Wave 4 is made up the highly anticipated new mold Airachnid, the Shadow Strike Bumblebee repaint, and the Wheeljack repaint/remold Dead End. Wave 5 features two all new molds, Decepticon Rumble and Sergeant Kup, who shares this mold with the yet unannounced Ironhide.

I'll get kup just incase ironhide dosn't see release (better safe then sorry) as well as rumble and airachnaid

edit: on a second look at airachnid I think I will pass. I think they should have made her a voyager so she was big enough to have her spider legs.....not digging the 7 limbs.

If Hasbro wanted to go REALLY nuts with mass-release versions of obscure Botcon characters, he could also be repainted into a great Turbomaster/Scorch.
Still can't get over our dashed hopes for a decent Airachnid. I bet it's all a plot to make collectors buy even more so we have extras to try and kitbash. They know us all too well.

To be honest, I kinda like that BB, and I'm mildly interested in Kup, if only because I think he'll look good with Ironhide & Magnus. Rumble looks like a lame bad guy from an even more lame show World of Quest. I may pass on him too until I see more pics.

Scorch was not a Botcon-only character... he was a turbomaster from G1...
I like the kup repaint. IS US getting him in Ironhide colours? Cause I saw some AM pre-orders for a deluxe Ironhide.

If you go according to Hasbro logic it could be both. Alternators Rumble was red, RTS rumble was blue. I personally belive Frenzy is Red, Rumble is Blue

Rumble looks freakin AWESOME.
I'll buy the Dead End mold because it has a different head mold. If it had been just a repaint I would have copiously avoided it. To bad they couldn't have given him some different weapons.
Airachnid is meh, but in the name of completion I'll still get her.
Don't know about the Bee. Already have FE, so will probably pass on this one.

Shadow Strike Bumblebee - don't want, don't need.
Airachnid - REALLY wish she was more show-accurate. I don't like it, but I'll get it since I like the character and just in case there's no better figure made later.
Sergeant Kup - while it should have been Ironhide, he doesn't look half bad. I can dig it.
Rumble - YOWZA! Easily the best-looking of this bunch! MUST BUY!

I'm starting to think Hasbro is releasing the inferior figures first on purpose. They know people are less likely to buy a repaint or new mold of the same character if the first one was better. That might be the reason they screwed us out of the FE figures, they knew nobody would buy the PRiD versions if we already had the superior FE figures.

This is a new universe from G1, and in this universe, FIRRIB.
I know it's kinda lazy to have all of Rumble's car mode on his shoulders, but I like the look it gives him anyway. So conflicting. Will buy, anyway. Dead End....he's growing on me, I'll probably buy him on discount. Shadow Strike Bumblebee is a PASS. Airachnid.....she needs to be so much better, but it's Airachnid, so I'll get her. Kup is awesome. Bought. Ironhide version is also bought.

Here's a weird thought:
Figures that didn't receive First Edition treatment are almost crazy accurate.
Wheeljack? Pretty dang close.
Knock Out? Pretty dang close.
Airachnid? Body needs work, but that head? Dead on.
Dreadwing? Almost perfect. Even got the gun we wanted.
First Edition figures are almost exact duplicates of the show models. (Key word: almost. They're not 100% perfect)
Yet their PRID versions are almost painful to look at. It's almost like they're GIVING us a reason to buy FE figures. If you take FE plus PRID to fill in the gaps, the cast toys look almost perfect.
....I swear this was a sales ploy. Looks like it's working, too.

I have no choice but to get them all except the Bumblebee repaint. I've got FE Bumblebee, that's good enough for me. I will grab Kup because I love the mold, Dead End is also an easy grab, as well as Rumble, because he looks AWESOME! Airachnid ...
I feel like holding out for a better Airachnid, but as I still have no leader class movie Blackout, I think I'll just grab this Airachnid. Hasbro is good at letting people down in some cases. I'm sure I'll like Airachnid once I have her, just like when I was pissed that I had to settle for Skullgrin over Straxus/Darkmount. Didn't like it at first, but once I had it I loved it.

At least we know this repaint BB will keep the current BB in stores company on them pegs . I think Arachnids alt mode from above looks like a craw-daddy with a propeller on top.

Am I correct in thinking Kup is just a repaint of Cyberverse Ironhide? That doesn't look like a deluxe to me. Rumble looks like a Cyberverse to me too. Anyone have any guesses?

dinojack86 wrote:On second glance Airachnid isn't AS BAD as the first few pics led me to believe. I will say I'm still not digging the legs/propellars. If only they added another joint to keep them a bit longer it wouldn't look as strange. But yes I will indeed see if I can fiddle with this to make it more show accurate with the long spindly legs.

Kup is a repaint..Rumble is a cyberverse commander size..The title of the news post is slightly misleading but Kup is a repaint of cyberverse ironhide..

Bumblebee -
Airachnid - I suppose it is too much to ask for a voyager, knowing Hasbro these days... worst part is she'll probably be as small as PRID Arcee.
Kup - For one I feel the Cyberverse Ironhide figure looks way better. Two: A green Ironhide does not a Kup make.
Rumble Frenzy(FIBRIR 4EVER!!1!) - That has to be the most terrifying torso I've ever seen in my life... it's like he ripped off the head of a gremlin and decided to wear it as a jacket.
All in all, I'm only really sad for Airachnid, but at this point I should be expecting less.
NEXT!

Airachnid is one that I'll add to my list and possibly rumble but i have to say that my list is not growing very darn fast.
As for "Seargent" Kup...
That's not Kup! If anything that's Brawn and that's stretching it but the one thing it most certainly is...IT'S F***ING LAZY!! Seriously, The only thing that is going to possibly save Hasbro's butt in the Transformer line is the FoC figures and that's only if they can get more than just the collectors and die-hards to snag them. I suppose I should be thankful for all the money I've saved since I haven't bought more than 15 dollars worth of figures since DotM came out because everything so far has been under-inspired crap.
I know, don't like it, don't buy and that's cool but I guess what torques me is that Hasbro isn't even trying anymore and that just makes them appear even more two-faced than what they already are since they claim that they actually give a damn.

PRID Vehicon is better than his FE version IMO.
Although, he's only 1 to a case of 7 other figs. What's the point of making a good toy rare? I've been to many stores with waves 1-3, and Soundwave and Vehicon are nowhere to be found.

No. More likely Starscream's face-on-chest syndrome(FOCS) is contagious.
Or did 'scream catch it from ROTF Skidz and Mudflap?
Makes me think of Brains as he was shown in the DOTM comic.
Also, Frenzy AND Rumble can be RED OR BLUE.

False. Kup is Deluxe. That is NOT the Cyberverse Ironhide mold. Compare the pics and it's obvious. Cyberverse Ironhide doesn't have NEARLY that much detail or articulation. Rumble also appears to have way to much articulation to be a Cyberverse figure, and if he was, he'd be a Legion, not a Commander.

(every time someone argues about what colour they are a protoform dies)
Dead End looks amazing. Yes, he's horribly coloured, but I think that's the point. He's my pre/post- BW Waspinator. The head works and he even has a nice green Decepticon symbol on him, which is probably the closest Hasbro is going to get to a Predacon one.
The Bumblebee repaint doesn't look particularly bad, but...it's a Bumblebee repaint, and missing the charming new head that made Hot Shot look good.
I'll probably get Airachnid. Seeing more and more pics I'm certainly less enthused than I was when I heard she was getting a toy, but like Dead End, she can be my stand-in for a vehicle mode Beast Wars character, in this case: Blackarachnia.
I like the Kup mold, but not as Kup, and honestly, not really as Iron Hide either. I do sort of like how the Cyberverse version is black and red, mixing the two more popular versions of the character, but either colourscheme in this deluxe will just be a duplicate that I don't need. A Turbomaster Scorch repaint would have been pre-ordered quickly.
Finally, the toy named Rumble. He looks quite goofy. Definitely be renaming him if I get him, maybe Crankcase? The head-chest makes me think of a Pretender for some reason, but all the blue guys were underwater ones...hmm?

I know, I just worded that horribly while half asleep, hoping Flamewar had started the trend again. Thanks for correcting.
And for the record, I'm unwaveringly RIR,FIB, because blue Frenzies are the ones with unique tech spec powers instead of Rumble's leftovers.
Also agree with whoever said he looks Gurren Lagan-ish, an inevitable result of chest-face designs getting less subtle.

I like Kup. I was hoping to see him first as Ironhide, but I'll buy a Kup.
Same goes for Rumble. I wanted him red, but okay.
Airachnid I already decided I'm getting.
I refuse to buy Bumblebees unless absolutely necessary. And this is not necessary.
Dead End I'll pass on just because I have no interest. He doesn't really resemble previous Dead Ends.
