Very simple event this time round, then. Basically just an EXP farm with no particular goal.

On the other hand, that's a LOT of shards we're getting. It also means I'm getting a new 3-star this weekend... yay (save me I have so many dudes to train up already)

I'm wondering what the Ocean Amethyst give us, and what they mean by a "4 week Sharkticon Saga"

Probably just a four week "story".

I have not been able to participate in this event like I had hoped. My wife and I bought a car charger for our phones at Five Below which proceeded to zap both of our phones. It's likely to be a few days before any resolution is reached. I am JakePrime.

Cool, thanks. Of course we thought we thought we made out so awesome by getting a charger with two usb ports. Now both iphones are out with no insurance and past the warranty. I'll be communicating with Five Below customer service momentarily about this.

I don't known if this is the same problem and it's to late to help, but I know Kia's need some special adaptor cable for iPhone to keep them from breaking the phone or the car.

I found burn last night, or rather he found me... I'd be interested in joining a seibertron alliance. Name is Sunstar if I am active - at the time. I'm a cook so I will be on after work (late at night)(EST)

I am very low level at the moment so I would like some patience...

If you're a Decepticon we'll take you in to Seibertron II if you're below HQ 10. Seib II is almost more for casuals too in a way too. I'm an officer at the moment in 2 and after a brief inspection I can add you.

Burn sent me a heads up he came across you.

We have no way of searching for members, but you can search for alliances, just tap the alliance tab on the bottom right corner in game and go to the find alliance option. Type in Seibertron and you will get 3 choices.

As Tyrannacon said, since you are HQ 10 or under, request to join Seibertron II. We have no clue who Seibertron 99 is, but I think it may be result of beta or an oops by someone else.

Okay... remember about two weeks ago when I said I'd post the rules for Seibertron/Seibertron II Alliances? Finally copied them.

Here we go, everyone who is not on Line (why not? Kurthy has Corgi stickers!) read:

New rule #1, we do not take our dirty laundry to the forums. It does not belong here. If you have an issue, contact one of the command. If you can't.... then PM one of us on the board. It's not like most of us haven't posted all over the thread.

This is the very reason why we set up Line chats. Because you can easily get in touch with any of us in a chat or privately and I KNOW FOR CERTAIN it will not disappear if there is an update, chat, or time has passed. Line integrates very smoothly with mobile devices and is widely used. That is why it was chosen. If you choose not to use Line, then you will be responsible for keeping track of ways to get a hold of us. I'm not saying that to be difficult, I'm saying it because we have offered the best way to communicate we could. If you choose not to use it, then your choice means you have to find a better way to contact us.(my Line ID is: ctrlfrequency, you can look me up by that)

So, point #2... We have some rules about Seibertron Main. Rule #1 of course is HQ 10 min to join. We also prefer that the emplacements be upgraded to at least one level of the max for the HQ level. We are going to enforce that a bit more (however everyone has been making great progress). Despite applicant's level, if you want to join Main and are not upgraded, I will ask them to go to II until they can qualify, I don't care if they're level 10 or level 14, We are not budging.

Rule #3, conditions of remaining in Main require a minimum of 3000 bps... for the weekend (so 1000 a day). It's not that hard. My Seibs II account can do it. It's HQ 8. (but if for some reason you can't make the min, let us know. We will excuse it).

Rule #4, don't question the commander, she doesn't like it.

(okay, you can, but put it politely)

Rule #5, we represent Seibertron. Act accordingly. Be polite, be courteous. I don't want the big guy PMing me with a "WTF?"

As for Seibs II....

Disclaimer: Seibs II is a recruiting alliance. If you want to move up you need to follow all Seibs Main's rules. Plus you need to communicate with us. Communication is a HUGE problem over there. I don't check in on your bases. I do monitor participation. So we don't know when you are ready to move up if you don't tell us.

There' s no minimum there, but we do expect forward progress. If you are not progressing, we are not moving you. Upgrade, participate, communicate and things will go well.

Once a week we will be moving people up from II for events as long as we are seeing participation from them. Especially since Main is not full. This benefits everyone, but especially the lower levels because you get to "mooch" as it were. We do that for a reason, when one of us gets stronger, we all do. So it's not mooching, it's helping. It's the only way we can.

FYI:
Your commanding officers are ctrlFrequenc(y), Dizziness (BDizz76 on the forums), King Kuuga (That Bot in game), AbsoluteZero, Tyrranacon, and Megatronus.

If you need help, have a problem, gonna be busy, what ever you might need... contact one of us. The best way to do that is here on the forums or on Line. In game chat tends to misplace things.

Last weekend's event did not go well, so we're going to have to stop taking it easy on everyone. We have a requirement for event points, must be met unless you have indicated there was an issue preventing you from putting in the time (real life first, you know).

Communication is extremely important in our alliance.

If we are winning by a landslide, or loosing horribly in a war, you must still participate. Even if you can't take out a base, still try.

That is all, ctrlFrequency out.

(or at least on to other stuff that needs finished before being devoured by Unicron)

Walls fall under defenses. So yeah, max those puppies. Ask Dizz about the war he spent pounding on level 13 walls :-(

Walls are extremely important, extremely.

A bit of a guide on base building... though some info is now (like 2 months later) outdated. Most of this is better at higher levels, but adapt to your framework and use as a foundation.

ctrlFrequency wrote:Okay, filthy Autobots, turn off your optics, I need to give some advice to the Alliance. Thank you.

Guys... bases... let's talk.

I don't like butting into anyone's way of playing (mostly because I'm no expert) but we have a couple of bases in the Alliance that need a little work... for your benefit as well as the Alliance's benefit (remember, you are all potential bases in the war).

I will give you some basics for base layout here, anyone with corrections or additions are welcome to join in the discussion.

HQ placement

You want your enemy (the Autobots) to be dead before they reach the HQ. Or at least close to it.

Put your HQ as far back as you possibly can.

Defend your HQ

Place your defenses so that your HQ is covered by them. The toughest bases for the enemy to take down are the ones where they have too many things hitting them at one time that they can't control them.

When you move your defenses, it shows you a little circle around them. Those are 'aggro radius', meaning the defenses will activate as soon as an enemy enters that circle.

If those circles overlap, and cover the HQ, then lots of things will be hitting the enemy as they approach their objectives... and if they take some of them out, then there's other defenses covering to shoot at them. It is insanely easy to take out a base where the radius were too far apart and the guns weren't firing.

Know your defenses

Did you know that the outposts don't take damage? You can shoot those until the end of the world, and until the bots pop out, the outpost won't take damage. I use them as spacers so if someone brings along a Jazz *laughs uncontrollably* the AOE (area of effect, not Age of Extinction) doesn't do jack, but the area is still defended.

Speaking of outposts, choose your bots wisely. Put your best bots in there with the right abilities. I like gunners and warriors in there myself. Gunners have range and if your enemy isn't paying attention....

Mortars, beam lasers, and missile launchers all have a cool down timer, which are all different, so there will be a pause between firing for each of them. Layer their radiuses with each other so there's always something firing.

Stupid scrap the AI makes bots do

For some unknown reason (at least to me) the AI of the game loves to send your bots after the buildbots when you're attacking someone.

So this is handy on defense. Stick those buildbots somewhere to distract or lure your enemy. Yes, set a trap. We're Cons, we do that scrap. Take advantage of that nuance in the AI for your defense.

They also like to chase down stupid scrap instead of the things shooting at them. So they will actually go after non weapons (walls, harvesters, storage, the HQ) even when something is shooting at them (not ALL the time, but a lot of the time)
Yes, my Kickback and Skrapnel would spend hours shooting at the walls instead of the mortars that are blasting them. (Insecticons have ADD anyway)

The bots generally won't leave a target once they acquire it, so walls... fantastic things to distract them with. No points, and if upgraded, a tough target.

Be mindful, though, your research lab and space bridge give extra AP, so keep them back out of the way.

Those are my basics. Everyone has a different way of designing their base though, so I'm not going to say my layout is best, but those are just observations from being a person who studies the playbacks (of when I'm defending, usually not attacking). I've attacked a lot of bases, and the easiest are the ones too spread out with the HQ undefended (basically stick the defenses in the front and the HQ all the way in the back with no guns near it) or the HQ is right in the front (I love those)

A little note on upgrading....

Don't rush upgrading your HQ and neglect upgrading your defenses. Upgrading your HQ puts your base in a higher bracket in the battle zones, and you will be attacked by tougher players. If your defenses are a few levels behind, then you are barely a speedbump to attackers.

This helps us in war, but also helps you in normal scenarios. The harder it is to defeat you, the less chance the enemy will take your resources... you want to keep those resources. Don't hand the enemy alloy, energon, and medals... you are only making them stronger. You are better off taking forever (ask Burn how long he was at level 12) upgrading all your defenses before upgrading your HQ. You will keep more resources and help us win wars (which will give you sparks, yo).

Walls= really important! Your mortars and missiles can fire over them and will pound your enemy as they try to breach your walls. Some of their bots may not make it.

Status mines= really important! I was a slow learner on this one, but stopping the enemy in their tracks is a good idea. Especially if they are standing there being shredded by your beam lasers or something.

Upgrading your other defenses means it takes more damage to destroy them. So the enemy has to be tougher and you aren't handing out your medals and resources to n00bs. Also, they do more damage... duh.

Been meaning to add....

In looking into the outposts, we've found that the outpost itself modifies the bot that's inside's stats... but not to the better.

The outpost modifies damage and health to lower than the stats the bot normally has.

For instance, if you have a bot with 2000 damage and 5000 health, those stats will be modified to lower to reflect the level of the outpost. So like 90% of their normal stats.

So it behooves everyone to put their highest level bots with the highest upgraded abilities in there. People used to say just put any old 2 star in there as long as they had a good ability.

The ability is also determined by the stats of the bot. For instance Starscream's bomb, when you level the bot, when the stats go up, the ability's damage goes up too. Raising the ability doesn't raise the damage of the bot, but raising the damage (through levelling) raises the ability. (for damage dealing abilities... which most are)

That depends on how you look at it.

No it doesn't help the bot's base stats, but it does help them do more damage (when you use the ability)

They'll still do the same damage in normal melee no matter what level the ability is at. But when you use the ability, it will do more damage the higher level it is.

Approved. Yeah, also in case you didn't see I messaged you about getting a third party messenger as the Earth Wars chat is utterly craptacular due to character limits. The program is called Line it is available for both PC and mobile. It's actually very handy and useful for our needs and ability to coordinate better.

Upgrading your bots abilities is VITAL. The other trick is working out who complements who and which ones are best in certain situations, for example, reflective ability. Use that to attack shock towers, also good when Swoop decides to attack because the damage is reflected back at him.

Slipstreams ability works well with long range flyers or Brawl. Things go boom!

Razorclaw and Bludgeon are especially good at smashing through walls. Which is why walls should be upgraded.

Walls are there to slow attackers down. Those few seconds they're stalled can mean your other defenses doing enough damage to take them out entirely. Same goes for mines, keep those upgraded as well.

Basically, keep everything upgraded. A good trick I do, I have five builder bots. Given I'm now at the point where upgrades take 5 days (and come Monday they'll take 7), I do one upgrade a day so I farm and spend regularly. But I only upgrade 4 things, I leave that fifth builder bot for walls.

Each build you can only get through purchase, 2000 coin each time (the price doesn't raise, fortunately).

Or buy a build bot bundle.

They are never given as rewards or pop out of the space bridge. I suppose that'a because they have no in game value, like bits do (boys convert to spark, energon, and shardshe if you already have that one)

Line Lite is fine, just can't make calls with it (like that's necessary, we don't call each other)

You have to create a Line ID in addition to your userID (I don't get why either). Then you can search for users/chats/what have you by LineID. Mine is ctrlfrequency, XxM3G4TR0NUSxX (all the vowels except U are numbers), Tyrannacon, bdizz, King Kuuga, or AZ.

Or post your ID and we can find you

We can add you to the chats once you're found.

New Characters

These two are primed for aquatic combat. Seaspray and Octopunch are making their way through the Space Bridge this weekend!

Seaspray
In many ways, Seaspray found his spiritual home on planet Earth, or rather, its oceans.

With no comparable medium on Cybertron, he broke new ground - relishing the newfound freedom of movement and sheer expanse of his territory.

Though well equipped for naval combat, Seaspray's hovercraft mode is vulnerable to enemy fire, and one direct hit would send him to the bottom of the ocean - forever.

Whirlwind
Summon a devastating tornado that moves to target location dealing damage every second. Stuns and interrupts defenses.

Octopunch
Built for sub-aquatic combat, Octopunch has a passive-aggressive approach to battle.

In other words, he's prone to play a waiting game, drifting serenely and non threateningly before striking with the speed of a manta ray, punching holes in the hull of any passing vessel.

Anything he can sink is fair game, and Octopunch loves nothing more than to pick over his personal wrecks, salvaging what he can.

I so called them both looking like that HftD Seaspray mold, albeit with some new touches like Ratchet.

When I finally actually download this dang game. :-P Besides, not sure how much fun I'd be considering I wouldn't play it every day most likely

If it's water themed then why not Gnaw? Especially because he is getting a toy soon.

It's a four week story line about Sharkticons. This is the second week.
