this got to be made fan made ..... if they (movie designers and m.b ) dont respect optimus, megatron or starscream designs what make us belive they are going to respect Thundercracker design .... it got to be fan made

You shouldn't mix something like a 100% G1 colour scheme on a 100% Bay-former design. It just doesn't work.

The chances of a fan kitbash are slim. I think the chances are better that Hasbro is making money off of re-paints.

Bouncy X wrote:this must be fan made because if not......how rude to give him proper colors but not starscream..lol
Disagree. Starscream is colored the way he is in order to look like he does in the movie. Thundercracker doesn't have those restrictions. Hence, blue.
And really, after all the Starscreams that have been pumped out non-stop since Armada? I'm glad Movie Starscream has different colors. I can even live with the head. Starscream's been done to death, and I never liked him that much to begin with. So all the "more thjan just a name" people can lick me. If it's such a big deal, why am I not seeing these sigs for Ratchet, Bonecrusher, etc.?
Ahem...
Now that that's off my chest...
It looks like Movie TC is a nice, darkish blue, which I'm glad to see... Still not sure how I feel about the head. Looks kinda orc-like, which to me says "dumb grunt", which I guess works if this is a movie-verse version of Cybertron Thundercracker. The real thing that makes it feel odd to me, though, is it looks kinda like halfway between normal and movie-style, in a way that it doesn't really fit in much with anything. Still, a new head sculpt at all is worth applauding, and I'll probably pick this up.
Ultra Markus wrote:so they give him a somewhat recognizable head and face but not starscream WTF!
Again, because STARSCREAM'S BEEN DONE TO DEATH. He always looks the same. Nobody's whining about Bumblebee or Ironhide... So why is Starscream such a big deal?

I was never a fan of the light beige color scheme Starscream had going on. I think Black and purple would look good also. (as in skywarp) so he ain't sleek) they are alien machines, who said they had to be sleek?

Im with you, i have no reason Hasbro wouldnt make a repaint (even a good one) if they felt they could make a few more bucks

I agree. There was something posted awhile back about the movie designs being so different because Hasbro was keeping all the G1-ish deisgns close to the vest...that they wanted the bots in the movies to look different enough from 'normal' TF's so Paramount couldn't come back one day and ask for shared profit on anything down the road like the Heroes or Titaniums lines. And Hasbro was very adamant in keeping the rights to the old desgins, so they would be able to use them down the road.
I think this Thundercracker is legit, and Hasbro is throwing a (small) bone to the fans. Looks a ton better, in my opinion.

Nemesis Primal, I'm with you on the 'Yay! Starscream *doesn't* look like the Sunbow animation model' bit, although I stop short of inviting those who disagree to lick me. They can just lick you twice if they're that bothered.

Not caring for such a huge break from traditional aesthetics for a character you never liked much to begin with kind of excludes one from getting it, no?

I'm whining about Ironhide...
Why no love for Ironhide?
*ahem*
Seriously though, this is an ok repaint. I'm still not a great fan of the Movie Starscream mould, but the Head and paint job on TC do help to make it look better.
I'll see if it looks good enough in the shops, then decide.

Point is, though... It seems to be ALL STARSCREAM. Why? Why is nobody getting all worked up over Bumblebee like that? Over Ratchet? Over Bonecrusher? My bafflement over the Starscream fandom is a separate issue... I just want to know, why is he so much more important than anyone else?
Kudos to Krump for whining about Ironhide, though... The face on that thing makes my head hurt in a very Escher-meets-Lovecraft way. Looking at the pictures, I just completely fail to be able to visualize it in three dimensions.

It just looks like a black lump!
I guess Starscream is the worst treated of the transformers in the movie. Compare his head, his body to the others. Prime's modes are ok, Ironhide's are fine (part from that ruddy head- cowboy too far I think!), Ratchet's is meh, Blackout and Barricade (and Brawl!) look pretty decent.
Bumblebee is fine. He kinda reminds me of Sunstreaker with a big head.
The only other one so poorly treated is Megatron!
And realising that Megatron is so messed up that there is no salvation, people turn their attentions to Starscream. A decent altmode, but a bot mode that is obvious it could have been better.
*sigh*
Here's hoping that the transformers adapt to be more humanoid in Transformers the Movie- 2...

Well, I'd say he gets face time as he's one of the "worst-ly" departed, and ugly if I may say so. There's nothing speaking the name Starscream in this movie incarnation, and I mean that in regards to the icon of Starscream rather than Cartoon Starscream of comic book Starscream or whatever. The face, the body design, the color, even the alternative mode (though that one's understandable given this day & age and that this was originally meant to be an update - though now they've "updated" themselves into a full blown departure unfortunately). Even by the movie design standards, this new Starscream is disappointing. It's like they crossed a beast-mode-less Beast Wars Waspinator with a monkey.Nemesis Primal wrote:Point is, though... Thing is, fans are up in arms about all characters in different ways, at different times, at different levels, in different places on & offline. There's been plenty of discussions/debates/arguments on Bumblebee, and Prime even, Megatron too. TFs like Screamers & the Bee get face time due to one being the self-righteous & vain hopeful leader of the Cons, the other being the main focused-on TF of the film, both being two legendary favorites in the fiction. Every Transformer in the film has had their moment in discussion. Depending on status in the fiction, usage in the film, and popularity in discussion at the time, one may get noticed over another.
