Transformers Velocitron Speedia 500 Victory Universe Galaxy Shuttle Revealed

I'm interested as it's a "new" character, but as it's the by p*ss-poor, AT mold (with the "unfinished" shuttle rear), I'm not so sold on it. The inflated price/irrelevant accessories are also not interesting for me.

I'll have to see some legit YouTubers review this and/or see if any add-on kits come out to fix the shuttle mode.

Oh wow, I actually did not see that coming. Pretty cool character choice. I liked Astrotrain so I might pick this up, if at least because I enjoy the more "traditional" colours for the shuttle.

It's Ebay and a reseller, so that won't be the MSRP.

He looks like he'll go excellently with the Botropolis Rescue Mission set from Earthrise. Train Mode tho... they did not plan the mold color layout that well in hindsight.

Maybe they guessed Victory fans wouldn't really bother with the train mode and expected kids not to care all too much!

Pleasantly surprising character choice. I won't get it, because that mold is barely worth voyager price, much less leader price, even in those colors. But good to see a variety of characters getting the spotlight.

Even though it is not particularly accurate, I really like this, that head sculpt speaks to me.

Same here, the headsculpt is very nice. Helps also make it feel distinct from Astrotrain along with the colour scheme. Perhaps one could even just slap some Decepticon symbols and pretend this is "Takara G1 Astrotrain"...

I saw someone mention that on Twitter, with a new head it could be toy colors Astrotrain. I like that idea, but I like Galaxy Shuttle more. Victory Saber is going to have a friend at least once he arrives!

I was hoping for a White Astrotrain for a while. Getting this without it just being "White Astrotrain" is a win-win. Yes the shuttle and Train modes have compromises but I am not going into this with Masterpiece expectations and I think it's fine.

The new head looks great and I love the Bot and Shuttle colors chimes. The train is broken up weird but I can take it.

Well that's an unexpected pull. I don't think I'll be getting it unless it goes on clearance, but it looks surprisingly enticing for such an obscure guy.

I wonder if he races in shuttle mode or train mode.

Wow, this is exciting. I just posted a while back about Leader Astrotrain and Doubledealer not getting any reuse, Galaxy Shuttle seemed a good fit (even though I think its a bit small), but I dont think we'll be getting a CC or Titan version any time soon, so I'll take it.

Hopefully a Selects Masterforce Doubleclouder (toy deco) isn't too far behind

I'm all down for this one. I like this character from Victory a lot and I love trains and will always take more of them in Transformers.

That obvious repaint took longer than I thought.

I may buy IF I see it live in store. Probabilities of that happening: 1%.

Even if I weren't budgeting the answer would still be no. The robot mode is striking in those colors, but neither mode does the job for me. I wonder why the landing pad / tender is in those colors. Works for shuttle mode, but makes it stand out in a bad way in vehicle.

The tender/launchpad is colored to look like the Rocket Base, which Galaxy Shuttle used in Victory.

Just curious if you've been able to find RiD Scourge? I saw 2 at a larger Walmart a few weeks back, but then just this past Sunday, I went to a smaller Walmart where I was shocked to see 4 on the shelf (Still no Cosmos), but it gives me hope of more likelihood of seeing this Galaxy Shuttle Leader on the shelf at some point.

I get that they had the mold there waiting to be used ... but a new mold could have been developed with a potential re-use for Armada Jetfire.

I never got the Astrotrain version, and the more I look at this the more I just go ... meh.

A bit of a shame indeed but I'm guessing HasTak were playing it safe using an older mold for a fairly obscure character.

Check a page back, that question was basically all of yesterday's conversation.

This looks really sharp! I can picture setting it up with the Galactic Odyssey Botropolis set. The colors would all line up nice and make for a gorgeous mini-base display.
I love Siege Astrotrain, so I'll be happy to pick up this mold again.

I really like the look but no, this doesn't work as Galaxy Shuttle. I'm not sure if I want it.

In all seriousness it probably would help show that people want more stuff from Victory.

Definitely getting, definitely not ever going into the abysmal train mode. Shuttle mode is a little more acceptable since Galaxy Shuttle wasn't exactly modeled off a real NASA shuttle. Autobots are definitely winning the toy space race these last 5 years or so between Sky Lynx, two Micromasters, Omega Supreme, the Ark, Cosmos, and Galaxy Shuttle versus just Astrotrain.

So I guess Hasbro doesn't consider anything after 1990 as part of the G1 universe?

Victory came out in 1989, and is definitely part of the original Transformers series. Everything from 1984-1992 is. Dosen't matter if it was toy, print media, or animation, or what part of the world it came from. However, Hasbro probably just wants to differentiate it for "reasons".

I'm guessing to avoid confusing Americans who didn't grow up with Japanese-exclusive shows, seeing as Hasbro is acting like Japanese-exclusive characters have never been represented by them before despite figures like CW Liokaiser existing.

D'oh, yeah that makes more sense. It's even sillier since I was just watching a Thew video earlier...

I'm glad to see that there are some who are not flocking to this not so great figure. Remember we were given POTP Rodimus Prime? Sometimes I wonder if in secret were discussing the simple fact that even though RP was released down the road fans would be given '86 Studio RP... .

That said I'm unfortunately passing up on this attempt at a great TF and a not so great representation and if we are lucky will take another crack at a better Galaxy Shuttle down the road...'nuff said!

I'm going to get this. I won't ever turn it into a train, though.

I just realised I should finally get that one redeco of Classics Astrotrain that represents both Shouki and the Thunder Arrow...that way I can have both shuttles from the Victory cartoon!

Looking at the Victory primary cast page on the wiki, we are slowly but surely getting the bots in there.

Autobot wise, we have Star Saber, Victory Leo, Galaxy Shuttle, Greatshot, Holi, and Fire, So we just need the other half of the Micromasters, and then the 2 combiners. As for the cons, should we actually get Dinoking from the core Dinobots, we would have some representation of the entire primary con cast save Deathsaurus in a proper standalone release (we technically have that Botcon toy and Liokaiser torso, but I am not counting either since one is a hard to get old exclusive and the other has no Deathsaurus robot mode)

I keep wondering how close we are to seeing a deathsarus figure.

As for Galaxy Shuttle, I like it. Its nice to see Hasbro dipping into the Japanese characters

I kinda dig that Galaxy Shuttle repaint. Enough to buy? Dunno yet.

Huh odd... I'm not a premium member, but when I went online at 7am PST (about 30 minutes ago), it was available for me to order on Pulse, but I didn't want to seeing as how I can get aditional points if I order with my Walmart Card (and Walmart was saying out of stock on the pre order).

Now its the opposite, which is good, and what I wanted anyway . Hopefully Walmart doesn't screw their pre-orders up this time... or get them months after they arrive in store.

I do realize you said "primary" cast, but the Decepticon Cast of Victory was very small. Only 2 you didn't mention were the Mega Pretenders. SkyBlack Shadow we got in TR, so that just leaves Blue Bacchus, which would probably only ever happen if we got a new Crossblades first.

These are going in and out of stock at random, so keep checking. Galaxy Shuttle was OOS at first, but then I checked a few minutes ago, and it was available. As of this moment looks like Crasher, Shadowstrip and Hot Rod are OOS, but that can change...hopefully because I'd like to get Shadowstrip if possible.

Siege Astrotrain repaint, eh? And complete with that useless "coal car". No thanks. It was sold out on Pulse, but available on Walmart's website. It seems the availability on either of these locations varies depending on where you are .

And in the meantime - there's STILL no restock of Cosmos on Pulse, nor is he included at the Walmart website. Bah!

Well looks like Hasbro partly answered my question as to what the Transformers version of a retro line would be like with these new collector con items. We are getting a Hot Rod and Starscream and while they are the G1 molds, they are being offered in brand new decos inspired by the movie. So yeah, you are finally getting a magenta Hot Rod. And they are being released in the velocitron style of closed box which we saw for the velocitron leader class toy. They are $33.99 each.

Are G1 toy in new decos a thing you fans would like to see Hasbro pursue?

We also have the reveals/preorders of the 4 new toys for Velocitron wave 2: Hot Rod toy deco, Shadowstrip, Crasher and Galaxy Shuttle.

Something feels very odd about the original G1 toys being redecoed to be more show-accurate. At the same time maybe this'll help 80's kids finally have their toys look like the 'bots they saw on the screen!

They did do a re-issue of Soundwave and the cassettes a few years back at Walmart. For a change, those sold pretty well, unlike many re-issues. This G1 Starscream has some alterations, it looks like. Besides the colors, they appear to have added 5mm ports to the hand pieces so he can actually hold other weapons and accessories. There also seem to be matching ports on the the null-ray cannon pieces. Also they included a mini Megatron alt mode weapon. All of which is an improvement. Though that doesn't mean the G1 seekers weren't still a mess of partsforming.
