Some more Transformers Generations Combiner Wars news, this time for Australian fans, thanks to a tip from Seibertron.com board admin Burn. According to OZformers admin griffin, who has been digging for information with retailers, the new lines will be hitting in February at the earliest. Read more below!

With the recent release of RID toys in America and Europe, plus the expected release of Generations toys and the Year of the Goat toys by the end of the month, I asked the local branch if or when these toys will be released in Australia.

As usual, a big thanks to them for these details....

Generations - the major retailers are likely to start stocking them Feb/March, and if we/they are lucky, minor retailers (like ToysRUs) might be convinced to take stock before then.

Robots in Disguise - the toyline will be released here in March to go with the screening of the cartoon starting in March (probably on payTV like last time).
Apparently, the US are officially launching their RID line in January because that's when the cartoon starts on Cartoon Network there... so these pre-Christmas toys are probably just an American retailer making the most of the bigger toy sale period.

Year of the Goat - both Optimus and Soundwave should be here in decent quantities, but most likely held until June for the mid-year toy sales.

Nice to know that they will be coming down under, but I'll stick with BBTS. Just paid for 2 voyager and 1 legend + shipping and it was (after currency conversion) a few dollars cheaper than 2 voyagers at retail. Paying a little less to import and getting them 2 months sooner is preferred!

Powerglide is on pre-order again and listed as January even though they have sets of 4 in stock. As one who missed out on an individual PG initially it looks like BBTS will make me wait for him :-x Seems to be the same for Silverbolt, so Robogeek would still have to wait a while...

@Robogeek: Why did you cancel?

It's tight, but the whole thing does turn. Worked it out when I was trying to figure out why TG wasn't fitting into alt mode properly.

The RtS/United Windcharger is a great little figure, but I do appreciate the more accurate chest on the new Legends version, along with a slightly more G1-accurate color layout (all red arms, gray torso, etc.).

And more true to the original alt mode. Much like how it was a bummer to me that the new Knight Rider Kitt was a Mustang, I didn't really like Windcharger being a Mustang either. This Legends mold feels much better...

Nope, the deluxes come with collector cards now (like all other size clases) instead. Also, Hong Kong ships the very same hasbro product package with a choking warning sticker in the back of it's boxes.

Really? The RTS mold is so amazing! Articulation wise, transformation wise... he even has the flip out hand guns.

Outside of the color scheme, it's hard for me to see Legends Windcharger as better... but that's all in the eyes of the beholder, I guess.

Deco and G1-accuracy aside, the RTS mold is far superior. The legends mold, for starters, has some annoying limitations to its arm articulation, thanks to some poor engineering in the shoulders and elbows.

Not sure if it has already been mentioned in amongst the UK Smyths Toys elation but Toys R Us UK have their preorders listings up for the first waves of Combined Wars, no stocks yet, priced at £22.99 for both the Voyagers and £15.99 for the Deluxes.

The missus just gave me £30 worth of Amazon vouchers but wondering if I should wait a while...? :-?

Oh, I quite agree with you. I was just speaking of the alt mode, of which I absolutely adore on the Legends figure. If I won a lottery, I'd love to turn a modern Camaro into a Firebird looking car much like that alt mode.

I haven't decided which will remain in my Classics display for Windcharger...

Nowhere, that's the problem.

Now, this may be a hunch, but I think there may have been some miscommunication between Hasbro departments, resulting in only international cards and boxes being printed and none of the regular English-only US ones with the comics. Another hunch is that production of stock meant for the US is delayed for whatever reason.

We'll have to wait and see when wave 2 hits. :-?

We werent, they were just never shown at any part of any promotion linked to the toy release. They showed us the items in package and what they came with and we were never shown comics. So their lack of inclusion didnt surprise me. I think it's because this time Combiner Wars is an actual comic event that has yet to come out. But it could also be for cost reasons.

Or for language reasons. Hasbro has to make a different kind of packaging for certain parts of Canada that dont allow english only material. I do not think its the only place to require this kind of packaging since I see a lot of MISC generations figures online that also use the same kind of packaging.

Image

By taking away the comics, they can standardize their packaging better which also reduces costs.

Just to clarify, the comics are not just available in the US. That is the edition Hong Kong used to distribute as well.

Not only are Transformers Generations Combiner Wars Voyager figures showing up at UK retail, it appears that the same chain - Smyths - is also starting to stock the Deluxe toys too. The images below come from fellow Seibertron.com user Primacron's Little Helper, and the comments are from the UK Sightings thread - make sure to flag up any sighting of these newcomers in the appropriate section and forums!

Update time. I've been in touch with the manager of the Cardiff store, they've had a delivery today and are expecting two tomorrow. He said they had Skydive and Fireflight. Assuming that all four deluxes are packaged together that must mean that they are on the pegs (didn't ask #-o ) and the others have sold out, I think. He's put aside those two for me and will put aside the others if they come in (long story but suffice to say, a favour is the least they owed us ;) ). So, I'll find out what's there Saturday morning when I go to pick stuff up. I'm telling you this because I don't believe for a second that this is the only Smyth's getting all these deliveries so, without wanting to give false hope, it may be worth staying in touch with your local store if you want CW for Christmas.

I've just got back from Smyths and they had all 4 deluxes in stock, I grabbed the three Aerialbots, but passed on Drag Strip.

I got the last Skydive and Fireflight so might be worth getting them to put Slingshot and Dragstrip aside for you as well.

I agree, he is fantastic. That said, last night I dropped Windcharger from my PoL and cancelled my Powerglide pre-order and just went with the set of 4. PG will replace the Ultra version on my shelves, and how I feel about the CW line in general will determine if others get replaced as well.

I can understand that, only reason I stick with BBTS is their PoL system. Saves me heaps on shipping, and I've got to wait for it to build up, so doesn't change things if they are the last to get something.

See I was under the impression that the Combiner Wars comics and story were to be exclusive to the figures, hence an incentive to buy all the toys.

Nope. They've been hinting at the Combiner Wars thing for some time in the comic solicitations and both IDW and Hasbro are smart enough to not risk that kind of bad marketing maneuver. Forcing your loyal fan-base into making a move which they may not be willing or able to make just to keep up with your promised end product is nothing but a fast track to creating resentment, out right hatred and loss of customers.
Ok, let me re-phrase that: IDW is smart enough to not make that kind of d*** move. Hasbro could care less and would pull it anyway but it's not Hasbros' call this time around so we don't have to put up with that dilemma just yet.

So I've been spending some quality time with the limb bots and have to say they're really solid figures on their own. If you never own a torso for them it's not a loss. My one complaint is that there isn't real storage for the feet/fists in robot mode, at least with the Airialbots.

I'm calling it now, SDCC 2015 exclusive sets, G2 Airialbots and G2 Stunticons.

Anyobody think that Takara will just release these in gift sets with all five figures? How about packaging the Legends partner with the "Missing" member of the team.

If Takara goes crazy we might see something cool like some of the cars and Motormaster repainted into Land Bison.

Ok my thoughts on the new CW rumours, because I'm bored and I feel like it:

Defensor/Protectobots
Hot-Spot - New mould, with remould potential
Streetwise - Stunticon repaint, possibly Deadend?
Blades - Alpha Brave retool, no missiles on arms, landing skids instead?
First-Aid - New mould
Rook - retool of Off-road as a swat van?
Groove - Legens sized bike, probably becomes weapon but would be really funny if he became a headmaster for Defensor

"Other" Autobots
Going under the assumption these guys are combined.
Mirage - Dragstrip redeco, it's almost a given.
Ironhide - repaint/retool of First Aid. This means we'll probably get a Ratchet too in 2016, though probably an exclusive.
Sunstreaker - I'd like a new mould, but will probably be Breakdown redeco'd. Chance of a Sideswipe repaint in 2016.
Prowl - could be a few things. Streetwise redeco, or Rook if he is a Swat Van. Not likely, but would be awesome - new mould and head for the rumoured Devastator.

Future combiners?

Will probably see Bruticus in 2016

Onslaught - Retool of Hotspot?
Vortex - Alpha Bravo repaint. Maybe new feet/cockpit of Helicopter
Blast-Off - Alpha Bravo's legs, new upper body.
Swindle - Retool of Off-road
Brawl - Hopefully a new Tank mould, and not a retool of Rook (again, if he's a Swat van, could be turned into an APC).

All of the above is almost pure speculation, so don't take any as fact, just me bored on a day off.

CW Superion using TFC Toys Uranos hands and feet. I wonder if they are compatible or just a mod? :???:

Even more odd is seeing the helicopter mode in all red with a white accent. This does not confirm Blades to be a repaint of Alpha Bravo IMO. Possibly based on Universe 2003 Ro-Tor, the helicopter member of Micromaster Superion:
