Transformers Siege Wave 2 Deluxes Being Found Across the Globe

I manage to find all of wave 2 over the passed couple weeks. One of my friends doesn’t make it to the city often(he lives about 30 minutes away) so I went out to see if anything was getting restocked. One Walmart I went to had over 30 deluxes of wave 2 on the top shelf! It was insane

So, yesterday I got Prowl and Ironhide in the mail. Of the two, Ironhide was my most anticipated, and while I quite like his boxy bot mode, as a whole this still isnt the Ironhide I wanted. My figure has the loose right leg flap, but both panels tab in nice enough. It looks lime the hing part was cast too wide to hold the plastic nubs in.

Now, I'm not saying the Energon mold is the greatest thing ever, it certainly has some wonky proportions, spindly thighs, a too round head and Van mode, but pound for pound this does everything one could want out of a G1 Ironhide remake: battle sled, gun ports, seperate robot mode, and I stand vy my argument that this is the best remake Ironhide we have up til Siege. Certainly better than the Ubiverse mold, whose vehicle had more panel gaps than a shattered mirror.

Is it better than Siege? Not in Bot mode, but the Jury is out for me on Vehicle mode. For all of its touting about "Choose your Weapon Loadout", Siege has been very hard for me to find weapons I like. True, I am using old toyline guns and Hasbro can't be fairly judged for not bring baclwards compatible with every gun they ever made, but the 5mm peg os standard for a lot of things and I cant be the only one using old toy guns.

The guns I am using for Ironhides past and present are a gun from one of the CW Jets with the propellant tank, and the two cannons from Prime Kup, intended for an Ironhide release that never came. Of those, the CW Gun looks great, but the Prime Cannons are not only small looking, but they are loose in his pegholes. They hold well enough for static display, but they fall outV despite being snug on every other figure including Timelines 'Hide. And in vehicle mode, Ironhide doesnt have a lot of usable 5mm ports. The 4 in top are great except if you put the rocket launcher in one you block the other behind it. There are no ports on the side. With Timelines Ironhide, I could swing those canjons backwards and make them rockets. Not so much here.

Thanks to Chuckdawg's review, for showing me the hidden side ports. If the cannons were longer, they could look really good there, but its not a bad look.

Still, I can't say I am dissappointed by Ironhide, even paying a bit extra for shipping, its still a good toy, and the store I bought it from was a local toy shop, so yay for supporting small businesses!

You’re transforming his chest wrong. You have to hinge it down and there’s grooves inside otherwise the top goes over his chin like in your photos

It isn't an update in any way, it's a homage. It's just a call back to the original, but only partial since the smaller bot mode looks nothing like the Cybertron figure. Just last week, stores again got ONE case of Voyager Siege Wave 2, and now those are drying up with nothing left to restock. If other Walmarts around the country have plenty of figures, I think we can safely blame any lack in other areas to Walmart's stupid inventory tracking and supply distribution?

I will admit that Barricade looks better though, as I like the black and purple combination, but Prowl is still a great looking mold

Personally I think Prowl might be the my favorite out of the the wave. He’s duking it out with ironhide but I’ll admit his flaws bring him down just a notch. Prowl is much better in person than what photos are doing for the guy.

I think Sige Prowl IS better tham the pictures, but those thighs are spinly, and we have had too many car guys over the years with the collapsing leg trick for that to be excusable. I also really dont like the car without the Lightbar, so while I am excited for Barricade in some ways, i am also less thrilled for Streak and the potential Smokescreen.

I think i am gonna end up givong Barricadr thr bigger of thr teo guns from the Generations Skids mold. Not sure if I will give him the grey skids gun, the one that came with Crosscut, or the purple gun from AOE Rollbar. The Purple might match best, or I could paint one.

Faded old stock photos make colors look washed out. Ryan's in-hand photo gallery does much better justice for the colors.

Prowl is indeed a very good mold, and much better in person than stock photos would have you believe. I also don't think his proportions are all that off either. My only gripe is that he could use some more/different paint apps. Bring on the rest of the Datsun Bros.!

Yes we have but we haven’t had cars that legs transform like Prowls. That’s the thing. A lot of bots who turn into cars legs just fold over the back of the thighs where prowl transforms not unlike the original prowl or a lot of Binaltech figures who’s legs weren’t very thick where the legs collapse. I mean you look at the inside
If his altmode, there’s not a lot of room in there when transformed.

I see the gripe and criticism from people and maybe I’m just happy to have a prowl that doesn’t suffer from sticky paint syndrome but nothing about him bothers me.

Theres Cog, Sixgun, and Brunt

i wonder what will they do to Fasttrack and Slammer?

Slammer makes sense as quick retool or repaint of Brunt. I could see Fasttrack as a retool/combo of sixgun and Cog. But I surmise that Fasttrack will be packed with scorponok. So next summer at the earliest

As previously stated yesterday was my first sightings of wave 2. I managed to see at least one of all the deluxes, and one Starscream between the stores I went to. Additionally, I've seen quite a bit of Aimless in stores, but no Pteraxadon. It's like people are going through and just getting him. I went to 2 Targets and a Walmart yesterday. All 3 had plenty of wave 1 (Lionizer, Firedrive and Blowpipe), & Aimless from wave 2...I'm sure some of them are *whatever* battle master is repacked from W1 into W2...But it was still puzzling nonetheless.

I'm mostly getting them for my son, so I'll admit I'm not the best at identifying them, especially since some of the humanoid ones look so similar. Other than the fire blasts, I wish Hasbro would have tried a little harder with color coordination (other than swapping them) to make them standout somehow.

And Totally glad to be so. In fact, I hope everyone here, no matter where in the world they live, If they can sight these toys within say..a 2 week window between March 25th and April 7th (except in Japan where we know they have their own release schedule, which isn't a bad thing), then I'll concede that distribution is actually getting better, which is something to definitely be glad about.

Apparently these have been spotted in the US but no one sent us a message about it. Until now of course, when fellow Seibertronian Decepticon Finishline told us that he found both battle Masters WFC-S16 Pteraxadon and WFC-S17 Aimless at US retail. We know many others have found them, but some may not know they are out there, hence this post. That still leaves the wave 2 Micro Masters unaccounted for so let us know if you find them!

I found them both at a Super Target in Lincoln Nebraska.

The sightings page has a lot of other listings as well. So it's been seen elsewhere, as well.

I have some sightings of Siege Starscream, Battle Masters wave 2, SS BB Optimus and Rampage, and Speed Series Cliffjumper. Found these at a Target in Brooklyn, New York.

Again, I attribute it to Aimless not really standing out, especially next to Blowpipe. I had to spend a good minute or so looking at them both to remember which one I had, and which one I didn't . But Pteraxadon certainly stands out, too bad I didn't see him.

I'll have to keep an eye out for the Battle Masters. Wave 2 finally arrived in my part of Texas. Hopefully Pteraxadon is not too far behind.

I finally managed to get a Leader Shockwave today and it's a pretty good figure; a great design, nice and poseable, easy to transform, and the accessories are a lot of fun. It's a shame he is so small though, even combined with all of his extra parts he's shorter than the average Voyager toy. I can't help but feel slightly ripped off, but I am still satisfied with Shockwave.
As for other toys in this line, Shockwave is really the only one I want, but if I hear good things about Omega Supreme once it's out I'll try to muster up the cash for it.

I agree with you. Shockwave is nice, but his leader pricing is the total opposite. Especially when you compare him with ultra magnus(7 armor pieces and 5 weapon pieces vs 5 armor pieces). You shouldn’t feel like you got slightly ripped off, shockwave is a rip-off at MSRP. Considering shockwave is getting repacked with the galaxy upgrade Optimus later, I bet shockwave will go on sale in the near future.

I uhh...dropped the ball on this one, I have had Megatron for over 3 months and never reported he had a running change because I figured they were all like mine and everyone who complained just had bad QC, not that I had the running change that will be used in the takara version

Since I was bored, I was just trying to do a little objective analysis of the two most recent Transformers Generations toy lines (Power of the Primes & Siege). Granted there are a lot of x factors such as, price increase, mold reuse etc... I was just wondering, which line overall do you feel is more developed. Not necessarily, which you enjoy more, but simply which offers more... Now of course, not everything is not going to be 100% apples-to-apples comparisons, but in trying to be as objective as I can, here is what I've determined, keeping in mind, these are just for general release toys, not online exclusives:

Smallest Price Point -Prime Masters (8) vs Battle Masters (7). The general USD retail for all 8 PM would be about $42.92 before tax (The last wave of three experienced a one-dollar price increase). For all seven BM's, assuming no additional Price increases would be about $41.93. Less than a $1 difference, despite Siege having one less figure. However, when one looks objectively at the 8 PM's released, and the seven BM's planned on release, objectively...which do you think took more time to develop. The fronts of all the PM Shells are unique, but many of the PM themselves share the same mold. Three of the BM for general retail are unique, while the four humanoid ones share a lot, so it is too close for me to call. For this category, I would say both lines are about even.

For the Next Price Point, we have Legends (9) vs Micromasters (7). The general USD retail for all nine Legends would be about $89.91 before tax. For all Seven Micromaster Packs it would be $69.93. Now as far as the uniqueness of PotP Legends go, only five of the eight are completely new. Two others are remolds, one from a previous line, and one other a re-release from a line 3 years prior. Conversely, the Micro Masters consist of all completely new molds. One could argue that the complete mass of two Micromasters is not equal to one legends class figure, and I do consider those, however I have to give the advantage here to Siege.

Moving on, we come to, what arguably may be the most exciting release of every line, the Deluxe Size figures. PotP (13) vs Siege (14). The general USD retail for all 13 PotP deluxe would be about $220.87, whereas 14 Siege would be about $279.86. Quite a price difference for just one additional figure. However, this is where it gets somewhat tough. There is obviously a lot of parts sharing with PotP, and less so with Siege, however Siege has several straight up recolors, and one reuse from the previous series. The Price increase of Siege really wants me to give the edge to PotP, but I’ll give Siege the advantage woith the caveat’ that there is at least one additional figure in this size class coming out that hasn’t been revealed yet, So I guess will give this one to Siege*, for now.

The next category we have is Voyager Class. PotP (5) vs Siege (6). The general USD retail for all 5 PotP Voyagers would be about $149.95, for all 6 Siege it would be $179.70. This one is not hard to judge. While there have been some complaints about QC issues with Siege Voyagers, the fact that 5 of 6 are completely unique by far is superior to PotP which had arguably only 2 new unique molds, and others that either shared engineering, or were repaints from previous lines. Siege takes this category easily.

Finally, we come to Leader Class. PotP (4) vs Siege (3). The general USD retail for all four PotP Leaders would be about $199.96, for Siege it would be $149.97. Now this one truly is interesting, since Price is not a factor, and in both lines, we have three unique molds. However, the gimmick with PotP was evolution, one figure growing into another. As to how well this was executed, most seem to like Optimus and Rodimus while Primal seemed to be divisive among fans. With Siege however, of the two out, Ultra Magnus seems to be universally lauded, while Shockwave is split. Opinions about the forthcoming “Galaxy” Prime are also split. However, fans assertion that Shockwave & even Ultra Magnus were just the realization of pre-planned *Power of the Primes* designs seems to have some merit. Therefore, you may be wondering, am I forgetting the Commander Class Jetfire? Certainly not. However since this is unique to Siege, I did not think it would be fair to include. Additionally Titan Predaking vs Titan Omega Supreme…While it appears fan opinion overall is favoring Omega Supreme, even though he isn’t even out yet, I figured it would not be fair to include Titans either, since in many areas, they are not available in general retail, but have to be ordered online.

Still having said all that, Siege seems to be an overall, better-developed line than PotP. Keep in mind this is coming from a fan of combiners, and someone who spent much more money on PotP than plan to spend on Siege. Still I have to recognize the overall improvement, and hope that this will continue into the next two phases of the War for Cybertron line. As a fan of combiners, if I wish to see new ones in the future, I would hope that if they do appear at some point, it would be in an improved fashion (still using the same system already developed however, because I think it is a solid one), as opposed to regressing.

I don't understand this one. Evolving to the next form was not a line wide theme in POTP either, it only pertained to the leader class, making it ridiculously random. In Siege, its essentially the same thing, combining a smaller bot with extra armour BUT in this line its actually in theme with the rest of the line where those armour bits can be given to the other bots.

From that perspective, the leaders to me, is the sure win for siege between both lines.

Also, I found all the POTP leaders underwhelming, while the siege leaders all look good. The smaller voyager sized bot was really simplified in POTP while in Siege he looks more in line with the rest of the toyline.

Nothing too exciting, other than i finally found the rest of Wave 2 of the Deluxe Siege line at a local Target, on the way to work. I had snagged Chromia almost two weeks ago but since then haven’t seen anything.
Now they can just the rest at my office, lol!

thats the same, I really mean lock. as far as I know, no one has a megatron who's head is loose enough to fall in robot mode.

Mine is significantly more loose than this. If I pull him up by the head like you did, it immediately swings up. It takes very little pressure to push it down into his body. It won't slide down on its own, but it doesn't take much. I wish mine was that sturdy!

I am sure there is a gradient, these mass produced toys cant be all perfectly the same. All I meant to say is that unless there is an actual lock I would be hard pressed to say there is a running change rather than simply some variation of friction from product to product.
