We thank fellow Seibertronian Flashwave for sending us word and proof that the Netflix Series Ultra Magnus Spoiler box has been found on clearance at Walmart. Now this is probably not the case for all or even most Walmarts but we wanted to let you know, just in case. For many, paying $60 for a toasted Magnus and a Rung redeco was not ideal, but clearance prices tend to change people's minds. And this clearance price is $35, which is almost half off.
This particular sighting comes from Plainfield, IN.
So, let us know, is $35 low enough for you to double dip?

The crisp white and blue color scheme looks beautiful in person.
And he comes with energon cubes.

It's possible that other collectors got them all first, but given his price and the underwhelming reaction to his deco, I'd be surprised.
And yes, at THAT price, I'm actually considering getting one now.

Netflix Ultra Magnus should be in regular TF aisle, the endcap has no space for him. Keep an eye out for the shelf tags labeled E9494 in the lower left corner.

Is the Siege one worth having? No Earthrise or later one in the pipeline?

The Netflix version is SO worth it. Even if you have the original siege. I mixed some of the old with the new.
Netflix Megatron is sexy too

Unless you are holding out for a true g1 trailer which can function (hold cars, open rear doors and lower access ramp) he's worth picking up.
The third party leg replacements solve the front cab mess and the height issues tho I still prefer the size of cw ultramagnus.I would have liked some flat surfaces on siege version so that he could have faction symbols where they should be but I've not been tempted to file anything down and damage the figure for them.

I wanted a second Ultra Magnus just to show off the small robot form, so I was able to do that with the NetFlix version. I like the little robot mode.
I do think they didn't need to waste the money on the Playdoh in the package though. Shouldn't just given us more energon cubes or Blast effects.
I really want to see them release a pack of blast effects, even if it's just part of the selects line.

I have to agree here... And then you got Scrapface who's absolutely stunning (if short packed) and Hotlink. I'll probably cave and open up the Netflix ones and compare to my originals. The paint work on all of them should be appreciated... but I also understand the frustration of "but we just got these". As for Netflix vs Earthrise... they *shouldn't* be competing for shelf space @ Walmart (we'll see how that shakes out though).
Also... it seems like both Siege and Earthrise have both gotten off into the weeds lately (forum wise).
Also... did we have much talk of the Japanese Exclusive Nemesis Prime repaint from Siege Optimus (trying to get things back on track)? I managed to snag him from TFSource. Was... surprised that he came in "regular" packaging.

The main issue people have with them is that most of them are barely-changed versions of figures that were just on the toy shelves a few months ago that are now taking up much of the space that could instead be taken by the all new figures from Earthrise, which for many are currently harder to find at Walmarts than the Netflix figures.G1OptimusPAX wrote:Yes the netflix version Megatron is SOOOO much better because of the paint and its so sweet... and honestly, I don't understand people's gripes about these redecos. I bought cliff jumper, wheel jack, hoist and iron works right from the inventory box at the Sametime on the same day at around 4pm. So what I'm saying is, I am glad we have all of these variations because if we didn't, there would be MAD collectors buying multiples of the same figure and sale them for high prices online... and I usually only order online for hard to track down figures and 3rd party. So thank GOD for these variations. They DEFINITELY work out for me.

Don't get me wrong, I know I'm in the minority here because even though I'm not buying the redecos, I like that they exist. It's just Megatron's being so much better than his standard release just because of a couple minor things that frustrates me a bit

I actually agree with the OP on this one. I'd much rather have had 2 more waves of new unique Earthrise, than a bunch of redecos of stuff already released, no matter how nice they are. Yes I did get a couple of them, but they were all new to me ( didn't purchase original siege versions), but again, I'd much rather have more new product.

I dont think any of that's related. You'll get these redecos and more earthrise figures. One isnt replacing the other. And its not like Walmart is behind on figures from other lines either.

Problem is, this wasn;t some fly by night plan, they have to support the show - so it makes sense they'd have something on shelves. I wish the "normal" line was used to support the show, but they caught lighting in a bottle and did what they did.
I got all the deluxes, but I've not opened any of them. I have them all already.I got Megatron, and gave the original to my son. And I agree with the guy who said no one says you gotta buy them. It's the company's job to sell toys, but it's our job to police what we buy, hard as that is sometimes.

At least they did some sort of repaint for the Netflix figures. Hasbro could have rereleased the very same figure, paint and all, with the Teletraan 1 pieces and there would have been plenty of people who would have bought them just for the piece of cardboard (he said as he looked in the mirror).sol magnus wrote:o.supreme wrote:cruizerdave wrote:I just don't care for any of this Netflix exclusive stuff. I think Hasbro did this just to avoid criticism of releasing a cartoon who's toyline had already ended a la Combiner Wars. Sure they did a pretty good job. But imagine if in the summer of 2016, the first wave of TR was extremely scarce, and the market was flooded with New CW repaints to promote the show.

If anything... the one Walmart I swear must have pissed of Hasbro (because they rarely have any product- even to the department managers frustration) actually got the Netflix stuff.

To be fair... if they'd been Superior or Menasor… that would have been very welcome... those Wave 1/2 combiners were scarce after that first year.

See i prefer the hunt, mixed with pre-order... somethings aren't worth the wait and arent worth taking chances or being cheap. It depends on the toy. I wanted ultra magnus netflix edition, so I bought it off of ebay for $74. Did I pay too much? Yes, but I have not seen him in ANY walmart and I bought him a month ago and I'm glad I made that choice... megatron on the other hand, I wasn't looking for him, but went to another Walmart far from my home and came across an isle netflix transformers display with all of the netflix TF toys and when i saw Megatron up close, I fell head over heels for this figure just the paint alone, but there were no ultra magnus at all. Not even a place or price tag for him. Everyone's experience and choices are all different, but no ones is better then the other.
Whatever gets the job done at the end of the day

It's defintiley still there as there is no way to secure the head in bot mode, but it has a great deal more friction so it doesn't just fall in when you breathe on it, but if nudged with enough fore or just during posing you will have to pull the head out

Actually I'd like to add that while I definitely agree with the friction, my neck issue had way more then friction on my netflix megatron. The neck Actually snaps into place. I thought they fixed that issue with these versions, but if yours is still semi-loose then I guess I was wrong, but mine is completely secure

I do have a question for those of you who got into the new IDW comics, starring some of the characters whose toys appear in Siege: how accurate are the toys to the comic representations?

I am really having a lot of fun with Astrotrian and I am so glad I finally found him. His size does not bother me at all really just because I have no personal connection to a set height for him. This tender is a great addition as well and I love all the guns. I can not wait to get more of the ER baseformers and create a huge city with my other bots.
I got lucky and scored a Singe for $14 on ebay so now my Spinister is complete! Not much to say since this is like my 6th or 7th time with the mold it feels like. Still happy to have him.

They're using the Leader price point that way because all-the-mass-is-one-robot Leaders largely don't work for the cast of '84-'86. And hey, it beats buying a Voyager and then spending an additional $60 to get the accessories from 3P kits.
And who knows, maybe they'll do Astrotrain in that color scheme as a Selects figure.
Word of advice: I do not recommend using strong nail polish remover to strip battle damage paint from the Rainmakers.
