So, we get Part 1 of an important two-parter (but not Part 2), three standalone episodes (this is fine), one of those being an episode that follows on from a previous space-themed episode (which is not included here), and the conclusion of the show's most important story arc (but which is unconnected to most of the eps on this set)?

Transformers: Rescue Bots, nearing its fourth season soon, will apparently add a new female character to the cast, and she may very well be of Cybertronian origin! The confirmation comes from series writer and co-creator Nicole DuBuc, via fellow fansite TFW2005 member IceMagnus - no current further details, but you can check out the short Twitter exchange below.

I have no interest in Rescue Bots, but it's always nice to see females (and fembots) being more visible.

It's definitely a kiddie show for kids, but well written. Hopefully there will be less whining about whoever this new fembot turns out to be.

Which is par for the course of most every TF cartoon (the likes of Beast Machines and TF: Prime being exceptions rather than the norm). ;)

Arguably one of, in not the, most well written one we've ever got. :D

Huh? Less whining? Did some not like a previous fembot character in another show? Image

My son was 6 when the first RB episode premiered, he is 10 now. I just hope he hasn't outgrown RB by the time season 4 premiers. (he doesn't talk about it much now, or even watch the episodes on Netflix) For adults its no big deal to wait months, or even a year between seasons, but for kids it seems like forever. I have no vested interest in this show. PRIME was MY show, and until the next mature TF series comes along (hopefully the Machimina's CW), I patiently wait, but for my sons sake, I hope season 4 comes along soon. Probably spring 2016 I'm guessing however...

And I'd be willing to bet the Female Transformer is Windblade in a couple of episode rather than a new character series regular.

But, Windblade's over in RID right now, and not a Rescue Bot.

that's why I said Cameo just like BB & Optimus (who appeared in TF Prime & RB synonymously) Windblade would likely only appear in a couple of episodes

But would she be online at this point in time, though? Didn't she reactivate during RID season 1 (which takes place in the future from RB's present)?

In her first RID episode, I believe Windblade appeared from a Space Bridge (don't quote me its been a few months since I watched it) But whether she was a new creation on Cybertron's Post-Prime era, or a returning Autobot from deep space is never really explained.

Also the time between the end of TF Prime, current RB, and Future RID is a little sketchy. I know they are all supposed to be in an "Aligned" continuity, but without details, and different people working on each show, I really don't think Hasbro cares too much, unfortunately.

She woke up on Earth one month prior to her debut episode.

And if Bumblebee's still beeping in RB, then RB is still before RID.

That episode deserves to be awarded! One of the best, most entertaining episodes of the whole series. So much effort and love went into that one with everybody giving it their all to make it the most it could be.

If not that one, then "Switcheroo" would the next obvious choice to be nominated. :D

The key phrase in all of that of course being, Pre-School children. ;) Don't get me wrong, I'm glad youngsters have a fun, entertaining, safe show that is well written they can enjoy, and it shouldn't be taken from them. It's just that as an adult fan who has supported the brand since the very beginning, I'd like a show I can enjoy as well. TF: Prime was a perfect example of this.

Age range has little to do with how good this show is. I'm an adult with no children of my own and vastly preferred/prefer Rescue Bots over Prime any day.

Prime should never be considered the standard that any normal TF cartoon should adhere to (especially Prime's awful first season, seasons 2-3 were much better). It was an exception to the norm.

SEASON 4 TRAILER!!!!!!

Consists of both new footage from season 4 and old footage from previous seasons.

Also, Cody's got a new, older-looking design, and we get our first glimpse of the new female Rescue Bot (despite what some suspected, it's not Medix).

I'm guessing Garfias's voice dropped, thus necessitating that Cody be a little older to avoid recasting him.

They learn that new technology can assist them in wondrous ways, but it can also have consequences if misused. 2 Transformers Rescue Bots: Space Bots
3 Transformers Rescue Bots: The Island Of Misfit Tech

So, the included episodes are 29, 38, 39, 55, and 76. The first three are season 2 episodes while the latter two are from season 3, and all five deal with some kind of tech gone awry.

Though, with the last episode being the one that was nominated for an Annie Award, I can see this DVD being a decent sell.

I understand the hesitancy by S!F to release season sets because of the younger audience this is aimed at. But still...I know my son would love to have full season sets. This will be the 10th single disc DVD. By my count, only 49 episodes have been released (all DVD's together add up to 51, but S1E1 & S1E11 have been released twice). And seeing as how they are released by "theme" and not in chronological order, it causes fans who want the whole series to refrain from purchasing. Again...I know the show is for younger audiences. But I would think at some point, even if just on standard DVD, S!F would release season sets for those (like my son) who would want them.

Yes I now the whole series is on Netflix, but as we all know, things don't stay there forever.

Yes, they were actually talking about this at BC2013, his voice was *starting* to change then, but I think the recording for S2 had already finished, I'm surprised they didn't make the change for season 3, but it all worked itself out. -The Same thing happened to Andy Pessosa (Raf on TF : Prime). He had limited dialogue in S3 however, and no doubt they would have aged him also if the show had gone on.

Maybe your son and other kids who feel the same way should write to S!F? It's probably a long shot, but maybe if they hear enough demand from the target audience, they might reconsider.

Fellow Seibertronians, Dr.Va'al has pointed us in the direction of a new video previewing Transformers: Rescue Bots Season 4, and the introduction of the new female Rescue Bot: Quickshadow. Quickshadow, who was first revealed here, is set to join the cast in season 4, which is set to begin April 23, at 8AM ET. Check out the video and the summary - which can be found here, and let us know what you think in the comments below.

Big news for Heatwave, Chase, Blades, and Boulder: in the fourth season of Discovery Family Channel’s Transformers Rescue Bots, the Autobots will not only celebrate their 100th episode, but they’ll get two new friends, including the first female Rescue Bot!

ER and Doctor Who’s Alex Kingston will guest star as Quickshadow, the first female Bot, while The Last Man on Earth and Bob’s Burgers star Kristen Schaal will provide the voice for another new Bot, Chickadee, in episodes airing later in Season 4.

The new season of the Emmy and Annie Award-nominated series premieres with back-to-back episodes on April 23. “New Normal” and Bride Building” finds the Rescue Bots forced to reveal their extraterrestrial backgrounds to the good people of Griffin Rock, when an evil alien group invades the town.

It’s up to the citizens to vote on whether or not the Bots get to stay in town, but, spoiler alert, since the rest of the season revolves around the gang completing construction of the cool new Mainland Training Center – as seen in the Season 4 trailer above – it’s probably safe to assume Heatwave and the gang will remain Griffin Rock presences for the foreseeable future.

Transformers Rescue Bots Season 4 premieres April 23 at 8 a.m. on Discovery Family Channel

What kind of name is Chickadee?

I wonder if it's a code name to keep the character secret until their debut.

You beat me to it. That screen name I remember seeing posting RID15 on Dailymotion, I think. So hopefully they show up there more permanently soon.

I'm gonna sound like psj for saying this though, but trying to reconnect Rescue Bots, Prime, and RID15 is going to get painful. On the one hand, if 3 years have passed between season 3 and 4 and several months have lapsed between times Heatwave has seen Prime, since if he has been trying since Predacons Rising and THATS only been a few months, the presence of the older kids and the new Toddler would cramp the timeline.

So, theory 1) Three years since End of Prime, and the beginning of Rescue Bots. That means, give or take a few months, the three month Lapse that Heatwave has not been able to reach Optimus is not his death per the Wiki, but in fact the time span of the Season 2 Stealth team arc of RID15. By relation, that means season 1 of RID is ~2 years after the End of Transformers Prime, which does not necessarily contradict anything SAID by any series, but that does not feel like the implied timelines given how long Ratchet implied he was rounding up fugitives. Which is probably better discussed in RID, but this is the ongoing series now. :-?

Theory 2)
Rescue Bots is still occuring during the Span of Prime. Predacons Rising gave the impression of events moving fairly quickly after the main series, but maybe there's enough stretch between the End of Prime and the beginning of the Movie, that Prime was able to build the Rescue Bots in Legacy before he left to rebuild Cybertron.

Theory 3)
We're all cray nutzo cookoo for still trying to fit square pegs in round holes after 3 seasons. 8-}

I love how the ALiens are using Zebra calls for their vocals. felt bad for the alien leader not getting soethign to eat, at least he could've been given a cow? Autobots should be nicer than that... nah.

I love how Huxley lost a bet to Neederlander. That was classic. She'd be the one to figure it out though, expecially after Riders of Midwinter, that's a lot of interaction with them.

Season 4 Episode 2 on Youtube (Until its taken down) (Not my video)

What is it with Autobots and Ground Bridges? Soundwave can use one to scratch his back from across the room, but Autobots can't get a Land Line built? I bet this is what FIxit was trying to do with the dual vortex whatever. I think this is the most impressive of the Ground Bridges seen so far.

Classic Huxley.

Is this a new persona for Milo? I don't remember him crying about the Sky falling before? But then, I don't remember him either.

I'm not sold on Heatwave's not likeing the people knowing yet. All the pieces are there about him trying to protect his team's safety and privacy, and his own brooding loner nature, but I am just not feeling the whole picture. Hopefully we get past this quickly.

Sand Surfing! Using the Boat was unexpected for me. I woulda used the ladder, send Chase up, then he can pull Heatwave. kinda like the Marines and the Wall drill.

Or the Dino Modes. Not sure they woulda helped, but the Camel seems to get around okay. Camel!

Kids love Fire truck rides. I hope they never stop using that routine.

this new building they're gonna be constructing....i'm thinking it's probably a basebot of some kind :-? maybe Grandus :-? they're certainly giving enough hints that it can transform

the mysterious car by the oasis...could that be our first glimpse of Quick Shadow :-? mind you...it looked like it had the wrong profile for Quick Shadow's vehicle mode.....it looked more like a 4 wheel drive

Eh, I am used to a notion that a Spoiler doesn't expire until at least the next day, for those ho can't watch it right when it airs. It is a colossal pain in the aft though, I admit.

Showed these to my son. He enjoyed watching them, but as expected I can see he is beginning to age out. I'm sure he will stick with it if this is the last season, if it goes on much more I doubt it. Although he doesn't miss a beat, when the Rescue Bots activated their ground bridge and saw (seemingly two of them) he immediately said "Shadow Zone...cool Soundwave!"... but then I reminded him who this show was for, and that they would never do that.

I am curious though, to see if we get any links between RB and RiD, so we can get some idea of how much time has actually passed between the end of Prime, and the beginning of RiD. Based on the aging of Cody, and the fact that Doc Green (& Wife) now have a baby, Id say 2-3 years at the most since the events of the end of season 3. But Cody seems to talk as if it had been several yeas, but then again, the passage of time from a kids point of view is a bit different than an adults.

i still say that new training centre will possibly be Grandus ;)^ it's certainly a robot in disguise, seeing as they're giving us enough hints about it, as for a playset coming out....as long as it isn't like the non robot playset of High Tide(YES! i know that more recently the Deep Water High Tide came out that DOES transform into a robot).

Why? Why would you ever think that something so obscure and unknown by the general fandom would even be on the radar of this show whose target audience would barely even know who Megatron is? This is a not a show that dives that deep into obscurity.

Your expectations of Grandus are highly unrealistic, as the current team at Hasbro likely doesn't know who Grandus even is, let alone that he exists. The team who made Titan class Metroplex had never even heard of Metrotitan, who is just as obscure as Grandus.

Someone even said that the current Hasbro didn't even know what Beast Wars was until the fans had explained it to them.

well....we'll just see how this plays out....on the show....& what/who this building eventually turns out to be!....if i'm right i'm right.....if i'm wrong....then....i'm wrong ;)

oh...& hypothetically....say that it did turn out to be Grandus! would you hate on the series & suddenly stop watching it from then on in? seeing as you are trying to justify against it being him.

Thanks to a video found on Youtube, we now have a good lengthy look at new Rescue Bot Quickshadow! What is really cool is that this new Rescue Bot will be voiced by Alex Kingston, who played fan favourite River Song on Doctor Who. Quickshadow shall be making her debut in Rescue Bots this coming Saturday. We have mirrored the video below for you to watch and enjoy. Oof, sounds like Doctor Who's River Song can't do voice acting that well. :-|

Voice is off sync with body posture, and a little staccato, but I can warm up to it. if she's a good character.

Seems like they stole her character from Doctor Who, being a professional (agent/archaeologist) who likes to work alone and is really good at her job (shooting aliens/being a secret agent), all the while making her contemporaries feel inferior (hijacking the team's ground bridge/piloting the Tardis better than the Doctor), additionally sometimes seeming like she has some other motive (showing up out of the blue after messing with the team/showing up out of the blue after messing with the team)
