Here is one that just came out of nowhere! Amazon.com just posted a brand new Rescue Bots toy, by Playskool Heroes, the Transformers Rescue Bots Optimus Prime Exclusive! We don't know much about toy and this design of Optimus Prime has not appeared in the comics before. But this figure does look like a remold of Rescue Bots Hoist!

That's CHEATING! [-(

And I think I want one, rediculous looking tow arm and all. But I suspect aftermaret pricing for something from that long ago (I just dated myself...) is beyond what I want to pay for a pseuo Matchbox

Following on the heels of the unannounced and out of nowhere Optimus Prime Amazon.com exclusive using the Rescue Bots Hoist mold comes another new Rescue Bots remold in the form of Heatwave the Fire Bot. This toy uses the mold previously seen on Rescue Bots Medix, but features a new deco and a head more suitable for the Heatwave character.

This toy is available now on Amazon.com for $14.99 plus tax and is eligible for free 2-day shipping through Amazon Prime. Images of this new toy are mirrored below.

Why didn't they even announce these at BotCon?

And after seeing that wonderfully show-accurate headsculpt, I wish it had been used on the original Heatwave toy (regardless of how impossible that would have been).

It's weird, right? This and the OP toy just sort of showed up out of nowhere. I'm not complaining, I love the surprises - almost reminds me of back in the day when new Beast Wars stuff would hit shelves and I was so behind on Toy Fare magazine that it was brand new to me the second it hit my hands and not before.

Were they really desperate to use these molds?First Hoist as OP,now Medix as Heatwave.
The colouring is kinda weird.

P.S. Heatwave now has a beer gut!

I think they were trying to make Heatwave look like Movie Ratchet, but it does look a bit too yellow. Guess I'll see when it comes in tomorrow!

ScottyP has some fun news for Rescue Bot fans with a new sighting:

Rescue Bots Rescan Bumblebee found at a Target in Raleigh, NC for $9.99. Feels like this came out of nowhere. Others in the assortment were all in previous waves: Salvage, OP (small truck), Heatwave (boat), Blades (jet).

I've seen another picture of this thing (haven't seen it in person yet, though), and it looks like its design is like a cross between Bee's Prime and RID designs.

If they feel like remaking things perhaps they can make the Dinosaurs in a larger size - such a nice idea compromised by an almost total lack of paint and minuscule size.

Chase with clear pieces for his stega-fins would look cool -especially if he was the size of the new larger Heatwave Fire truck then they could light up too.

If they could make the Dino's larger then have maybe a place so something can ride on them that would be lots of fun.

I hope one day Hasbro will make the little figures with joints too (like they did Cody who came with the big playset) perhaps as part of a giftset.

It's a shame that they don't promote these more - I didn't even know there was going to be a Dani Figure until I tripped over her on shelves in a two pack.

Yes and no. Personally, I feel anything that is a transformer should, of course, transform. These are for the wee little ones, though, and I can personally attest that my 18 and 30 month old sons both love these things. The lack of transformation actually comes in hand as the figure stays in a shape they recognize.

Either way, in about 10 years or so, we'll probably start seeing proper Generations-style figures of these guys. If I'm still collecting by then, I'll probably get them.

Been waiting forever for these two sets to come out. I really like how the toyline is starting to produce more toys of things that were created specifically for the show by its production team instead of vice-versa. The drill is Griffin Rock's Tunnel Forger from episode 36, and the sub is the second of Dr. Morocco's sea vessels.

As for the figures themselves, Graham's the only one I could do without. My Blades has gone missing so this'll get me a new one. I could use a Morocco with better paint apps than the one I already have. And, I've already got four MorBots, so I'll gladly take a fifth one.

When it rains sightings, it certainly pours. This analogy may imply that we're getting soaked in our news cycle today, but this ain't Sea World, it's as real as it gets because now we have Rescue Bots toy sighting news to report.

Yours truly stopped in to the local Toys R US in Raleigh, NC today and spotted the Transformers: Rescue Bots High Tide Rescue Rig, as well as the Tunnel Rescue Drill Set and Shark Sub Capture Set previously only known to be available on Amazon.

Image

Image

It'll run you $29.99 plus tax to party it up on High Tide's boat, and the Rescue Drill and Shark Sub were too busy flipping burgers so I didn't scan them to get the price, but it's likely comparable to Amazon. Probably.

If you see any new toys at retail that we haven't made a news post about yet, and they're still, well, new, be sure to let our News Crew know here, and if you see these particular toys locally be sure to let your fellow collectors know in your local Sightings Thread

Sadly, I've heard that such a day will likely be a long time coming.

I'm just hoping we at least get a transforming version of High Tide's super mode before it's all over. Not that I'm dissing the current High Tide toy, I'd just like one that does that particular thing.

Probably not Masterpiece, since Takara handles those and I don't think Rescue Bots airs in Japan.

But if they did make Masterpiece Rescue Bots, I'd be hoping for Energize Gear and Burnses (or Greenes) that can drive them

We have a new Transformers Rescue Bots sighting coming at you from Mount Prospect, IL. Chase and Blades were found at a Walmart there by Seibertron. We actually got our first look at these guys a few months ago on the Hasbro website. If you are in need of a new Rescue Bots toy fix then it wouldn't hurt to head on down to your local Walmart and see if these guys are in stock. If you have a new toy sighting then use the Contact Us link at the top right hand corner and let us know so we can spread the word.

I got an email notification for this thread, but clicking any link to it from the email brought me to a "ERROR 404: PAGE NOT FOUND" page. Had to get here the old-fashioned way instead.

Anyway, like I said before, Blades looks superbly show-accurate in his new mold, but Chase's new mold seems more like a halfhearted attempt. And both could use a lot more paint, which is unfortunate considering how their cartoon models really aren't that super-detailed in their color schemes.

These are new molds that are much smaller than the originals, being the size of the Rescan figures, and are more show-accurate in their sculpting being more closely based on the cartoon models.

There's no doubt that some Seibertronians are going to be out and about doing some holiday shopping over the next week and a half. If you've got a young Rescue Bots fan on your list to tide over next week, it looks like the current is in your favor as the Transformers: Rescue Bots Epic Figure, High Tide, is out at US retail. This was found by yours truly yesterday at a Target store in Raleigh, NC for the oddball price of $10.19.

Image

These non-transforming figures aren't widely sought by collectors, but they interact with other Playskool heroes figures and accessories, so this may be a fun addition for the young fan in your life. Don't forget to contact our news team when you see sightings that haven't hit our front page yet, and as always keep your browser anchored here to Seibertron.com for all the latest.

The RB Epic figures are the only Titan Hero-esuqe figures I buy due to A) their added level of interactivity with other figures in the line via their chest cockpits, and B) their not completely lacking in painted color.

It's nice to see that some people found those new Transforming Minicon pet things - and the mini-building that also come with similar (but slightly smaller) pets - they are really cute.

The buildings are ringing up on till at $19.99 but the tiny mini-figures are coming up as $14.99 - the people buying them have been point out how this isn't consistent with other similar products and haggled this down to $4.99 though - I would guess they are suppose to be the same size /price as a RID Minicon though - 8-} so I have no idea why they got put in the system at $14.99.

My criticisms remain the same that they always are though but my general comments would be.

1) Human Articulation - The mini-figures in a playset at least really should be articulated to a better standard - for practical reasons if no other reasons it makes sense to make them able to sit down or raise their arms for the humans - and they have done this with a single Cody figure so far.

2) Paint : this seems a bit better that they have been - better than the Rescue Dinobots anyway.

3) I wish more Rescue Bot robots could raise their arms to use the tools / weapons more effectively as it stands only a tiny minority can do that properly - that shows bad cross branding in my view.

Over all though I like them - I hope they show up in the UK too.

-----

If anyone gets them I'd be interested to see a photo of the cross-sell on the back of the boxes and also any info on if the mini-building do anything or connect to each other or previous playsets at all.

It's a new year and we have new Transformers Rescue Bots toy sightings. This sighting comes to us from Target in Raleigh, NC where Twincast Podcaster ScottyP sends us images of the Griffin Rock Garage playset for $19.99 and also Drake & Servo for $14.99. The price for Drake and Servo may be a mistake since Hasbro MSRP on these guys is $4.99. Fellow Seibertronian Survivefan23 reached out to us with a fun discovery. He sent us a picture of the back of the recent Hook & Ladder Heatwave which shows a new reveal.

Image

That robot circled in red has never been seen before. It shares the same type of mold as Medix the Doc-Bot (shown below for reference) and Survivefan23 thinks this might be our first look at the female Rescue Bot that was teased a while ago. This could just be another toy only character (like Medix) or anther version of Medix.

Who do you think this new bot is? Let us know!

I talked with the creators of the show through their Facebook page. They wouldn't say much. They said that they think Hasbro is using the same mold. I told them they're wrong. Maybe when Toy Fair comes next month, if it does show up there, maybe someone can ask them who it is.
