The trick with Amazon is having Amazon Prime. Free 2 day shipping makes these $11.99 a piece shipped. Not bad!

I wouldn't worry about the price gouging going on with Springer and Blitzwing. The way we're getting carpet bombed with them here in Michigan, I'm sure they'll be seeing mass release. (We're never that lucky here in the Wolverine state.)

I just popped over to Amazon for Prime and Bumblebee, but they also have the next Deluve Wave of Beast Hunters and I also picked up Skystalker for the free shipping. I know the prices are a little higher but do not have to worry about shipping or sales tax here in Illinois yet. The bonus is that I have an Amazon credit card that pays triple points on Amazon purchases. I bought a Mac Book Pro a month and a half ago (paid off sum immediately for the points)...that gave me enough points to pick up all 3 of these figures for $3.07 shipped . I'll take it!!
I tell ya, if you're willing to look and hustle there are some great deals out there. Ebates gives you cash back on Amazon now in the toy section, add in the cash back from pay pal and that covers the tax right there. I had a $5 Amazon gift card laying around from Swagbucks and I paid under $10 each.

Grant Bosse: Internet sales tax protects Amazon from the next Amazon
Some of those businesses are eager to face those higher costs. Online giant Amazon.com is pushing for the internet sales tax. It can track state and local tax codes and automatically charge the current tax rate based on the delivery ZIP code. But smaller companies looking to challenge Amazon’s hegemony would have a hard time complying. Higher taxes and complicated bureaucracy isn’t a threat to Amazon, but it might keep the next threat to Amazon from starting up.
At National Review, Kevin Williamson writes about the distinction between being for big business and being for free enterprise. Big business loves big government. It’s smaller, nimbler businesses they fear. Forcing a cumbersome sales tax bureaucracy on their would-be rivals puts them at a huge competitive advantage.

I know in Pennsylvania at least, before amazon started to, you were supposed to keep track of your own online transactions and pay the appropriate taxes. So I still don't see how amazon can be blamed for anything.

You're blaming Amazon for not letting you get away with avoiding sales tax, and then saying you'd rather go to a store and pay the sales tax you're upset about Amazon charging.

GuyIncognito wrote:Alex, you do realize that they only plan to charge you the same sales tax you would pay at retail in your state (and which you are legally required to pay)? So how is it better to "wait until retail"? It'll take longer, you'll pay the same price, and you run the risk of not being able to find what you want. Or you can order now, pay the same price, and not worry about finding it later. It sounds like you're cutting off your nose to spite your face.

I don't know anyone that wants to pay additional (sales tax) on top of a purchase plus shipping. I am just being a resourceful consumer and looking at better options than Amazon for my purchases, like eBay where private sellers can sell me an item at less than what Amazon is offering. My main draw for going to Amazon in the past was no tax and sometimes free shipping. With that gone I am looking at other options to save money even if takes me longer to get a certain item. Currently, my purchase for TF come from eBay where I can get really great deals, and for the time being no tax.

Millions of people do it every day. We pay for the convenience and the certainty of getting what we want without having to use our time and gas driving to stores.
Plus, I never pay shipping at Amazon.
It sounds to me like you're acting emotionally, not rationally.

Everybody pays taxes, it's how the world works. I'm not saying the government should be making unreasonable tax laws, but it's important that governmental structures have the money to run. As for the case at hand, it was really just a matter of time (see: politics catching up to how the world works takes a LONG time). Having to pay sales tax is normal for everything, it just took them awhile to catch up with the internet, I suppose.

That's a question not easily answered. Let's leave aside anyone else and just focus on ourselves as individuals. Don't you think it's a good idea to be as good a citizen as you can?

I think those of you debating about paying taxes are missing the point. It's not really about paying taxes or not paying taxes, it's just about getting the best deal for you personally. I'm an Amazon Prime subscriber so I get free shipping. Getting these now means I don't have to hunt for them or pay additional shipping through other online retailers so $16.99 isn't that bad. For those of you who are looking for a cheaper price that's fine also.

I appreciate the question. I am good citizen (or good human being) because I don't force or initiate force on other individuals (nor do I advocate) against their rights (right to life and right to their property). That to me is a good idea/framework for life in this world.

Not the toys, as their small size does not appeal to me and Bumblebee looks like he has ears. But, never the less, I might consider either one if TOMY ever does decide to make a larger version of them.

Though, not "Legends" as in what we've had since the Cybertron line (that's now known as "Legion class"). This is a new "Legends" class that's taller than Legion but shorter than Commander.

Whatever, it's still I think it's the best looking small prime.

yes I have. That is what I meant, mine just won't go any farther. It even shows in the instructions that the nose cone is supposed to tuck away more.
I have a couple of pictures for you of what I think you are trying to do. Have you had any luck yet? The cannon takes some force to put into the correct position.
Yes, that is exactly what I was trying to do. It wasn't the cannon that was the problem, it was the nose cone not folding down all the way. I shaved off some rubber from the nose cone where it was hitting and it works fine now.

In all fairness, I think the lack of the head turning is the only articulation point that Bumblebee is missing.
I'd love to see someone come up with some instructions on how to cut off the head and modify the toy so Bumblebee's head could turn.

I wouldn't mind seeing a video of bee getting decapitated..... Again and again and again

While that may be true, OP has ball joint knees and elbows, which replace thigh/bicep swivels.
Upgrading the neck shouldn't be hard but I don't want the figure so I won't be doing it!

Just a quick question: are their hands 5mm ports? If so, does that mean that their Targetmasters' weapon modes/other weapons are backwards-compatible with other figures? That'll be the deciding factor in getting more after Bumblebee.

Their weapons seem to have 5 mm pegs. When I tried putting them in the hands of some Classics and Beast Hunters, they fit fine, although the fit was a little loose.
I also tried putting some 5 mm weapons from other figures into Legends OP and BB's hands/ports, and they all fit fine.

Now I feel more inclined to pick Optimus up, only for the sake of Roller.
