Many Transformers fans have been anticipating the announcement of a Hot Shot retool/redeco of Transformers Generations - War for Cybertron: Siege Deluxe Class Hound, ever since Hound's box art was revealed, depicting the G1 Autobot with a very non-G1 head sculpt, one that very closely matched that of Transformers: Cybertron "Cybertron Defense" Hot Shot. Well, the wait is over! This retool/redeco has apparently become a reality! Killtok of reddit apparently got the hookup from a friend in Asia. Thank you to Puhonix, Mega.Prime123, and Sabrblade of the Seibertron.com forums for bring this reveal to our attention! The reddit user doesn't have any other information on this Transformers Siege Hot Shot figure at this time, other than alleging that it is an "official Hasbro product." We will have to wait and see if Hasbro and/or Takara Tomy make an official announcement in the near future, now that the proverbial cat is out of the bag. For now, enjoy the pictures "Killtok" has posted to reddit and his imgur account below, which include several shots of "Cybertron Defense" Hot Shot in robot mode and alt mode, along with a robot mode side-by-side comparison with War for Cybertron: Siege Deluxe Class Hound.

I wil be painting that roofline... Black was my first instinct but a red wouldn’t be bad. But otherwise I am glad to see this becoming a thing officially.

I’m not convinced on this Cell Shading, that even though it looks great in staged pictures that its going to look as good, in hand, in person, in many different poses. I fear that this is one of those like a 3D Art drawing that when you move away it loses the effect.

But for those of you waiting for this, I hope I am very wrong

Would've been nice to see some new weapons as well. This is one time I will be getting the eventual weapon upgrade set. It looks good as CD Hot Shot even without the dual guns/missile pods though.

You know, I don't think I'm really happy with these "cel-shaded" versions of Siege Optimus Prime and Megatron. They look more like they've got weird two-tone camouflage than dynamic lighting and shadowing. I might still get these either to keep in package or display separately, but they're almost certainly NOT going to replace the regular Wave 1 versions of Optimus Prime and Megatron with the battle damage in my main Transformers display shelves. I just want cartoon accurate paint apps without the battle damage, Hasbro!

Cybertron defense hotshot was one of the best figures in the Cybertron line. Also it's now obvious the rifle is done up to look like one of the shoulder canons.

I feel the opposite. I think that cell shaded look is the ONLY reason I'd buy those figures. If all Siege figures were painted like that I might like more of the line (so wish Springer had that style). It looks so much like the graphic style of Transformers: Devastation which is easily the best G1 has ever looked in my opinion. They just look really cool even though I don't care for the molds themselves.

As for Hot Shot. That looks bloody awful. Fine if it was an amateurs repaint of Hound using a head from a previous Hot Shot figure but as an official product Hasbro want money for? Come on.... The cybertron toy had a nice look to it in both modes. This is just boring blocky Hound in funkier colours.

Passing on hotshot, another case of a figure already existing that is better than the siege one.

Cellshaded megatron looks better than randomly applied dirt on chest standard version. It would have been interesting if Sieges thing was all figures cellshaded instead of the battledamage but until seeing megs and optimus in hand (which means I'll have to order them) if the cell shading works or not.

Kind of weird but cool for ID to plug a rival toystore and still no news on who has soundblaster in the UK as yet.

I actually like that Hot Shot is no longer "proto Sports Car Bumblebee", increases the chances of being able to see him again some day in media without him being more of a Bumblebee clone, same with adapting shades of blue as his primary color.

I mean were not going to get reissues of the original toys which don't really fit with the engineering in this day and age so homages like this is the next best thing.

I also really like repaints and remolds these days, just makes sense since their robots why would every single person have their own 100 percent unique look? Body templates and such is fascinating to me because of the writing possibilities that can come up with it.

I have mixed feelings about this hot shot. At one side, i think this mold does work, and this does look badass. But at the same time, he doesn't feel as battle ready and as armed as the original version.

Haven’t been called “Mega.Prime123” in a long time. Guess I ought to update my email handle.

I like the mold, I like the character. I don’t like this. This feels forced, like Armada Megatron from Combiner Wars Megatron.

I feel the same. There was a discussion a little while ago about good redecos vs redecos done just for the sake and this falls into that category. Still, from the look of people who were excited by digibashes, I guess some are happy its coming out.

I am wondering now if it will be released alone or with the other two power dashers.

I like the new Cybertron defense hotshot, in WFC, but why not include more weapons? He was one of the best figures in the Cybertron line...and this means we will get more Cybertron line figures into the future of this line too?

Hot Shot looks like a good use of the mold, and I prefer it over the look of Hound, so he'll be my first foray into this mold.

Man, Hot Shot was totally a Hot Rod clone, not Bumblebee. Just look at his Armada Powerlinx redeco and the design of his first Cybertron form. His personality was lifted from Hot Rod (and Cheetor) too. ;)

Was actually going to mention him being "Bumblebee with Hot Rod's personality" but I thought that was being too rude, that and people probably compare Hot Shot to Bumblebee more despite his name lol.

Pretty sure Optimus calls him Bumblebee at one point in Armada but plenty of wrong names mentioned in that show.

blackeyedprime wrote:Pretty sure Optimus calls him Bumblebee at one point in Armada but plenty of wrong names mentioned in that show.
The name "Bumblebee" was unusable at the time of Armada, so I sincerely doubt that the show's dubbers (as incompetent as they were with keeping track of everyone's names) would have used a name that wasn't even available for them to use.

Hot Shot was, however, called "Hot Rod" once by Alexis, but this was just one of many erroneous one-off instances of a character's Japanese name being used in the dub (Swindle was once called "Grid", Jet Optimus was originally called "Jet Convoy", Overload was once called "Ultra Magnus", etc.).

I don't mind this Hot Shot. I'm not going to pick him, because with the Seacons coming earlier than expected I can't risk being blindsided by the next round of pre-orders. I know I don't need to have the money when I put in the pre-order, but that's my preference. Regardless, if I see him for cheap I think he'd make a good fit for the Wreckers.

I hope itvis mainline, this almost feels too ranfom and niche for Selects. It dpens thave the same draw as RedWing (most wanted Botcon... Okay maybe not) or G2 Megs.

I think for me what I like aboutvthis over the Cyberyron CD hot Shot us that unlike the Galazy Upgrade Prime this is not trying to be that toy. Same character concept but a very different toy experience whereas GalaxyUpgrade Prime still tried to walk and talk like his old toy.

Thanks to In Demand Toys on Facebook we have brand new stock images of Autobot Impactor, Holo-Mirage, Powerdasher Aragon, Crosshairs, Decepticon Impactor, Astrotrain, Barricade, and Spinister! We've seen these figures several times over the last few weeks but not in this quality. Here you get great close ups of Astrotrain's base mode ramps with the connector pegs that has some fans worried about compatibility with Omega and the other Titans Return bases. Also see a great profile shot of Spinister showing just how those legs work in vehicle mode. We should be seeing these figures on the shelfs and pegs over the next few months. As always enjoy the view and share your thoughts with the Seibertron crew in the forums. And stay tuned to Seibertron for the ultimate in Transformers news!

Eureka!!! After constant checking of both Brickseek, and Target.com, I finally found a local store that listed "limited availability" this morning, and drove the 10 miles out of my way before work to snatch it, only to be told by an employee who didn't look like she cared that they didn't have it in stock. I left empty-handed, but my gut was telling me to call the store on my lunch break. They checked then and said they had ONE in stock, and put it on hold for me to pick up after work. I rushed out immediately after work, bought it, and got my prize home. The one bright spot to an otherwise crappy day. oh yeah, the $40 off coupon made it that much more worth it.

I still have my original Cybertron Defense Hot Shot. Despite the turret needing some TLC (clothes got stuck on it during its time in storage and left some weird residue) I think I'm good with it. Hasbro deserves brownie point for not defaulting to the original kiddie-appeal/Bumblebee clone iteration of Armada (yet another sports car? No thank you).

While Cloud Roadbuster makes a decent Crosshairs (much better as far as vehicle mode goes) it's pretty damn expensive for a D-tier character like crosshairs.

I dont remember whT I paid but I lucked into a better price. Crosshairs has been an A-Llister for my personal Canon for a while now, after I decided to craft a crew of Generations Autobots from the Movie castings. So the price was worth it for me. But I agree, if you are just looki g to fill out a dlot in the collection, totally not worth it

Soo, this is something I didnt know I was gonna get to do. The custom Siege Smashdown I bought from Grimlock's Forge came today abd he packaged it in its original little blister, so I get to do an Unboxing! Whoo!
20190810_005706.jpg

Mjolner Smashdown (thinking of calling him Boltstrike) lools fantastic. He really did a great job with the chrome. This is my first experience with Smashdown as I have yet to see him in stores but this os everything I wanted from a Hammer Guy.

20190810_005816.jpg

Grimlock's Forge included two add ons for this figure. The first is a Resin Cast Copy of Smashdown's effect in Lightning Blue. Its a very stiff casting, more hard plastic than the original soft rubber, but it fits very well in the peg hole. (I picked up another Effect from hom copied from Jetfire and it was almost too tight)

20190810_005724.jpg

the other included new part is a new handle tip. With a hole in it to add a strap. It pegs into the bottom and can be taken off to put into bots with closed fists or like Magnus whos Forearm gauntlets prevent anythibg from passing through his hand.

First off, Hot Shot looks great, I'll absolutely be grabbing him. Glad to see he looks distinct enough from Hound that I'll willingly get both, and he'll go great with Leader Prime.

...wait, now retail/Autobot Impactor doesn't even get his helmet crest painted?! Wow, it's almost like Hasbro is determined to make me buy the Amazon 3-pack instead of retail Impactor by making the retail one vastly inferior to the exclusive version. Well, it's working, I guess I have to get it now. At least that means I can use Aragon's parts to give Hot Shot his back turret/shoulder guns.

Spinister and Astrotrain still look flawless though, and while I fell solidly on the negative side of the Barricade debate when he was first revealed, he has grown on me significantly since then, so I'm actually excited for him now. I think it was because I heard someone say the figure reminded them of his design from WfC the game, that's a win for me.

bacem wrote:so, what does astrotrain's launchpad/train cart parts serve in robot mode? because i do not see it being incorporated on the pictures there.

It doesn't combine or merge with the robot mode in any way, but it works as a storage crate for his weaponry.

Actually I think the original listing said that the extra stuff can combine into a weapon platform of some description. But if that's not a thing any more just have him posed on the launch pad, or combine it with one of the base modes from Titans Returns or the city bots ;)

Keep in mind, these promo pics often end up being somewhat inaccurate to the final paint job (see Studio Series Leader Optimus' ab piece, which flipped back and forth between unpainted red and red painted with silver in different appearances; specifically, in its "black background" shots it was unpainted red, but the final toy we've seen from in-hand shots had the silver paint). I would be surprised if the final toy didn't have the crest painted.

They are distinct so that you have to buy both ;)
