Hasbro wrote:Prime First Edition was a limited release. Toys R Us stores in each market chose from a variety of assortments available to tease the launch of the 2012 Transformers Prime Robots in Disguise Line.
The main line of Robots in Disguise is the new Prime line for 2012. There are no plans at this time for additional Prime First Edition figures, but if there is a demand for them, we may look at it again in the future.

These... I never saw them in my STATE. Really puzzled at the half-@$$ed release, and that they'd end the run and move to the other inferior molds almost immediately.

germismith wrote:Well *that* seemed like a waste of money. Create the molds and do a half-assed release, only to release the main line with shitty, different molds? I... don't get it. Here's hoping they revisit that Powerizer Prime mold.
It's the store's fault, not Hasbro. Hasbro has the figures on offer for retailers, but if retailers don't buy their stock... well, you saw what happened.

The First Edition toys have stopped shipping from Hasbro
From now on, there will be only leftover stock. However, that doesn't leave behind the possibility of repaints of FE molds.

I'm not sure about that, the first wave flew off the shelves at my TRU. They never got anything beyond that and now the shelves are pretty bare.
Hasbro needs to learn about a thing called supply and demand. Instead they create demand for something good and supply crap instead.

Seriously Hasbro, prepare to see me leave your customer base. If DOTM and Prime:RID is the final destination of TF toys, I want nothing to do with them.
Crappy, gimmicky, undersized, under-engineered scheisse.

I believe the First Editions were marketed for us collectors (especially in Japan, given the paint apps etc.) and to get the kiddies ready for the upcoming TF:Prime toys.
I'm glad I pre-ordered every First Edition figure (Hasbro AND Takara) on BBTS from the beginning (Takara ones already in hand of course) as I had suspicions we might not see these molds/color schemes again.
Maybe down the road Has/Tak will do a second wave of these (with all the molds available in Japan released in the US) for us collectors, but that will probably only be a trickle through store exclusive editions (TRU, Wal-Mart, Target etc.) which means they may be hard to track down.

I can see it, morons around a table rubbing their hands together thinking that they came up with a killer strategy to get us to buy their stuff and all they manage to do is piss us off.

Ravage XK wrote:Well, I wont be buying the sub standard Prime RID line and I cant find First Edition figures at an acceptable price. So looks like my money will be going on third party figures.
This.
I don't buy online....so it looks like I'll just pick up what at can at botcon. Somebot's gonna be making cash on these figures....
I also don't get the sort of partway run on these figures. So, less of us get them, or we spend more money on them, leaving less money for other stuff. In the end, it doesn't seem like anybody's winning / except the folks selling them for jacked up prices in the future.

Everything RID is so ugly and inferior to the FE versions.
I'm on the "give all my bot money to third party" train. Guess I'm getting Hercules after all!

This isn't what we want, Hasbro. We don't want an Optimus Prime who's arms magically glow. We don't want automorph features and mech-tech shoved into figures where it isn't necessary.
We simply want more of the screen accurate and well enginerred figures JUST like the ones from the "First Edition" release. As a matter of fact...why don't you fine folks at Hasbro re-release the "First Edition" figures because in many places, like where I live, for example, I had to drive 75 miles out of the way to Birmingham, AL because that's where the closest Toys R Us is to me. The local Wal-Mart's and Target's never restock their shelves with new product. Closest stores to me are still COVERED in old Dark of the Moon crap.
So, Hasbro, if you're listening...please...PLEASE...re-release the First Edition figures! I've only managed to find one T_T

I had my girlfriend run the DPCI for the Entertainment Pack and she said it's active, but not on their planogram, yet. She did say that other stores may carry it because it's an active item and is ready for release. Some stores will carry certain items, while others won't.
So Target, as far as she and I know, are supposed to be carrying the E.P, whenever it's released to them. Plus, it has US packaging with The Hub sticker on it, I know, I imported the Canadian release, which is the US release.
The E.P. also has an active SKN in TRU computers, they've yet to receive it in stores.
So, apparently there are some TFP First Edition toys still available, but who knows who will get them?
EDIT: Looks like I'll have to import the Vehicon, too. Dang it. I don't want to pay import prices and I know the PRID version is more show accurate, but I want to complete the F.E. set before I get into PRID, too much. If I do.
Only promising figures so far are Voyager Megatron, Deluxes Wheeljack and Soundwave.

That's not really relevant, we're complaining that they aren't releasing them not that the quality is lacking.

I could not believe this news post about the TF Prime FP Toys. I also have the complete Line up on pre-order from BBTS and i really hope Hasbro does not f*** this up. At least Takara did put them out complete.
What do you all think, will the BBTS pre-order stand or fall?? I mailed them about a week ago asking for more Vehicons and the Hasbro Toys. And they aswered that the Hasbro toys will come this month, january. A few days left by now.
(Forgive my english, i´m a "foreign" user from germany and i will happily post some more info as soon as i have found the introduction section)

*sighs*
Not true, at least not entirely.
90's toys suffered, greatly, from GPS, which affected big, important pieces of the toyline.
I'd say the quality has come up some.

In all seriousness Hasbro and TRU did seem to slap everyone in the face, especially considering these were meant for collectors and we know they read the forums. They really need to adjust the meaning of a wave when it comes to a promotion with such a limited release.
I think they just got a new bong in the meeting room and have been spending more time with that than thinking of ways to make loyal customers happy.

Just means I will have more money for GI Joe, Thundercats, and 360 games.
But what I really want to know is where the hell is Season 3 of Animated?

Hasbro can't force a retailer to sell their figures, and from a retailers perspective I can see why the First Editions might not be too attractive. An entire line that offers only 8 figures for a limited time until they are replaced in short order by the main RiD line which everyone knew was coming and would contain a good variety of figures. Hasbro only need to distribute their goods to a handful of the retailer's distribution centres. It's then their job to distribute them to the hundreds, if not thousands of stores across the nation, where they would most likely sit taking up peg/shelf space. The First Edition deluxe wave 1 figures were the smallest, cheapest and contained the most well-known characters. I'd say you were lucky to get them as it is.
The only way I think Hasbro can be held accountable is for putting these figures in a line of their own. Sticking to the original plan and integrating them with the Generations line would've avoided this problem.

Wait, did you just say "a very conservative $60-$70" in reference to a $12 toy?
When was perspective so hopelessly lost?

The one thing that sticks in my mind from the last podcast is mention of how much it costs to develop a mold in the first place. Hasbro has obviously developed the mold and produced it in numbers, so it makes no sense that they would be the ones to prevent them hitting U.S. retail.

If it was solely the retailers fault for not wanting to run a lot of them, could Hasbro not just sell them on Hasbro Toyshop? They aren't, and so they get my rage and not my money.
