The Hoist remold/repaint is great!

'Course he does.

It is now!
We had seen the Clayton Crain artwork, and I believe at Toy Fair it was said that all the Spotlights would get their toy. But I'm not sure.
Trailcutter actually has the forcefield face!

And he is FLIPPIN' GORGEOUS!
So glad I picked up Fall of Cybertron Starscream. Thundercracker would look fantastic next to Starscream. I really hope Hasbro decides to pump out Skywarp in the near future to complete the set.

I keep saying these two things over and over:
1) As IDW repurposed FoC designs as G1 Cybertronian form, what we have here is G1 Cybertronian Thundercracker.
2) Nobody is stopping you from repurposing.

That I agree with. I don't know what I would do with Orion and Bumblebee though...

I plan to pick up Orion, but not Bumblebee. Even though the mold looks boss, it would seem repetitive of me if I were to get this one, as I already have the original Classics toy. But mark my words, if there is to be a redeco/retool into someone else (Bugbite, perhaps?), then I would be happy to pick it up.

Forcefield face is also for the win. That was a great comic.

Wouldn't it be awesome if we got one where you could alternate modes with the chest over the face — shifts from chest to blast shield like the old War Within appearance?
Gads, I lurved the War Within.

This entire set of toys are all great. Though I might skip on Bumblebee, considering how that mold looks awkward, and it would fit Trailbreaker better.

The logic in this is beyond me.

I think some were confused by the fact that it was previewed first in the Collectors' Club magazine even though it was clearly advertised as a 'Generations' figure not an upcoming 'Exclusive' figure or anything.
It will be a retail release and there has been no indication from Hasbro or the Club up to this point to indicate otherwise.

xyl360 wrote:I hate how Trailcutter/Hoist has a HUGE barrel chest/upper body and a teeny tiny waist. It reminds me of FoC Jazz. I'll likely still snag Takara's versions of these bots, but I suspect I'll be displaying them in alt mode for the same reason I keep FoC Jazz and Sideswipe in their alt modes (the bot modes look kinda crappy).
I suspect similar treatment to Orion Pax and Megatron/Dreadwing.
To be fair though, Trailbreaker and Host don't look that slim around the waist. This would be considered super thin (if they decide to make a another toy out of him).

Man this year is going to suck financially but its going to be awesome transformally.
Finally hasbro is doing what the fans want. I was out of the loop with transformers since energon and only a few months ago i started to get back into it. very glad and lucky and came back when i did. must be the PERFECT time..
TOO many things are happening in the transformers culture right now! but it's just so.... great.

Ehh, maybe. I prefer a Bugbite redeco, though.

Yes he does. These are IDW toys, and Spotlight: Thundercracker had him in this body:GuyIncognito wrote:I like the Thundercracker repaint of FoC Starscream, but he should have been released as a FoC figure; he doesn't fit in with this group.
Yes - http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/ ... ker/26761/Sodan-1 wrote:What the hell?! I know it seemed obvious, but had it even been confirmed that we were getting Thundercracker?
Why not just use him for what he is: "Grown up Bumblebee"? People buy Hot Rod and Rodimus Prime toys. This is the same concept minus the Matrix power boost and minus any name change.Mindmaster wrote:JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:GuyIncognito wrote:The Hoist remold/repaint is great!

Orion Pax looks like he could be remolded into a nice Gears although I already ordered a iGear version so I'm not too bummed in we don't get a Generations Gears. Like a lot of people I really want a Tailcutter = Skids but have the bad feeling we'll have to wait a few years for Botcon to do it.
Thinking of remolds, does anyone think Generations Kickback could be remolded into a decent Waspinator?

And all the "Thrilling 30" figures come packaged with their Spotlights, and most of the figures match up to the in-comic designs.

I've been wanting this since I saw we were getting a Kickback figure.
Defiantly need to pick up Hoist. Debating whether I want Megatron or Dreadwind...(I'm secretly hoping we could get a Banzai-tron repaint from that mold...)

My idea for waspinator was prime arcee... Tho if he should be a vehicle he should be a Vespa...
Of these... Trailbreaker and hoist are defo must haves . The rest unless the whole set is available at a decent price, I might skip. Orion pax interests me but his vehicle mould is too earth like... The should've remove the wheels to make him a hover truck or something.
Bumblebee looks ok... But well I have classics bee...
Megatron looks interesting too as a toy. However I don't have a feel for his being megs. Too puny. I will be interested in the repaints.
Thundercracker... I have just foc grimlock and jazz... Wasn't too impressed with the quality or the price to size... So a likely skip...

craggy wrote:Megatron is pretty good. Shame he's not a Voyager.
I wish Hasbro/Takara would just stop messing about with the scale of obvious figure which need to be BIG!
This new Megatron should be realeased in Voyager scale first off so he scales well (kinda) with the rest of the Deluxe releases!
Hasbro/Takara then leave fans with the quandary, buy the Deluxe in fear of missing out and with no Voyager being produced 6 months/1 year down the line; Wait in hope for a Voyager, hoping and praying to Primus for its release?
Trailbreaker(cutter?) and Hoist are a must buy!
Mindmaster wrote:I suspect similar treatment to Orion Pax and Megatron/Dreadwing.
Have there ever been any mold that Hasbro/Takare havent been repainted/retooled?
This not only reminds me of the Alternators Grimlock Mustang, but could this mold be easily repainted in red as Windcharger?
The Orion Pax figure is looking ok but when this mold gets repainted/retooled will that turn out to be the mold that needs picking up, an iconic Classic rather than Pax, who would have to sit on the side of any display shelf...?

Let's see:
DOTM deluxe,
Masterpiece ver.2
Generations
And now this.
And not one of those times have they finished what they started and given a state-side Skywarp! The only one I've been able to lay my hands on was the ROTF repaint of the 2007 Starscream, and that was pretty awful quality.
Darnit we want our set of seekers!

Waspinator as a scooter? Seriously?
If Waspinator is to take on any form of machinery, it's gunna have to be flight-capable. Waspinator without flight is like Starscream without his trademark treachery (nobody had better not dare bring up Energon).

I'm pretty sure frogbat was referring to the fact that 'vespa' means in 'wasp' in Italian.

Well, Prime Starscream seems to have learned his lesson and matured out of his childish treachery to Megatron. Recall how in both "Darkest Hour" and "Rebellion" when he Megatron lying on the ground injured in both episodes, he demanded that Megatron be helped up and tended to rather than opting to leave the downed Megatron where he was at the mercy of his own injuries.Mindmaster wrote:If Waspinator is to take on any form of machinery, it's gunna have to be flight-capable. That said, I'd love to see the character finally released.
That said, there are a SCAD of primes who have never seen the light of day. Why doesn't Prime do a great set of those? Make a story/comic/series/cartoon around those... kinda like dealing with those four "new" Superman dudes. You get people wanting to complete all the Primes, and you've released a lot of critically important leader characters. It's a win win. We get a lot of unexplored obscure guys, and they get a load of must-buy, often larger figures... mostly good Autobots.
That said, there are some great baddies in the UK comics, etc. that I'd love to see.
But I digress.

To be fair though, if my leader somehow returned from the dead and continually gave me an ass-whupping, I wouldn't leave him to die and incur his wrath should he return.
