Couldn't tell what this was at first, but looking at it from a distance, it's definitely Megatron in T-Rex mode.

hard to be sure, zooming in ot it, it looks like cyclonus in jet mode, but looking at it zoomed out, it does look like a purple t-rex. Either would make me a happy pappy.

The one on the left side of the poster next to the golden disc looks like Rhinox.
And "Airazor's" beast head looks pretty bright to me even kind of white. So this character looks more like BW Silverbolt to me but Airazor of course makes way more sense. But maybe they changed her beast form.

Maybe they do some alterations in this line and that's why Airazor is a bald eagle now.

Nope, we haven't. But it looked more like a Voyager next to Star Convoy. Might be a Leader with Armada Prime's trailer.

Could be Elita-1 as there were rumors that she would be apart of the Walmart exclusive Netflix line. Based on what they're currently using for that line, namely repaints of Siege figures, I don't see them trying to pass off the POTP Elita for that nor make one mold for one exclusive line and not reuse it.

o.supreme wrote:Nice to see the BW Characters, even though I would have preferred they get their own trilogy after this one was done....I'll definitely be getting Tigatron as he was my favorite character in the series. I'm sad though it looks like we wont be getting Starsaber or Deszaurus. I guess it's up to , to see if we will ever get Selects of those characters. Speaking of which, I wonder how this is going to go over in Japan where BW was not nearly as popular.
Beast wars was VERY popular in japan, with its own spin off series for all the toys that didn't appear in the cgi show, which is why BW megatron and Optimus re-appeared in later lines like robot masters.

Problem being is we very recently gotten updated versions of the characters from these lines (and still getting) I imagine that is why the skip to beast wars. though we are still missing some seriously key players there. gimme my starsaber and deathsaurus dagnabbit

I enjoyed those shows, but in Japan they took a the original BW that was dramatically written and made it more for smaller children through their dub. It may have grown in appeal somewhat in the last 20 years, but I know for a fact it was not popular when it was airing.

Exactly. This comes back to the point I made earlier, about cherry-picking characters. When a line such as this one is more appropriate to give context to that theme, it is obstructed from doing so. Fort Max was the only really worthwhile figure to come from Titans Return in the long term. Whereas Head/Targetmasters, represent a defining chapter of the G1 mythos. As such they would have been ideal for this trilogy.
Sigh...
Maybe someday we might even get a new Blue Bacchus to go with Black Shadow

I did recall the quote saying that both the Commander Class and Titan Class would not be based on BW. I'm honestly glad we are still getting one for next year, I thought we might not. There are still a few big guys out there before we go back to Metroplex, but it wouldn't surprise me.
As for the Commander Class...this could be our one hope. It would be cool to get Victory Saber (Basically a leader Star Saber (based on unused designs from the Throne of the Primes fanvote), and Leader Victory Leo together). Of course, some might be thinking that selling 2 leaders for only $80 isn't possible, and that may be true, but when you look at TR/Legends God Ginrai (Made of Super Ginrai and God Bomber together) he stands basically the same size as Siege Jetfire. Of course parts count and mass may come into play. I know some people wouldn't mind a CC Star Saber by himself, but without the prospect of a Victory leo, it just doesn't seem as satisfying.

To be fair, if they only do Star Saber and Victory Leo as a set, then they would be able to minimize the amount of molds required by combining different sections of the figures on one set, rather than making twice as many for two Leader class figures, which would probably cut the cost down to $80. Only issue is that people would complain about it not being in scale because Star Saber's supposed to be combiner sized
Posted by Autobot N on July 16th, 2020 @ 12:37pm CDT
Not as sure about the Commander as I am about Metroplex, but my first guess would be Broadside (the leaker on TFW implied it wasn't Star Saber or Deathsaurus), since he's pretty big.o.supreme wrote:Autobot N wrote:Calling it now, the new Titan will be a Metroplex redo.

Honestly, this is why I really wish Star Saber had won the POTP fan vote. I know that him being combiner height is the correct scale, but I'm not a fan of it. I would have much rather had him at Prime Wars Leader size than a towering Commander.Sentinel_Primal wrote:because Star Saber's supposed to be combiner sized

not sure if they would, but there is definitely some demand for armada love. and honestly, there's not a whole lot of other non combiner "commander" scale characters I can think of of the top of my head. At least not ones I can envision hasbro re-making so soon.

I cant speak for others, but my enjoyment goes all the way back to when they were actually airing. I had a friend in the 5th grade (would have been 87-88) who moved to my neighborhood from Japan. He had cool things like the original Famicom, and Super Mario 2 (not the version we got, the one later named "lost levels"). He had family members also send him VHS tapes with the japanese TF series taped from TV broadcasts, I saw a couple Masterforce episodes, and to me that was the "season 5" we should have got but didn't (didn't know about headmasters until a few years later). I even wrote letters to hasbro asking why these episodes weren't airing in the United States...never got a reply, go figure. I learned about the toys from the commercials on the tapes, and other anime in magazines in the early 90's. Since to ME these are the true continuation of the Sunbow series, My enjoyment of these characters grew. Not sure when the overall acceptance came, because I remember meeting much resistance, even as recent as 10 years ago, so many saying "That's not G1, its just random japanese crap..." In hindsight, I wish I could have used Luke's line from TLJ "Amazing...everything you just said is wrong"

Oh, trust me, I hate that height too. Part of the reason I didn't pick up Siege Jetfire despite all the good reviews and such was that I felt he was too big. Titan class figures for some reason occupy this space in my mind where they're allowed to dwarf everything, but when a character is combiner sized, I take an issue with it. Only reason I'd pick up a "proper scale" Star Saber would be because I can justify the Star Saber unit as a sort of Hyperdrive unit that also gives Saber a boost in power in robot mode. I hope we get both Star Saber and Victory Leo as Prime War sized leaders for the Commander for next year, especially because I feel like Victory Leo's beast mode would allow him to "bridge the gap" between the G1 and Beast Wars figures

A mix of things really, part of the allure is they were toys that never appeared, how they were used in fiction etc. It's the same with Guiltor (or how ever his name is spelt) and a whole host of others. Overlord and Black Shadow managed to get further then most.
