Command and I make our decisions on what benefits the alliance as a whole and the information we have available.

We aren't making world ending decisions either... moving people to Main.. not world ending. Choosing Line over Discord, not world ending. But like it said, no one said anything about not liking it until we already had 20+ people signed up.

Considering I make mention of the Seibertron Alliances every week in the news, maybe you should be posting announcements here as well.

As Railbomb said, not everyone wants to use Line. So why should they be missing out just because it's your belief that "no one ever reads these forums"? Which is utter garbage. This particular thread may not be active, but then it's activity has died down since Line was introduced.

So yeah ... that's my 2c. >:oP

I posted here that we wanted everyone to move.

I don't require them to use Line. It is just easier for most of us due to character limits in game. I'm not purposely excluding anyone, but it's not my fault they muss out on the chit chat. Important stuff s always put in in gamr alliance chat and the MOTD.

Burn, no offense, but even you used to say no one used the forums.

We've been getting crap from everyone left and right this weekend. I'mean sorry no one pays attention to in game chat. Not my freaking fault.

Best I got was a 3* Cyclonus. Others got a 4*, that's fine. I did just under 8k, others did up to 13k, others did as little as 2k.

I'm okay with what I didn't get, because I got a bunch of spark and crystal shards, plus copious amounts of energon which have helped me level up a few abilities.

I posted that I want people to use Line in Seibertron II because we said half a dozen times at least in the in game chat and people -still- didn't listen. I have been saying since Wednesday to go up to the main't con alliance for the event. It wasn't to benefit us in the main, it was to get people in II the most rewards so they could make their teams better.

Now personally, I could Have given a crap about Line. I already have Viber to talk to friends from PSN. But I can't always load up Seibertron with its 16 advertisements per page. My data already gets throttled from playing the game, and my old phone couldn't load a page here without rolling a dice as to whether or not it would actually load.

It tells me something though when the only time people pay attention to the in game chat is when they're told to get line or else, and one arguement is retarded "Why, this is for Seibertron not line" because obviously you can't mix the two. Worlds will end if you use a messenger service to communicate quickly on a mobile device while playing a game for a mobile device while in an alliance for this website.

I also don't know if ya'll are aware, but not everyone in the alliances are from here. We have pushed people to join this website when joining the alliance though, but a lot of them are also on line.

*edit*

Also, I got all three of Cyclonus and Hotspot.

The argument that you need an external messenger for a game with a built in one to begin with is dumb. If they don't check a built in one what makes you think they'll check a separate one? And not everyone has to be a chatter bug in the chat to be paying attention. Now, your old phone not being able to load this site, I don't know what to say about that, but I'd imagine you still have access to a computer if you have a phone, so checking here shouldn't be a problem. I get that not everyone that's in the alliance isn't from this site or has an account here, one of my friends being one of those people, but purging people based off of them not having an external app that's redundant instead of not having an account on here is kind of dumb.
Re: Transformers: Earth Wars - Fire on the Mountain Event (1830169)
Posted by Burn on October 3rd, 2016 @ 2:21am CDT
The biggest problem with the in-game chat system is it only retains so many messages. Some people get chatty and important discussions are missed.

This also happens on Line. If I only have time to check it once a day, there could be 400+ messages I could either scroll through and read, or just jump to the bottom and join the conversation of the last half hour or so.

Either way, if it's important game related messages, they're going to get missed regardless of what system you use if people are incredibly chatty. That being said, I've seen Line discussions regarding figures that could be discussed on the forums here, from people who are actual members. That's their decision though. I know there's some people on this site I'd love to ignore. :-P

I get that not everyone that's in the alliance isn't from this site or has an account here, one of my friends being one of those people, but purging people based off of them not having an external app that's redundant instead of not having an account on here is kind of dumb.

Who are you on game?

Also... WTF? Why is this argument a thing and why is it being escalated?

I brought up using an external chat initially because AZ had great difficulties getting his phone to allow him to use in game chat as well as there was many times important things would drop off because the in game chat is crap. Character limits, message retention, even smaller character limits for the message of the day made it seem like the better thing to do was use an external system.

I understand that not everyone talks in chat but will read chat. Howevee, last weekend was the proof that very few read the in game chat. If you don't read the chat, then you miss out. Like I said... we made sure to mention it in game several times, it was barely mentioned in Line. It was mentioned in this thread on Friday.

But, I have to wonder... is it an external chat you object to or if it's the choice of chats you object to as you asked why not Discord.

You are being case in point for the very thing you are arguing here... why didn't you take the offer to move to Main alliance for the event? Why are you seeming to be unaware we asked a month ago for everyone to use Line? We posted about it repeatedly in in game chat and I left it in the message of the day for weeks. We kept telling everyone for days to move to main.

If you don't like mine or AZ's decisions, that's fine, by all means, tell us, we'll see what we can do to accommodate everyone. Just don'the ignore the chat, the MOTD, and then days/months later complain about it. I can't fix what I don't know about.

Lastly... Seibs II is a recruiting alliance, not a stand alone alliance. We have it so we can get to know people and see their progress so we can move them to the main alliance. But I can not spend the time in Seibs II chat to get to know everyone. And the only way we have to share a chat between alliances is external chats. It makes no sense for an alliance spanning in game chat, SpaceApe isn't going to put one in.

If anyone doesn't like that, sorry. But it is my option at this time. It's how it is done the bigger alliances because when your handling more than one alliance, communication is extremely important, and being in every in game chat is not an option.

Burn...

The toys pictures and discussion I'll ask they move to the forums if it goes into any depth. I'm cool with that.

However, the general alliance discussion I will not have in this thread. This is not the Decepticon Alliance thread, it is a general game thread. I don't like bogging it down with the discussion about what we're making for dinner and poking fun at bad base designs we encounter (and to be honest, the forums don't allow me to upload a screenshot for some reason).

In Line we also have the ability to post permanent notes, so we can have our guidelines, the spreadsheets, the guides, all where everyone can see them. We don't have that ability here in this thread without it getting pushed off the current page and having to repost everything every couple of days. (We have a Facebook page too where we do that, but even so,Line still works better)

The in game chat has a character limit.

Line pops up like a text message, you can see messages without opening it.

I do have a computer. It also needs to be replaced. That doesn't help when I am not home, so that argument doesn't make a lot of sense.

If wanting people to use Line is redundant because there is an in game chat, wouldn't your counter arguments of using an external website and/or computer to communicate also be redundant?

Burn does make the best argument, as we are a chatty bunch. Seibs II alliance not so much, so if people aren't reading that other than when I get annoyed at people not listening to instructions and then demanding promotions. So if people aren't going to listen there when the posts don't move for days, why should I expected it on Line or here?

Now, this is also my bad. I thought we were making Line a requirement. If we are not, then I won't boot people for not having it.

I'm only going to say this once this week though. If this weekends event is an alliance event (I expect a leaderboard event) then move up to the main Decepticon alliance Thursday. Preferably after the war is done, but if we are losing it won't matter. That way you will get more of the event rewards.

I wasn't making Line a requirement, but I also wasn't going to countermind your decision. End of the day I may be the commander for the Decepticon Alliance as a whole, but you are commander of II. I support your decisions (just didn't know what had been said in game at first)
Re: Transformers: Earth Wars - Fire on the Mountain Event (1830216)

I have issues with the in-game chat due to the aforementioned reasons involving the inability to have permanent notes, the holdover for the chat (anything over 3-4 hours gets wiped), character limits, inability to post URLs, and the fact if you're playing on the phone the text is horribly microscopic and feels like you need reading glasses to see.

Honestly, I've heard of Discord before and never heard of Line so I was reluctant. I do know that such decisions on what messenger we use show fall to the person(s) in charge of the group we are partaking in. They call the shots, we follow. That's all there is to it. Sure, we can suggest others but at the end of the day this is their decision and their show, we are choosing to partake in it.

I was staff on a couple sites and even running my own website for close to two decades. We'd constantly hop messengers from ICQ, AIM, MSN, and to Skype. The simple fact is you need a third party client to communicate and talk to people to coordinate efforts and develop a focus. It's the same thing here with this group. We want to do our best and this is just a step in that direction. Yeah the Line chat does get off-topic, but the crucial thing is that important information is put into the notes section so it does not get lost. The simple fact here is, everybody diverges from the main topic at points. It's just something that happens. It builds camaraderie as well too.

Not everything from our notes section is posted on the Seib forums, but mostly critical announcements are. That could change though, but what matters is the important stuff gets on here and in news posts.

That was rather strange when that guy joined and asked for a promotion

I saw the message saying to move up to the main alliance but I knew I was going to be busy this weekend and didn't want to mooch of everyone else. I'll be sure to communicate better next time. But I will argue that Discord is a better fit for our needs than line if we need an external messaging app. It allows for multiple chat channels within a group, tags for easy identification of who's in which alliance, pinning of post, and chat history doesn't get deleted. Just a suggestion.

EDIT: TBH we should start a Decepticon Alliance thread on here. And my name in-game is ValdorKing.

Again... what's your in game username?

PM if you don't want to say publicly, but knowing who I am talking to is a huge help. There's no repercussions, unless you have a history of troublemaking, which no one in Seibs II does.

As far as Stickman, he did not ask for a promotion as near as I can tell, he has been a member of Seibs II for a time, but has never communicated he desired to moved to main alliance or anything. He was looking to get to the big leagues it looked like to me.

Which this all goes back to what I was saying before... communication. We need it in the alliances. We don't have it.

I will be willing to entertain a different chat. However, and again, we have had Line in the announcement for about a month and no one spoke up. We convinced others to join Line. So now it becomes... everyone has to agree to make a move before a move will be made.

I don't think we can have our own page. As I recall, that was brought up before and was shot down. I even suggested invading the HMW section since no one uses it.

As CF said we'd need to convince everyone to change, but we can do most if not all of that with Line. I am currently in like 5 line chats because I also have an autobot account. Each chat is labeled by the creator of it I think. Switching between chats is like switching between text messages. I like it better than Viber to be honest, but I never heard of all three.

I can understand the not wanting to mooch, but that's what we want ya'll to do for events. We know most of the guys in Seibs II won't score thousands of points for the event, but we want you to have the best chance to improve. Seriously, you missed out on 20 crystals plus a 5k spark, 500 3* shards, 1m alloy, and 500k energon. That frustrates me. I want everyone to do well and succeed. My goal is to get everyone in Seibertron II up to the main alliance permanently. And I let Stickman frustrate me by demanding that after we told people to move up.

At the end of the day, can't we all just get along and beat up TFW2005's Alliances? Image

I've been encouraging a cross faction pummeling of the TFW2005 alliances. Also, trouncing them on the alliance leaderboards.

It's both our long term, and short term, alliance goals.

(I did attack one of their bases a week or so ago... it made me smile)
